What are some potential free agents the Chiefs should look at?

Admittedly, I'm unfamiliar with how the "uncapped year" will affect free agency. Nevertheless, who are some players you think we should bring in?

One of the three NT's so we can do other things in the draft.

BigMeatballDave 12-03-2009 04:36 PM

I'd love to see them go after Wilfork.

Micjones 12-03-2009 04:37 PM

Wilfork.

Dansby will be available too, no?

Direckshun 12-03-2009 04:39 PM

There will be no free agency this year.

Read this then you will understand a little more. There is hardly any way to know who is actually going to be available.
Multiple tags, 4 yrs vs 6 yrs service etc...

Due to this I think they will hammer out a new CBA.

can someone lat out a dummy guideline for how this free agency thing is going to work with it being uncapped? It's just going to be like baseball? fuck, I'm too lazy to read up on it.

nychief 12-03-2009 05:03 PM

Logan mankins if he is available....

*The top eight playoff finishers from the previous season would be allowed to sign free agents only at the rate at which they lose them.

* Players would need six NFL seasons to be eligible for free agency, rather than four.

* Each team would be allowed to restrict two eligible free agents with "franchise" or "transition" player tags, rather than one.

Wilfork, for sure. Kirk Morrison is a guy I think is underrated. I'm sure Al Davis will probably throw the bank at him to get him to stay, though.

KCChiefsMan 12-03-2009 05:25 PM

I'll take Wilfork for 1000 Alex

Quesadilla Joe 12-03-2009 05:27 PM

Stay away from Dumervil, Marshall, Chris Kuper, and Tony Scheffler please. You guys can bring in Ben Hamilton if you want.

ChiefsCountry 12-03-2009 05:45 PM

Tony Scheffler is somebody I hope they make a run at actually. Younger guy, has some good potential, fits with Cassel - since Cassel sucks throwing downfield.

RedThat 12-03-2009 05:51 PM

I'd like to see them make a run at either Wilfork, Mankins or Scheffler.

The Franchise 12-03-2009 05:58 PM

I'll take:

Logan Mankins
Kirk Morrison
Tony Scheffler

bevischief 12-03-2009 06:19 PM

all of them...

Quesadilla Joe 12-03-2009 06:24 PM

Scheffler is a guy who might get away actually. McDaniels doesn't really use him as much as he should and prefers blocking TE's. The only knocks on him is he isn't a great run blocker (even though he has improved in that area this year) and he has a long injury history. This is the first full year he hasn't missed a game so maybe those injuries are behind him.

ChiefsCountry 12-03-2009 06:32 PM

Morrison would be nice as well. I doubt Crazy Al would let him go though.
