Tony is on Rome right now

Spinning the fact that ATL didn't make the playoffs into a positive.

Brock 01-12-2010 03:41 PM

It is a positive, for the Chiefs anyway.

kcxiv 01-12-2010 03:41 PM

lol, Chiefs or Falcons. he didnt get where he wanted to get and its probably not going to happen with the Falcons.

Titty Meat 01-12-2010 03:41 PM

Tony is a dumbass glad he was traded.

Hell, it's not like he doesn't have that conversation material nailed already.

tomahawk kid 01-12-2010 03:44 PM

I honestly think there's a part of him that doesn't care about the postseason, as long as he gets his catches.

ChiefaRoo 01-12-2010 03:45 PM

I love Tony G. but I don't weep for him. He's loaded, has a nice family and is going to Canton. Sounds like a good life to me.

Farzin 01-12-2010 03:46 PM

A lot of what Tony is saying has been heard many times.

-No playoff wins in 13 years, still would not trade it anyway for anything.

-Kansas City and Atlanta have been good to him.

-Body still in good shape.

-Praises Tony Richardson and the Jets more than the other playoff teams when asked about the playoffs.

I dunno....I find it hard to question his desire to win.

Sheesh... Now I've heard it all.

Gonzo will always be remembered as one of the All-Time great Chiefs. But you can't build a franchise around a TE. I wish him the best because the ATL was really the best for both parties. Gonzo still has reason to be positive, but it is a bummer he didn't land with a better team.
But then again it does help us. Now, hopefully we don't screw up the pick.

NOt really, he's great, but he got what he wanted and the grass wasnt greener.

He's a great player but I don't care about indivual records he hasn't even won a playoff game.

Are you suggesting he didn't play a part in this? He wasn't exactly great in those playoff games. This isn't baseball records don't mean that much.

FYP. Tony is/was a WR who happened to line up next to a tackle. Calling him a TE is something I think isn't really fair. Still that isn't enough to base a team around. All of the great WRs were only great because they had a Good QB. The only exception I can really think of is Tim Brown, and even he wasn't good enough to win a championship without a QB.

Are you seriously going to claim that tg was part of the reason we lost in the playoffs? I mean, Really?

Nah....you wouldn't do that.....

You mean he didn't push off vs the Colts that took away a tocuhdown and led to a missed field goal? I mean really? And for such a great player he certainly didn't dominate any playoff game.

Are you ****ing kidding me? Are you seriously going to blame TG's playoff losses over a stupid PI call? Are you thinking about what you type before you say it, or are you just trying to play the role of "bad guy"

SHIT HAPPENS.

Because you get called for PI every once in awhile, it doesn't make you any less of a player. And it's pretty easy to get removed from football games when you're the LONE receiving threat.

And if you wanna blame someone, blame Priest for Fumbling the ball, blame the kickers who missed FG's, blame the RB's who couldn't find the hole, the Wr's who didn't get open, blame the ****ing defense that couldn't force a punt.

but blaming Tony G? Gimme a ****ing break.

LMAO dude go back and look at the score of the game and tell me that play didn't change the game.

For such a great tight end really he didn't dominate a single playoff game. The last few years all I heard was him bitch about not being on a playoff team then he gets traded to a contender and they don't even make the playoffs. I thought great players make teams better?

mikey23545 01-12-2010 04:48 PM

If the guy really wanted a ring, he'd take the league minimum and go play for someone like the Patriots.

They might not use him nearly as much, and he wouldn't have the money or stats, but he'd have the best shot at a ring as he's going to get.

He's a TE, dude. What TE's actually come in and dominate games? What TE's warranted the kind of attention that he got from defenses in the playoffs?

What TE's in the NFL actually warrant this kind of conversation. The fact that we are even having this conversation shows how dominating he is at his position.

Yeah, cuz the Patriots offered up a 2nd rounder for him, right? And god forbid he sign a contract extension with the Chiefs when we began building one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL at the time.

Are you talking about the same Baltimore Ravens that had possibly the most dominating defense of the Decade? The same D that took Trent ****ing Dilfer to the Super Bowl? The Same Ravens with ANOTHER 2k+ running back?

Are you talking about the same Superbowl in which he caught 1 pass for 5 yards? Yeah, he was definantly a huge part of Baltimore's gameplan.......JFC

That's was about the dumbest thing you could've said. He had even less of an influence on that team then he did the Broncos.

And he had...what 7 td's total for the two years he was there and never had a 1K season.

Good Job, yeah, Game Over.

I see why they call you Detoxing. Look up Sharpes stats in that playoff run. Tony G couldn't even win a playoff game with DT. Tony G is a career loser.

It was a good move last year and it still has been. He wanted out and we got a good pick for him. This was a win win. It at least brought to the light our failures at develpoing WR's. Haley will have to get that fixed if we have any chance at being better this season.

If we get good and Tony wants to come back, I hope Scott makes him mow the field in a thong and white person of Hispanic heritage-boots on Saturdays, and installs a real-time cam for all of Chiefs Nation to enjoy.

KCBOSS1 01-12-2010 08:56 PM

I like Tony fine. But he would constantly run his mouth every year. Threaten, wanting to leave. But I have to hand it to him, he played his heart out every game. I think that he could have been one of the last franchise guys in the league, but honestly, I think that he made it obvious that he wanted out of KC for years. I would love it if the Chiefs made the playoffs his last few years and he never sniffs them. I'm not as frustated with him as I was when he first left and I think that he is the greatest tight end ever.
