In all honesty, that ranking is way too high, imo. I bet they finish somewhere between 17-23. Not being a hater, just calling it based on how I see it.

I am a hater, but in all honesty, my hatred aside, their ranking is too high..

On another note, Oklahoma???? WTF???? they have no business being in the Top 10

Hopefully VT shuts up the Boise State morons early this year.

NEWCOMER TO WATCH: LB Chase Williams -- For immediate impact, no freshman might match Williams, the son of New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Chase Williams enrolled early and participated in spring drills, showing the smarts and physical skills which allowed him to have a great high school career. He'll see the field in a backup role right away, and could start if Lyndell Gibson is ineffective or gets injured.

Iowa ranked too high, makes me nervous...
TCU should be fun to watch this year...
Didn't Oregon lose their QB?.....
Boise returns 21 of 22 starters, hope VT beats them early so we don't have to hear talk of their weak-ass conference and gay blue field...

Come on college football we are ready for you!!

Yeah, didn't he got in on some sort of loophole where if a college offers a major your current school doesn't you don't have to sit a year? Now Masoli is something like a Park Ranger major. ROFL

That is why I wonder if Oregon isn't ranked a little too high.

Sam Hall 08-06-2010 10:48 AM

I'm torn about Nebraska being overrated. I think Nebraska has more talent than any team on its schedule, except Texas. This will also be a season in which few teams across the country will be consistently good. I don't see why Nebraska can't be a factor for a BCS game. Not the national title game, but a BCS game.

that would require them to win the Big12... dont see that happening when they lose to texas and make the big12 championship and lose to texas again..

I like our chances against Texas this year. There's more than a little motivation to beat the 'Horns.

teedubya 08-06-2010 10:56 AM

That would assish if Nebraska won the Big 12 and then left the conference. lol

If they somehow beat Vtech, they're going undefeated. Now would this be enough for a title game?

IMHO the Huskers fit into the B10 very nicely. As to the Hawks whipping their ass....I've sat in Kinnick and watched Nebraska wax our ass (42-13?) in 99 or 2000 so I'm not gonna' run a lot of smack on that. I agree it should turn into a nice rivalry.

With that travesty of a schedule? Hopefully the computers would know better than that as well as the human voters.

Yeah. I think he had to graduate from Oregon and then enroll in a graduate degree program at Ole Miss that wasn't offered at Oregon.

BWillie 08-06-2010 11:14 AM

Nebraska is overrated, but they may not lose alot of games so I can see them being ranked that high actually. They get to play against the Big 12 North, who quite frankly, is going to be terrible this year. Kansas sucks. Iowa State sucks. Colorado sucks. K-State sucks. Missouri will probably be okay, but they have alot to work on.

Titty Meat 08-06-2010 11:14 AM

Nebraska in the top 10 where they belong.

IMHO B12 and B10 are both fine conferences. UT is the alpha, OU holds their own and the drop-off is huge from there.
OSU is the B10 alpha, Michigan is usually right there but not lately, then there is a second tier in the B10 that is much better than the B12 second tier.

SEC is top dog.

SEC is top dog, agreed.. but after last year i have to say Big 10 is the #2.. Big 12 outside of Texas OU and Neb there is a HUGE drop off.. Big 10 has OSU, penn st, iowa, Wisc, Michigan(if they ever turn it around) then the drop off from there is not as significant as it is in the big 12.. add Neb to the big ten and have Michigan turn things around.. big ten is the best conference in the country.. Another thing against the big12 NO DEFENSE!! except for a select few teams.. thats my opinion on that matter

As an Iowa fan, I can't wait for Nebraska to play Iowa, but I would rather they stay in the Big 12, and they just play them in a non-conference game. Iowa has some problems recruiting as it is, but once Nebraska is in the Big 10 blueprint they could snag some recruits out of Michigan, PA, Ohio etc that Iowa is used to getting. If a kid can't go to OSU, Michigan, or Penn State...they can now go to another school w/ rich tradition and one that is in the Big 10. I don't think it helps Iowa out at all w/ Nebraska coming to the Big 10.

Another thing against the big12 NO DEFENSE!! except for a select few teams.. thats my opinion on that matter

Agree 100% with your assesment except IMO OU plays a pretty nice D usually and SEC is the best football conference from top to bottom.

As to Michigan: Rodriguez better win or go. I don't like how he runs his show, can see him getting UM into trouble. Michigan being a football power is good for all of the B10 IMHO.

I can see your point. Wonder where Nebraska recruits from now and if it is that different from what you describe above?

Nobody is even remotely saying the Blackshirts won't miss Suh or that Crick is better. Crick is a projected first-round pick, but Suh is the most decorated Blackshirt to ever put on the uniform.

The fact that we're discussing it means a lot.

Suh was worth at least 2 games last year for the Fuskers

Nebraska? Is Texas a new recruiting ground for them? I can't see how they would not have already been in TX.

Titty Meat 08-06-2010 12:36 PM

They recruit nationally thats why it's funny when people said leaving for the Big 10 would hurt them recruiting yet they've got one of the best classes next year.

I would certainly think that was the case. BWillie made a good comment that NU being B10 would infringe on some of Iowa's recruiting. Seems like they would both have been fighting at the same trough for years now.
OTOH there will certainly be some increased exposure for NU to kids Iowa is chasing but that will work both ways won't it?

If they lose to Miami I'll eat my shoe. Now, I can see them losing to Iowa, maybe Wisconsin, but that is it.

Of course they will, until the NCAA cracks down on over signing, I'd expect the SEC to continue to be the best.

Hahahaha I stay out of most of these threads, because my Buckeye allegiance gets me in trouble. Your post is hilarious though, Buckeye City will make a run at the title this year.

Iowa would be a long shot, Wisconsin I don't even view as a threat. Iowa always plays us tough, anybody has a chance, but the Buckeyes are loaded this year.

Yeah OSU looks awful good. Of course they look good every year.
Do the B10 a favor, would you? If you make it to the title game win the goddamn thing.

I do agree somewhat with this sentiment, but I think it falls almost equally on the O-Line, OState is a power running team. If we can dominate the LOS we have the RB's to dominate. I really hope Pryor will continue to develop and improve in the passing game, as long as he doesn't make major mistakes we will be in every game. Our defense is gonna be legit again, and this is the year our offense could rise to the level caliber of our defense. I love playing Iowa, its Big 10 football at it's finest, Iowa always has me holding my breath when we play you guys.

All he needs to do is not screw it up and let the rest of the talent take care of things for him.

The 2010 Haters Guide to the Top 25

Quote:

1. Alabama: Oh hey, look who's numero uno. It's Orange Satan and his little fiefdom of tardbilly mouthbreathers. I liked the Tide much better back in the old days, when Mike DuBose was bending receptionists over his desk. I don't need the state of Alabama to have any pride whatsoever. They should never be allowed to feel good about themselves. What the **** do you half-human mongoloid overall-wearing chimps have to be proud of? Congrats, your team finally won another title last year. That means you are now one year closer to Nick Saban bolting for Michigan and leaving you to pick up the pieces of your pathetic, awful, and empty lives, the kind of pointless existence that makes membership in the Aryan Nation all but an inevitability. And you know Bear Bryant? He's still ****ing DEAD. Super dead. Forever. Alabama is America's ass hair.
2. Ohio State: Oh, sweet ****ing Jesus, you people again? Haven't you people pissed away enough titles? Shouldn't you be banished to NAIA so that we don't have to see you lose the national title by 47 points to an SEC team? It's because of YOU that people from the South are actually starting to feel good about themselves again. That is crap.
I've been to Columbus. It's the kind of place no one would ever live voluntarily. You either live there because you can't afford to live anywhere else, or because the judge put a travel restriction on your DUI probation. Tear the roof off a ****ing Houlihan's, expand the size of it to 50 square miles, and that's Columbus. Just one big generic pile of shit. They should have just named it "City."
3. Boise State: America's Sweethearts, my ass. I'll be damned if I'm cheering from some dipshit team from the middle of Idaho. Let me ask you something: If everyone in Idaho died tomorrow, would you care? I mean, just DIED. A virus sweeps across the state and wipes out every last man, woman, and baby. Every Idahoan, dead in a puddle of their own shit and liquefied organs. Would you really give a crap? I say no. Oh, I'd turn on the news and say, "Oh, shit! All the Idaho people are dead. That sucks." Then I'd turn off the TV and eat a box of Teddy Grahams. I'd pretend to care in my mind, so that I wouldn't feel like the really shitty person that I am. But deep down? I wouldn't care. I wouldn't even care if I had relatives living there. If they were living in Idaho, they were probably relatives of mine that were all ****ing weird and creepy and lived in a compound. Or they were insufferable outdoorsy assholes. Or they were rich ****ers who skied. Either way, Idaho is pointless.
