Things to do in a Whale's Vagina

So - I'm going to be in San Diego for a week with my wife and her family. All the guys ended up bailing on the trip so it's me and a bunch of women. Anyone have any suggestions of guy things to do? We're taking the kiddo to the zoo and probably Sea World. I would like to take a day to myself for manly activities and am open to suggestions.

gotta stop by Rubios (fish tacos were invented there) for the best tacos in the world. One is by the campus of SDSU which isn't such a bad thing. Mission beach for some ocean activities is good.

vailpass 07-06-2010 03:02 PM

I have a suggestion: join the men and bail on the trip.

I would but the ticket has already been purchased and I'm looking forward to taking my daughter to the zoo and Sea World.

There's a huge navy base there, in case you didn't know, and I'm pretty sure some ships are open to the pbulic. Someone was mentioning that they visited an aircraft carrier there.

Also, if she's the right age and into them, there's LegoLand or whatever it's called.

Yep, the reason we're there is a wedding which happens to be taking place on said Naval Base.

oldtown is cool.

Reaper16 07-06-2010 03:30 PM

If I were in SD I'd be hitting up a shit-ton of breweries and beer bars.

bevischief 07-06-2010 03:37 PM

Go find a bar.

Isn't that haunted ship The Queen Mary there?

thats long beach

when are you going to be in SD?

sour fest is July 18th. Nothing but sours...$40 a ticket though, I'll be there

if youre here august 16th, stonefest. Already got my tickets since it sold out quick last year.

Other than that, go to the beaches. La jolla and Coronado are nice, more of a family atmosphere type thing. Nice scenery.. Go to PB for the college-older scene for Boardwalk beach and brew. lots of younger tail around

Balboa Park is a good place, lots to see there.

That's actually a disappointing bottle list to me for $40. There is nothing there that I can't either buy in KC or trade for pretty easily (the Russian River sours).

If "The Roaring 20's" strip bar still exists, stop by and see local skanks dance naked. Without the daughter of course.

boogblaster 07-07-2010 08:36 AM

skip the trip and go north on a fishing trip

The Midway is the aircraft carrier that you can tour, but it's not on the Naval Base. Very cool and worth the admission price.

Old Town is great

Coronado is phenomenal; I love staying at the Hotel Del. You should go wander the halls there... very old Victorian era hotel... creepy long halls; reminded me of The Shining.

Balboa Park is cool, but you'll be there when you take the kids to the zoo.

They have tours of the naval yards and the bay; can book them down at the docks next to the aircraft carrier (can't remember her title).

Hi, my name is Detoxing, and i'll be tourism guide for the day. SD Chiefs, Gadzooks, Buck and a few others will be along shortly to join us.

1. Gaslamp. Hit up the Bars downtown and enjoy the night life. W/o the children of course. You'll see so much fine ass out there that not even your wife could get mad, she'll be looking too.

2. PB (Pacific Beach). Great bars and all of them damn near on the beach. Similar to the gaslamp but much more sexy, it's a younger crowd and no dress code.

3. Beaches? The best beaches in SD are actually not in central SD. Drive 20-30 Minutes North to North County. Take Hwy 101 For nice scenic tour up the coast. Hell, maybe dont even drive at all. Ride the Coaster Train. North County is best for the So-Cal Beach experience. Everyone has a bangin' beach body, you can actually smell the salt water, beaches and sun tan lotion out there, unlike Central SD.

4. Like Shopping Malls? I know your wife does. Well, Within about 5-20 Minutes of downtown SD you can shop at Horton Plaza, Mission Valley, Fashion Valley, Plaza Bonita (My personal favorite) and that shitty mall in National city....whatever they call it.

5. Out doors kinda guy huh? Well, there are great hiking trails in Julian. Small, charming town that sometimes snows. It's where we go when we want to get away from the city. Like Apple Pies? Then you MUST go to Julian. Some of the best homemade pies and pastries in So-Cal.

6. Fresh Water Kinda guy? Well, there are lakes and fishing spots out here, but im not a fishing guy, so ask someone else. Or you can rent a boat and Salt Water fish.

7. Speaking of boats, you can take the boat from Seaport Village to Coronado Island, which is pretty cool. Short, 10 Minute ride across the SD Bay. I've taken it twice, both times we had Dolphins riding with us.

8. While you're there, check out the Midway. Carrier vessel turned into a tourist attraction.

9. Balboa Park. Like Museums? Well, Balboa Park pretty much has it all covered.

10. Go watch a Padres game. Hey, we're not doing to bad this year. The ball park is a 10 Minute walk from the Gaslamp, so is the Convention center.

11. Seriously, this list can go on forever. It's hard to be bored here unless you're A. Boring or B. Broke.

ToxSocks 07-07-2010 10:02 AM

Oh...And Casino's too. Viejas and Barona Casino are out here. There is also a race track at Barona. If you go to Viejas's, check out the shopping outlet. They always have killer deals on all name brand stuff.
