ketchup....

Watch the video and tell me its ketchup. The kids has blood literally pouring down his face.
That being said, I know you were joking. |
Cooper may be the the ****ing man, but Tony is a ****ing moron for risking his life for whatever he has in that store. I'd cut my losses and get the hell out of there.
|
Anderson Cooper has nice guns. He wears a shirt with short sleeves to show them off! What a sexy hero man!
|
Interesting decision by Anderson to decide to get involved in the action rather than just report it. I definitely support his decision, there are enough journalists down there reporting about everything going wrong, it's great to see one act with human emotion, step up and help out in a time of need. Similar to Dr. Sanjay Gupta performing brain surgery on a girl down there as well.
|
Saw that while I was having a beer with a friend. Amazing shit.
|
Hard to fathom the mind that thinks to throw cinder blocks into a crowd. What a nightmare.

My dad worked over in that country many years ago. He told me stories that you'd see dead bodies laying along side the roads out in the country side. That place needs to be nuked. Those people are not civil.
|
Great to see top-notch photojournalism in this day and age. Its been hard to find since the Vietnam era.
I guess it doesn't matter if the child was saved, but I hope he did this with the intention of helping the kid and not ratings. I wish CNN would have left this one off the website, if not for the great photography. Quote:

I know this is just a bb forum, but come on Mr. Hog Farmer. That's really uncalled for. |

I know where you're coming from. It's easy to get your ire up when you see things like that young boy suffer from such a horrible, inhumane act of violence. |
There is alot of people in the USA that need to be nuked as well.

The human condition is twisted. Combine our instinct to do the opposite of what is good for us, with the mob mentality and you have a recipe for disaster. |

But the thing is , that boy will grow up to be the same as the people that did this to him . That's what bothers me. Some times you just need to start over. You know like when God created woman and realized how bad he'd screwed up........ |

My 2 cents... |

You put the gloves down when someone is injured. Edited to add: We didn't actually take the money from Cuba or Venezuela. Money wasn't really the issue. |

But hey, this is America. We put Bible verses on our guns. We make no ****ing sense.

Not to defend Hog but why on earth are we spending our tax money to save them??? They produce NOTHING that benefits our country...They can't and won't pay us back... Would you go to Haiti after reading the following?.... http://upsidedownworld.org/main/content/view/372/68/ Prolly not...unless you're just STUPID... I love these stupid ass people blaming obama for not saving their children...good lord. http://upsidedownworld.org/main/content/view/372/68/ |
Quote:
I didn't say that...People die everyday...it's part of life. I don't want to foot the bill for a country that means absolutely nothing to me and never will. I'd rather feed and cloth our own...We have enough problems here at home... I'm not stupid...it's just my opinion...Why don't you spend you're money and fly down there and help out if it's that important to you... |
My neighbor is a dickhead but that doesn't mean i wouldn't help him out if his house burned to the ground and killed some of/all of his family members and ruined everything he ever owned.
|
So Munkey, you only help those that will pay you back?
If so, then I pity your life and those around you. |
Quote:
True. I guess actually we just need to kill their government. Install our own government and make them construction workers. I would imagine theres enough work to hire them all now. |

I wouldn't give up on him. A lot of the folks there are NOT behaving badly. Even after most of the city has been flattened. The prior history of the country is well documented. The abject poverty as well as the violence described by your father makes for a very sad and scary place. But it's almost too easy to judge from our relatively cozy bearth. To have any grace under that kind of pressure is an extraordinary thing. I read an interesting opinion/blog piece today that you might find interesting: http://www.cnn.com/2010/OPINION/01/1....haiti/?hpt=C2 |

What if he was wealthy and his house burned to the ground because he had a meth lab and none of his family of 18 were injured . Would you take them in and house them and feed them until they could get an insurance settlement and rebuild their crack house ? |
Quote:
Like I said...Take the tax money YOU paid/earned and fly down there and help out. I pity you for being an idiot/liberal. |
Quote:
|
That tax money was ear-marked for blowing browns up, not for saving them!
|
You should send them some bacon and some beer.
|
Sure, I am ok with thousands and thousands of violent savages NOT dying, but not on my dime buddy!
|
My daddy went there once and I hope they are all irradiated to death.

You lost me...your two bucks is what? You think it's only 2 bucks? The government takes about 28-33% of my income every year and that's ALOT more than 2 bucks. |

He only makes 7 bucks a year. |

I'm sure my tax dollars are being well spent right here in the U.S. on the third worlders that have already moved here.
|

Ok...where does my 28-33% go then...what are you...12 years old? |

And yes. I have been to Haiti. |

I would rather spend my/our FEDERAL tax money to feed and cloth the veterans and less fortunate in our own backyard than use to be the world "humanitarian"...It hasn't gotten us anywhere before and never will. Where has it worked before...France...NO. Mexico...NO...Russia...NO...Vietnam..NO...Cuba...NO...Africa...NO. So Where? What Am I missing....You tell me. I don't mind an spirited debate...in fact I'd love one. |

This thread has gotten ugly... Yay Anderson Cooper (remember the OP?) :)
IMO under no circumstance does hate justify hate. There's too much anger in the world anyway, no need to create some more. If someone treats you a certain way, that does not mean it is then justified to treat them the same way. But that's just my philosophy, IMO we could all benefit from some more love, peace and empathy. We could all do some good by listening to some Bob Marley. :) |
What Am I missing Zach...you broke out the numbers...are you saying the military has NOTHING to do with humanitarian aid?
|
Quote:
I never said anything of the sort. Lets look clearly at what ive been responding too. First of all this all started because you said we should just nuke that country. Lets just get that out there. Then people started talking taxes with you because you made it sound like a disproportionate amount was going to something like the efforts in Haiti. Which it isn't...in the least. |
There's no oil in Haiti, so why are we down there? I DUN GEDDIT

Correct! I'm sure they're still screwing like hell because they need more children running around they can't feed. It would be a real good time to drop a C-130 full of condoms. |
No, you are building straw man arguments.
No I'm not...Do you know what a "straw man" is? I've personally dealt with assholes who create them and they are not fun people to deal with. I never said anything of the sort. Lets look clearly at what ive been responding too. First of all this all started because you said we should just nuke that country. :shake: Never said it...that was Hog Farmer. Lets just get that out there. Yeah...your and idiot...lets get that out there...try reading the thread before you make an ass of yourself. Then people started talking taxes with you because you made it sound like a disproportionate amount was going to something like the efforts in Haiti. Which it isn't...in the least. Really...You didn't post those figures? Who did then? You're Momma? How in the hell do you know how much is being spent on what and why? |
Quote:
"are you saying the military has NOTHING to do with humanitarian aid?" Nobody is ****ing saying that. But the idea that this aid is more the smallest percentage point in the US MILITARY budget is crazy. |
How much of your taxes do you believe are going to Haiti.

Feel free to answer the question. I understand if you don't want to because it would be the most minuscule amount. |
Quote:
"you saying this IS a straw man argument"...What? What does that mean?:spock: |

I,m guessing Obama's gonna give them 100 million because thats what I heard on the news. Plus our military . Plus the 4 bags of boar goo I put in the mail! |

Quote:
You had to create a fake argument "that military funding had nothing to do with humanitarian aid" that I didn't make and respond to it. Nobody said that. |
Quote:
You are the one angry about it. You would think you would have something to get angry over. So how much is it do you think? |
