Those things have been around for a year or two, I think. Anyway, they're okay. I agree that they're going for the scion market... I'm unsure if the Cube's are as customizable as the Scions, though.

Yeah, that and the Honda Element. All hideous.

We looked at them when we were shopping for a new car last year. They have a lot of new tech toys in them. Selling to the hip, urban market. I liked the cube's style. It's different. Every frikking sedan looks the same these days.

Those cars should come with your choice of Domestic Beer Can label skin.

Actually, they've been around since '98, but only been available in the US since '08, I think. I saw one the other day and thought it was a Scion. Didnt know Nissan made crap-looking vehicles like this.

If by 'different' you mean ugly, then yes. Sorry, there is nothing attractive about that car.

Yeah, we were car shopping for the wife last year and ended up in a lot of dealership showrooms with my children. I got to crawl in and out of lots of cars while entertaining the kids, so I got to check out the Cube closeup and personal (we weren't actually wanting one). They do have a certain je nes sais qua when viewed in person.

I might be wrong, but I'd imagine seeing BRC get in one of these would be comparable to seeing Oprah try to squeeze her ass into a size 6 jean.

I bet they stack nice in the cupboard.

All of the new cars have that utilitarian look to them, trying to find the best balance between form and function. Best implementationI've seen is my family's Ford Flex, whic reminds me so much of the ever-present International Harvester Travelall we always had growing up.

I have one and absolutely love it.

I'm a big guy - 6'5" and 255lbs, so there are very few cars I actually fit in well enough to be comfortable driving. The interior of the cube is HUGE!!!! Unlike many trucks and SUVs that seem to be made for tiny women to get behind the wheel.

I'm not a car guy, and could honestly give a shit what my car looks like. To me it's a tool to get myself and my family around. So these were the qualities I was looking for:

1) Cheap
2) great mpg - currently getting ~32mpg city driving
3) I fit in it.
4) I can get my whole family in and my boys will be able to fit in the back as they get older (youngest is projected to be > 6' 8" ).
5) Reliable - too soon to tell but since it's Nissan it should be pretty good.
6) Safe - good crash test reports
7) Bonus - can get my mountain bike somewhere without having to take off both wheels.

The cube fit these requirements to a tee. I do have to take off my front wheel on my bike, but that's no biggee. The look has grown on me, and I must say I used to get lots of double takes and the car is huge hit with people under 30.

I got my Mustang. We were looking for the wifey and take advantage of the cash for clunkers program. I didn't much care for the cube personally but as someone already mentioned the Cubes are defintely better in person than the pictures. BTW, she ended up getting a Lincoln MKX.

The wraparound window in the rear would actually be a great idea had they put it on the right side of the vehicle where the blind spot is.

This car has something to say about being the ugliest....

Never understood the appeal of that, Scions, or the Honda Excrement.

For years they've been suckering us with shots of wind tunnels. Now we are realizing the value of usable interior space.

It's nice not having to break down my entire drumkit to put it in my vehicle.

That certainly is a candidate for the overall ugliest vehicle, but IMO there is nothing worse than the rear end of a new Beetle, it reminds me of fat woman's ass sticking out. I hate it so much that f I get stuck behind one in traffic and can't change lanes I'll pull into a parking lot or off to the side of the road just so I don't have to look at it anymore.

ROFL Our vending machine repairman, showed up in one so proud about a month ago, just weird. Then he had to come back last week and was driving something else, he said the transmission was out of the Cube already. ROFL

It is on the right side in other pictures, perhaps that is the European model.

Good point. Looking at the front, that’s the steering wheel over on the wrong side of the vehicle.

WTF is up with all the boxes for cars? I know they're good on space, but goddamn they look stupid. Pretty soon they'll roll out a cube on wheels and that's it. Just a ****ing cube with a window and wheels.

My wife and I saw one of these this past weekend in a parking lot. My wife commented on how much it reminded her of the car Supernanny tools around in.

my gf got one of these last year and its awesome. im 6'3 and fit so comfortably in this car. it handles well in the snow. doesnt feel like a cheap commuter like other cars in its class/ price range. the spoiler and body kit from the factory make it much more appealing.

I dont think that car is that bad. Nothing like the Pontiac Aztek. Someone actually owns a Hot pink Aztek around here. I dont get the whole "box-car" trend either. It's gotta be a jap thing.

I rode around in a scion Xb once. I didn't like it. it felt like it had no suspension. But, that's just me. I know a friend who just bought one and he thinks it's cool....so...shrug.

Whenever I see cube-shaped vehicles now, I fully expect to see an over-sized hamster behind the wheel.

I'm often disappointed.

It's not for me but I think it's pretty cool looking.

So many cars these days look so similar that it's difficult to tell many of them apart upon first glance.

That's all good, but do you look cool driving around in it?

I'm waiting for them to introduce the Nissan Tetrahedron. Nothing's cooler than driving in four directions simultaneously.

I don't like the boxiness of this and the scion. But, I like the customizable options they offer.

I kind of like the honda elements but I wouldn't buy a foreign car.
