When your diet consists primarily of yogurt, sprouts and 15 different types of leftover beer, you can't always make it to the toilet.

Sure-Oz 03-10-2010 09:17 PM

No, that was Facebook where I mentioned that.

Tuscaloosa is liveable. It feels like a slightly-less-cool Columbia, MO. And I say slightly less cool because where CoMo gets all kinds of good concerts, many artists skip playing Tuscaloosa in favor of playing AL's biggest city, Birmingham, which is only an hour away from Tuscaloosa. Bear Bryant stadium is an awe-inspiring thing. I can make due there for 3-4 years primarily because there are like 10 barbecue joints in Tuscaloosa.

It's only three years old. I saved his stuff for that special female with the really big hams that only comes around once in a blue moon. He had to be put down because he injured his leg and never would get better. He was special.

Sorry about that. I lost a cat here recently, so I know how you feel.

In all seriousness, what kind of porcine do you raise/produce? Do you have any hobby farm/heirloom type hogs or are they the commercial/generic variety?

Hog's Gone Fishin 03-11-2010 04:52 AM

I have about 200 purebred Landraceand Large Whites and cross those to make F1's, then take those and cross with an offshoot Nebraska Index line to make up the balance of the 1200 sow herd . Then I take the three way cross andbreed with Duroc semen to produce your market pigs that are lean and mean.

Red Beans 03-11-2010 06:52 AM

That list is just down right awesome.

That would be the man fridge out in the shop.

I got back from Belize a couple of weeks ago and talked the old boy over at the rum, coffee and cigar house in San Pedro out of his family recipe for that drink. (It only took me 4 years)

Trust me, there are a lot more ingredients in that drink than rum and coffee and it's out of this world good! I knocked out a 2 gallon batch last weekend and put them in pint jars. Mmmmmm! :thumb:

I've got a case of Natty for myself and a case of Bud light should I run out, and some for the lady as well. Yeah, I'm trash. Although I do have 4 Scottish Historical Ales that a bud got me for my bday. The look tasty but I'm saving them for a special occasion. I believe one has an alcohol content of 8%, everytime I've tried a beer with close to 10% alcohol I feel like I'm drinking some kind of thick wine. Never had a good experience, but evidently I'm willing to try again. Not only am I trash, I'm a glutton for punishment.

I've even hooked up a stereo to my fridge when you open the door, Michael Bolton comes on and while you're getting these Man Drinks from the fridge, "Time Love and Tenderness" starts playing.

HUGE hit at parties.

I've got a guy. I'm all hooked up for at least one bottle of 2010 Dark Lord, too.

For the uninitiated reading this post: Dark Lord is a Russian Imperial Stout produced by Three Floyds Brewing out of Munster, Indiana. It is noteworthy not only for its high quality (routinely considered to be a top 10 beer in the whole world) but because it is released exactly one day per year, sold only at the brewery. Dark Lord Day 2010 will happen in April, and people there will be limited to six bottles of Dark Lord per person.

In any case, I'd much prefer it if breweries didn't put out any mega-hyped, one-day-only beers. I hate all that hype and I hate how many people are excluded from enjoying the product.
