I think that Tim Tebow will be bust

KCrockaholic 05-09-2010 09:32 AM

My bust list for 2010...

Jason Pierre-Paul (although I feel like he went to a perfect fit)

Derrick Morgan

Dan Williams

and TEBOW

KurtCobain 05-09-2010 09:34 AM

(3) Buccaneers McCoy, Gerald DT 6'4" 295
(4) Redskins Williams, Trent OT 6'5" 315
(16) Titans Morgan, Derrick DE 6'3" 266

(28) Dolphins (From Chargers) Odrick, Jared DT 6'5" 304

maybe more

Ebolapox 05-09-2010 09:40 AM

sam bradford
trent williams
tim tebow
demariyous thomas (too raw)
rolondo mcclain (between the chrone's and being drafted by the raiders)
jahvid best (concussions are damned serious)
I don't see devin mccourty having that big an impact with the patriots. their pass rush isn't what it used to be, so as a result, he'll have to cover longer. that doesn't usually bode well for rookie corners.
I can see anthony davis being a boom/bust guy. I could easily see him going bust.
ryan matthews had a LOT of carries in college. if they don't utilize him right, he may go bust due to health concerns (it's not like they have anybody else to tote the rock)
tyson alualu... drafted way too high. he may be average, but average doesn't look good when it's drafted in the top ten.

RippedmyFlesh 05-09-2010 09:47 AM

(1) Rams Bradford, Sam QB 6'4" 236
Only because he's 1 overall.
If he puts up average #'s I guess he would be considred a bust.
I think he will be an average qb.

(10) Jaguars Alualu, Tyson DE 6'3" 295
Jax is to DE what det used to be to wr.

Broncos (From Ravens) Tebow, Tim QB 6'3" 236
I hope he plays early berry and flowers could rack up the INTs.

Broncos (From Patriots) Thomas, Demaryius WR 6'3" 224
A mistake that will fly under the radar because of tebow.

Sanka 05-09-2010 11:31 AM

Both 1st round QB's.

chiefzilla1501 05-09-2010 11:53 AM

Tyson Alualu without a doubt. He belongs in a 3-4 as a DE and he should have been taken at least 10-15 picks later.

I'm also going with Ryan Matthews. He's going to be a decent back, but was it worth giving up a second round pick and swapping 4ths to move up to get him?

milkman 05-09-2010 12:28 PM

TeBow
Trent Williams
Jermaine Gresham

While the Jags took him way too high, I expect him to surprise a lot of people.

Reaper16 05-09-2010 12:47 PM

Bradford, Tebow, and I'm tempted to say Okung.

I think he's in Tyson Jackson territory. He belongs in the first round, but I just don't think he'll justify a top 10 pick. Too one-dimensional. I think he'll be a good run defender but provide little pass rush in pass D. That's why I think he should have been pegged as a 5-technique. If you're going to be a DT in the top 10, I would demand that you be at least pretty good in both run and pass D.

I see a lot of potential busts. Bradford, Okung, Haden, Spiller (he'll explode somewhere else in 3-4 years), Pierre-Paul, Pouncey, Gresham, Thomas, Bulaga, Tebow.

Thig Lyfe 05-09-2010 11:29 PM

Ryan Sims

Old Dog 05-10-2010 08:35 AM

Best, Odrick, Iupati, and Suh

*I know....there's absloultely no way, no how Suh will be a bust; I mean the guy is an animal, very likeable, and he played at Nebraska for Petes sake. They should just let him skip the NFL and go straight to Canton. I'll stand by it though. Gonna amount to jack in the NFL.

Ralphy Boy 05-10-2010 09:38 AM

Iupati & Kareem Jackson.

Archie Bunker 05-10-2010 10:18 AM

(1) Rams Bradford, Sam QB 6'4" 236
(4) Redskins Williams, Trent OT 6'5" 315
(7) Browns Haden, Joe CB 5'11" 193
(15) Giants Pierre-Paul, Jason DE 6'5" 270
(21) Bengals Gresham, Jermaine TE 6'5" 261
(22) Broncos (From Patriots) Thomas, Demaryius WR 6'3" 224
(25) Broncos (From Ravens) Tebow, Tim QB 6'3" 236

Tribal Warfare 05-10-2010 11:18 AM

Ryan Mathews and Trent Williams

Chiefnj2 05-10-2010 12:14 PM

I think most of the top 10 guys will be viewed as "busts" after their first year.

Bradford is going to a bad Rams team.
Suh has Gunther Cunningham leading the way and developing him.
Berry isn't going to look great until KC has a decent front 7.
Who is Okung protecting at QB?
Alualu isn't going to play up to his draft slot.

Top 10 picks who will probably do well their first year - McClain (because LB's generally pick up systems quick and put up good stats) and Spiller (return stats and I think Gailey can get him some touches).

whoman69 05-10-2010 05:50 PM

(4) Redskins Williams, Trent OT 6'5" 315
Just the Redskins current owner and their reliance on workout numbers rather than game film

(7) Browns Haden, Joe CB 5'11" 193
Not buying the 193. Guy is way smaller.

(8) Raiders McClain, Rolando LB 6'3" 254
He's a Raider, though not as much a reach as they normally have.

(10) Jaguars Alualu, Tyson DE 6'3" 295
He never live up to a top 10 draft status.

(22) Broncos (From Patriots) Thomas, Demaryius WR 6'3" 224
A bust is anything short of Brandon Marshall talent.

(25) Broncos (From Ravens) Tebow, Tim QB 6'3" 236
The obvious choice.

Six first round busts, that number has got to be low.

Jerm 05-10-2010 09:39 PM

Russell Okung
Joe Haden
Ryan Mathews
Anthony Davis

Lono 05-11-2010 11:37 AM

No way Weatherspoon busts.

Hoover 05-11-2010 02:18 PM

(9) Bills Spiller, C.J. RB 5'11" 196

(21) Bengals Gresham, Jermaine TE 6'5" 261
(25) Broncos (From Ravens) Tebow, Tim QB 6'3" 236
(30) Lions (From Vikings) Best, Jahvid RB 5'10"

'Hamas' Jenkins 05-11-2010 03:00 PM

Trent Williams
Tim Tebow
Devin McCourty
Tyson Alualu
Dez Bryant
Kareem Jackson

Nightfyre 05-11-2010 05:49 PM

I think Trent Williams is walking into a good situation with Shanahan. I think Alualu ends up being solid but unspectacular. Dez Bryant is my pick to bust hard. JPP landed with the giants, I have to believe there couldn't be a better place for him to wind up.

Gadzooks 05-11-2010 09:21 PM

Anyone else think tha #18 was kinda high for a Center? He could be a great center but that still wouldn't justify #18.

IMO.. i'm not saying the rest will all be studs, but these guys are guys i think will fall into nothingness in the NFL... backups or outta the league...

spanky 52 05-13-2010 09:43 AM

I'll say OT Williams and OT Davis. If Williams was drafted to play RT, he might work out but I don't think he'll do so good at LT. And Davis has too many question marks although he might do okay at RT if Staley stays at LT. Then again I thought Oher would sturggle last year so it show's I don't know much. We'll see.

Tebow

Pierre-Paul

Thomas

Best

Tempted to say McLain but he seems like a really solid pick.

Willie Lanier 05-14-2010 10:56 PM

Obviously Tebow's the easy pick in the first

Kareem Jackson's a comical pick to me, might be a sufficient 2 corner

I'll probably get criticized for saying this, but from the tape I've seen Anthony Davis looks like an interchangable right tackle to me...

and it's a bit difficult to say any of them are successes OR failures at this point. it's acknowledged that you can't judge a class until after the third year.

Tyson Alualu without a doubt. He belongs in a 3-4 as a DE and he should have been taken at least 10-15 picks later.

Jason Pierre-Paul (although I feel like he went to a perfect fit)

Derrick Morgan

Dan Williams

and TEBOW

Jason Pierre-Paul had an inconsistent start. He played in 12 games, but wasn't on the field much -- but really came on in the last six games of the season.

Pierre-Paul had five sacks, 30 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, four hits, 16 pressures, and six pass deflections. Not bad for a player that was considered raw.

I can only hope the Giants draft a big aggressive CB that can run next to the Bryants and the DeSean Jacksons in the NFL.

The Giants think big when it comes to players - whether its good at times -- I'm not sure. But that's how they think.

Yeah.....I guess it's horrible for someone to have an opinion. I noticed that you never posted who you thought would be a bust in this thread.

I must have missed it, but I did start the "Are You Smarter Then A Pioli Thread?" so we could all put our picks on record after the draft.

Besides that was more a dig at him as I think he was implying Tebow was not a bust as everyone predicted, which after 2 games I'm not sure how that works. We made Leinart look like a Pro Bowler in his first start.

COchief 04-06-2011 09:04 AM

Laughing at all the absolute morons who picked Suh, if ever there was a can't miss DT prospect, plus he turned in one of the greatest seasons for a rookie DT in history.

I see you didn't post your predictions......so STFU.

Time to revisit this thread again.

The Franchise 01-11-2012 11:23 AM

Damn.....a LOT of people thought Pierre-Paul would bust.

RealSNR 01-11-2012 11:40 AM

Three out of four OTs have been hardcore busts.

And people say taking a QB in the first round is a risky pick that can set a franchise back for years

Not a very impressive first round so far. How Bradford turns out could affect it, but hard to give A's to a lot of teams. A lot of the teams that took certain positions are still struggling bad at those positions.

Bump 01-12-2012 02:21 PM

Giants got the steal of that first round

Yeah I remember a lot of people on here saying he was an Al Davis pick, and that they hoped that The faiders would waste their pick on him. Kind of glad the draturbators missed on that one. I would not want to see him in Chokeland

Quesadilla Joe 01-12-2012 08:55 PM

A lot of people have egg on their faces when it comes to Tebow and Thomas. They just might be the two best offensive players out of that draft.

You really think Thomas is better than Dez Bryant? I also think Bradford will be pretty strong next year.

No. The Tebow project wont work long term. He wont be considered a "bust" but he'll never be a great QB. He'll be one of the most inconsistent QB's in NFL history.

Thomas is an absolute stud. Loved him coming out, and he is very, very good.

Dez Bryant hasn't exactly been a dud, especially last year. If Dez had Denver's other WR's and TE around him in DAL he would have even better stats. I guess you could also say that if Thomas had Romo he would have better stats.

As a Chiefs fan, I would rather have Thomas over Dez. DT is faster, bigger, stronger and has Calvin Johnson type upside. Both have had injury problems but if DT can stay healthy he can be one of the 5 best WR's in the game year in and year out.

I'm a ****ing Chiefs fan and even I can admit that Tebow is better than Bradford. How many playoff appearances does Bradford have? Bradford will never be able to lead a team anywhere because he is an injury prone pussy.

:spock:

Bradford had a sprained ankle because his OL couldn't block shit. At least he can complete over 50% of his passes with shitty WRs.

What does his completion percentage have to do with anything? The only thing that matters is wins, and Bradford hasn't had very many W's.
