Brandon Flowers and Eric Berry are BFF's
with the 5th pick of the draft the Kansas City Chiefs select ... Eric Berry, Safety Tennessee
---------------------------------- Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers "Coaching Up" Tennessee S Eric Berry http://cdn0.sbnation.com/profile_ima...dshot_tiny.jpg by Joel Thorman on Apr 3, 2010 5:16 PM CDT in 2010 Draft http://cdn1.sbnation.com/entry_photo...e_football.jpg A few weeks ago came the news that Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers has been working out with Tennessee S Eric Berry down in Florida. Apparently, "at least once or twice a week" Flowers headed down to Berry's workout facility and helped him prepare for the Combine and his pro day. "I think my performance at the Combine, what I did in my position drills, that showed what he did for me," Berry told Nick Wright of 610 Sports on Friday. "At least once or twice a week, he came to the training facility and helped me out on my drills. He got me prepared for the drills." http://cdn1.sbnation.com/images/blog...vide.v5547.jpg Romeo Crennel will be Flowers' third defensive coordinator in as many years so it's impressive that he's been able to perform consistently in two separate schemes. "You could tell he has a good knowledge of the game the way he was coaching me up," Berry said. "I think I could understand it very well. You could tell he knows a lot coming from the Kansas City Chiefs. I think that has a lot to say about that organization." Not only is Flowers "coaching up" Berry, he's also telling him that Kansas City isn't a bad place to be. "He said it was a great city," Berry explained. "The fans are amazing. They're just like college, very passionate about their team and their city. They come in every Sunday with pride backing up the Kansas City Chiefs." Kudos to Brandon Flowers for repping Kansas City. Here's the audio of the Eric Berry interview. http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2010/4...owers-coaching |
Great. Another article that will ultimately lead some of us Chiefs fans to Arrowhead with axes and pitchforks if we don't select Berry. Cool article though.

So is anyone going to tell me again how this is just some wild coincidence and how Flowers just happens to be working out with a player that's right in the wheel house when our pick comes up and just happens to be a pick of need as well?

The same way anyone will discredit any pick they don't like...

The Chiefs are planning to trade Flowers and the 5th pick to the Browns for Shaun Rodgers. |

The chiefs might not pick Berry but they must be seriously considering it. it will be interesting to see what happens if Berry and Clausen are both sitting there when we pick. i wonder if that trade rumor with Cleveland will happen... |

what's the rumor? |
Holy shit, Nick Wright has one of the most annoying voices ever. How the **** is he on the radio?
And yeah, Eric Berry. Want. |
Berry's and Flower's make me happy.... Time to turn the Page, and hand over the Carr keys to Berry's and Flower's....
Sheesh I'm tired. Best I got and it sucked... |
I hate reading this shit. I mean, its cool that they're friends and all, but I'm gonna be so disappointed when Scott passes on him...

I think Bartee's must be coming back

This place is going to have a colossal meltdown if Berry is there and KC passes. I want Berry with the #5 pick as bad as anyone, but it may be fun watching posters lose their minds when Pioli grabs Okung, etc.

I've seen enough posts from the Berry camp to see that everyone is bracing for the near inevitable decision to pass on him. People will be pissed, but the meldown will not be epic. |

No one is downplaying "their love" for Berry. Everyone is talking about Berry, and saying that Pioli will be an idiot for passing on him. But they are expecting him to be that idiot. They are going to be pissed, but they are already resigned to the very real possibility that Pioli will pass on him. |

The idea would be that if Clausen and Berry are still both there that KC could trade down 2 spots with cleveland and still get Eric Berry. |

19 days bitches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I'm going to be seriously deflated if/when we pass on Berry.
I'm prepared to instantly make him my favorite player, and find the most expensive Berry jersey I can find. I'm from TN, LOVE the Vols, have followed him his entire career, and played FS my junior year before taking over at QB(even though I was amuch better S than QB, but the starter had a season ending knee blow, and I got to spend an entire season embarassing myself at QB) Needless to say I will rejoice if he holds up the red. I have dreams about it. |
How the **** does Pioli have a draft history
|
Quote:
positive? its that pioli had nothing to do with the draft. hell if pioli drafts clausen hell get no credit it will be all weis. if he drafts berry? no credit again, he just did what he should have done. okung? its all pioli and hes an idiot. hell the headless horsemen discredit pioli and bb on the brady pick. do you think he will ever do anything right? I believe that the "headless horseman" have all given Pioli credit for good value in the Thomas Jones acquisition. |
