On a side note, Corey Feldman's career is dead.

Lost boys was one of my all time favs. RIP

blaise 03-10-2010 07:43 AM

I actually wrote him a letter once. A friend and I found a book that listed the supposed addresses of a bunch of celebrities and he was in there, somewhere in Canada. So we wrote him a letter saying we wanted him to star in License to Drive 2, and that the entire plot was him driving around in a convertible, wearing a brightly colored sport coat with the sleeves pushed up for 2 hours. He never responded.
RIP. Lost Boys was good. Lucas was kind of entertaining.

Heh, I did a wikipedia search on the movie, Dream a Little Dream, and everytime it mentions Corey Haim it refers to him as the (now dead Corey Haim). Kinda coldhearted but had me chuckling anyway.

patteeu 03-10-2010 08:03 AM

I looked him up on imdb.com because I didn't remember the name. I've seen a few of his movies, but his pictures don't look very familiar to me. I don't really remember him at all. I'm sorry, Corey, if I was a part of the problem.

ROFL, truth hurts.

That said, I'm curious how old are you? Have you never seen "Lost Boys"? One of those movies for people of a certain age that define a part of their youth (Breakfast Club, Lost Boys, Top Gun, etc).

jAZ 03-10-2010 09:01 AM

Did anyone see an episode of "The Two Coreys" reality TV show a few years ago? One of the two (Feldman) was relatively stable and normal. The other (Haim) was a just a total mess of a person, of the sort I don't think you ever get "normal" again. It is not remotely surprising that he was a drug addict living his life inside the death pool.

Donger 03-10-2010 09:05 AM

Oh no. Who is the poster with the Lost Boys avatar?

Yes, I've seen Lost Boys and Lucas and a few others, but when I looked at his picture on imdb, his face wasn't memorable to me at all. Corey Feldman, on the other hand, is someone whose pictures from that time period I easily recognize for some reason.

As for the rest of the movies mentioned in this thread so far, I've also seen Breakfast Club, Top Gun, and One Crazy Summer fwiw. But I haven't seen Dream a Little Dream or License to Drive as far as I know.

Given his history, I was pretty surprised too. But he seemed pretty close to a normal guy with a normal (hot) wife and a pretty decent hold on how not to end up dead at 38.

Haim was a dead man walking.

Jeremy Piven rocks. ABC should've never canceled "Cupid" with him and Paula Marshall (now in Jay Mohr's show, and smokin' hot).

As for Haim... never saw "Lost Boys". I was 20 when it came out (1987), and past the whole "teen flick" thing. ("Goonies" was 1985, as was "The Breakfast Club". Last year of high school for me, which is quite different from 2nd year of college. By the time "Lost Boys" came out, I was too busy getting shitfaced at heavy metal concerts...)

I'm with you. I'm not familiar with his movies and saw "Lost Boys" just once in the 80's (and barely remember it).

I did meet him just once, back in 1993. He seemed nice but was very "twitchy" and was later told he was jonesing for drugs.

What a waste of a life...
