Bernard Berrian tries to be Adrian Peterson; Fails

The Minnesota Vikings' offense doesn't just burn defenders -- it burns rubber.

Two days after star running back Adrian Peterson was cited for driving 109 mph in a 55 mph zone, his teammate, wide receiver Bernard Berrian, was ticketed for topping the century mark on an area interstate, according to media reports in the Twin Cities.

On Friday, the Minnesota State Patrol confirmed that Berrian was cited Monday night for driving 104 mph in a 60 mph zone on Interstate 694 in suburban Oakdale, according to reports.

Berrian was pulled over at 9:38 p.m. local time Monday in a southbound lane of the highway, according to reports.

The state trooper who pulled Berrian over said he was polite and cooperative, and the trooper apparently did not realize he had stopped a member of the Vikings, WCCO-TV reported.

Last Saturday, Peterson was cited for driving 109 mph in a 55 mph zone in Edina.

"It is a little bit odd, but on the other hand, I like the publicity about it, because it sort of tells people here are the ramifications, first of all," Capt. Matt Langer of the Minnesota State Patrol said, according to WCCO-TV. "And you're going to get caught."

Video footage of Peterson's traffic stop Nov. 28 shows he reacted with disbelief when he was informed how fast he was going, according to media reports.

"How fast you think you were going?" an Edina police officer asked him, according to The (Minneapolis) Star Tribune. When Peterson replied, "85," the officer replied, "You think you were 30 over the limit? I got you going 109."

After giving Peterson the ticket, the officer told Peterson, "Good luck to you tomorrow," according to the report.

I thought it was funny when AP said he just needs to pay better attention to his speed.ROFL

I mean seriously,I can see going 65 in a 55 or 70 in a 65 by mistake but you know damn good and well if you're driving 109 mph anywhere on the planet no matter the speed limit!!!!!ROFL

In his defense, if you have ever driving a 100K car, it is MUCH easier to go 100mph and not even notice. It is amazing how fast you can drive a porshe, mercedes, high end BMW's, etc.... and feel like you are just putting down the highway. If there aren't other cars to navigate around.... it really feels like you are not going that fast.

Im sorry but we must agree to disagree. My bro has a BMW 850 CSI that I have driven several times and if anything those types of cars make it more obvious as to how fast you are going. The sound of the engine, reaction of the steering wheel and the way the car feels at that kind of speed.I call bullshit but whatever. He didn't crash into a tree while his wife was beating his windows out with a golf club so who cares...ROFL

That extra five mph is why Peterson scores more often.

no way, football players are human? not gonna say its ok to do 100+ while on a public road, but i'm pretty sure i'm pretty sure at least some of us have done it. i'll be the first to admit i have. my point being he was speeding, not like he was beating his wife, or driving drunk. let him pay his fine, and we can move on. not like he was this guy"

I dont have a problem with a speeding ticket so much, that shit happens, but don't act like a fukkn tool and say you didn't know you were going 2 times the goddamn speed limit. He can figure out hundreds of different offensive plays, and all the different looks a defense is going to try to give him,but he can't tell when he is driving 109 mph. What the fukk ever.....
Im just saying own it.Say I fuked up my,bad and move on.

Holy shit! Doing 210 in a 65 LMAO! But really, if he crashed and died, it wouldn't mean anything to him. If he can afford a bugatti, then he can afford a new life.

I saw a comic that made me laugh the other day. It was a guy getting stopped for speeding, and the cop said, "Do you know how fast you were going?". And the guy said, "Well, not fast enough, apparently."

actually when you're going that kind of speed you don't want to admit to anything incriminating to the officer. Keep your mouth shut because in some states thats kind of speed is a felony and not saying anything to the police helps you and your lawyer.

When you get pulled over, when the cop asks "How fast do you think you were going?", always knock it down a few mph. Would make no sense in flat out telling him the truth because it's not going to help you at all.

blazzin311 12-06-2009 07:33 AM

I wonder if the two of these dumbasses had a bet with one another to see who could drive the fastest before being pulled over and ticketed for speeding. I know that's highly unlikely but still.
