DeezNutz 08-06-2010 07:08 PM

This team has sucked ass since Guillen left.

DeezNutz 08-06-2010 07:09 PM

And it's cool that we start: out, out.

Mecca 08-06-2010 07:10 PM

Can the Royals please bat Gordon 2nd and put Kendall somewhere better like say the bench?

Sam Hall 08-06-2010 07:15 PM

2012 can't get here soon enough.

dfa part 2?

Mecca 08-06-2010 07:30 PM

Well right now Kendall is a type B free agent, so that's a reason to keep him I guess.

thats... a condemnation of whatever metric is being used to determine that.

Because he calls a great game. /DM

BillSelfsTrophycase 08-06-2010 08:09 PM

At least Kila's starting

Not sure why he's at first over fatass though

BillSelfsTrophycase 08-06-2010 08:11 PM

Yuni should have a child born everyday

petegz28 08-06-2010 08:16 PM

Wouldn't want Butler to hustle or anything

VETERAN GRIT

alnorth 08-06-2010 08:17 PM

message to Bob Davis: you are not permitted to excitedly say that someone "cranks one" unless it is a no-doubt homer.

Mecca 08-06-2010 08:21 PM

He forgot that Seattle is a big stadium.

At this point I'm all for giving other guys a chance at first, Butler in the field is just disturbing, it's hard to field grounders with a beer belly.

Channeling Harry Caray I guess

There's a long drive to deep left............waaaay back......and caught by the second baseman

googlegoogle 08-06-2010 08:36 PM

This kila guy needs to hit the ball a little farther.

gblowfish 08-06-2010 08:43 PM

Bob Davis is a tool. He needs to be sent packing back to Lawrence.

petegz28 08-06-2010 08:46 PM

Kendall shot on the basepaths.....who'd a thunk?

googlegoogle 08-06-2010 08:50 PM

Grienke not backing up the 'I'm leaving because I'm too good' talk.

alnorth 08-06-2010 09:03 PM

end of the Omaha game is a bit weird. In the 9th inning, they decided to give up the designated hitter, 1B moved to the mound to pitch

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:18 PM

Cmon zack!

gblowfish 08-06-2010 09:18 PM

Zack getting pounded. Great....

petegz28 08-06-2010 09:18 PM

I think Greinke just don't give a **** anymore

Mecca 08-06-2010 09:18 PM

When you're getting pounded by Seattle that is not a good sign at all.

CaliforniaChief 08-06-2010 09:20 PM

They've swung at the first pitch something like 5 times so far and reached safely 4 times, including Langerhans' shot. Perhaps Zack can adjust before his contract ends.

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:23 PM

Rally time 2 on no out

DeezNutz 08-06-2010 09:23 PM

Gift. Looked out at first.

BillSelfsTrophycase 08-06-2010 09:24 PM

Come on Kendall, you worthless POS

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:25 PM

Jason Kendall has no business batting #2, what a dogshit bunt

BillSelfsTrophycase 08-06-2010 09:25 PM

petegz28 08-06-2010 09:25 PM

God damn I hate Kendall...

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:27 PM

Luke ****ing french is owning us, really

BillSelfsTrophycase 08-06-2010 09:27 PM

JFC

petegz28 08-06-2010 09:27 PM

That's two innings Kendall has killed tonight.

People who work in sports overvalue stupid things like "Grit" over actual production.

CaliforniaChief 08-06-2010 09:34 PM

What the heck. I'm calling it. Kila goes yard this AB.

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:35 PM

Kila "FUUUUUUCK!"

Fail

Mecca 08-06-2010 09:38 PM

Why are they having this Billy/Kila who plays 1st debate? Isn't it pretty apparent to anyone with eyes that Billy Butler shouldn't be in the field unless it's absolutely unavoidable?

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:39 PM

Butler is average on his best day, he is a DH, period

Al Bundy 08-06-2010 09:41 PM

Having Kendall and Bloomquist in the lineup together always equals a loss... those 2 suck.

CaliforniaChief 08-06-2010 09:43 PM

And ultimately, 1B is Eric Hosmer's position. I think they felt guilty having such a young guy being the DH. If Kila can produce, let him play 1B every night and let Billy be the DH. That's his role from now on.

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:44 PM

Zack pitching like he dont give a fugg..cmon man

Mecca 08-06-2010 09:44 PM

If Kila could actually develop into a hitter then Hosmer could end up in the OF, hes actually capable defensively.

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:47 PM

So according to Ryan and Frank, zack is hurting david and daytons feelings?

that said maybe zack shouldn't have said shit but who knows

Mecca 08-06-2010 09:49 PM

I'm sure Zack really cares about the feelings of the guys who he basically railed for not putting together a better team.

That said, they did coddle the **** out of him too, even when he 'quit'...but sometimes shit like this needs to be public but i bet his teammates even if they suck dont appreciate it.

Mecca 08-06-2010 09:51 PM

Greinke is joining their suck parade tonight.

tk13 08-06-2010 09:51 PM

Yeah, except for the part where some people would've told Zack to take a hike when he quit and let him rot into "never was" oblivion... this organization has done nothing for him.

he is what he is. I might wonder about it with other players, but this isn't Zack finally getting annoyed enough to tactlessly gripe.

There are two things that have always been true about him. 1) he hates interviews and will try to avoid them. 2) When he does decide to talk to the press, he has no filter. You ask him a question, you don't get a cliche, you get the honest truth out of him whether you are ready to hear it or not.

I dont think he's sending a message. He decided to talk to a reporter, the reporter asked a question, he answered it.

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:53 PM

Zack certainly showing he's interested tonight, i mean 2 hits to chone figgins

DeezNutz 08-06-2010 09:53 PM

Given his natural ability, most, if not all, ML teams would have held his hand, too.

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:54 PM

Aviles is awesome

It's the Royals and at that time they had even less to be excited about than they do now, it's not like they were the Yankees that could go yea we'll replace you for being a ****up now get out.

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:57 PM

Willie Bloomquist is worthless

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:58 PM

1 run 9 hits lmao

Mecca 08-06-2010 09:59 PM

Why is Willie Bloomquist on an AL team I could see his value to an NL team but an AL team?

I think games like this just show that the Royals are streaking, streaking for the #1 pick.

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 09:59 PM

ok wtf, Sweeney batted cleanup tonight for the phillies

Thats an impossible dream. The pirates and orioles have a hammer-lock on the top 2 picks.

It's always negative with you. Everything that goes well is some offshoot of some other negative. I think some teams would've handled it well, some wouldn't. There are a lot of hardasses out there who don't like quitters... Mike Shanahan types, if you will. It doesn't always work out. It's not like anybody coddled Roscoe Crosby when he threw his career away.

heh, he's not that negative.

Maybe on this board, but on other Royals boards there are some pricks who ostensibly are Royals fans, but either for laughs or because of emotional baseball scarring in early Royal fan-dom, they are so aggressively negative that its almost a parody.

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 10:11 PM

Sure-Oz 08-06-2010 10:11 PM

Yeah, I would be angry most of the time if I was forced to post over at Royals Corner. But at least they could tell me the lower intestinal UZR of the pancakes I had for breakfast while torturing Emil Brown with bees Wicker Man style as all the women wore Aaron Guiel masks.

I think you bring good comedy value to the board, or else I would.

Mecca 08-06-2010 10:24 PM

I haven't even been all that negative about anything in awhile, I don't think pointing out that the Royals stuck with Grienke because they had nothing to lose being a bad team is being negative.

I don't think saying the Royals minors look really good but until Moore figures out how to actually sign productive major league players I'll remain skeptical of their ability to compete in a few years.

He's only been in the major leagues for 27 years. He hasn't had time to learn the art of the bunt yet.
