That was good. i always like the second version of crazy train with Randy Rhodes on guitar.

InChiefsHeaven 08-27-2010 07:46 AM

Me too, especially the ending. The kid was playing the polka dot flying V, Ozzy hoists him on his shoulder...almost sacrilegious, but I think the kid did a close enough job to warrant it...

Sofa King 08-27-2010 07:47 AM

How sweet would it be to be in that kids position... I'm not the biggest fan of Ozzy but he does some nice shit every once in awhile...

Bane 08-27-2010 07:48 AM

That kid doesn't even have long hair, no way he is going to make it as a "Rock Star"

The Franchise 08-27-2010 09:17 AM

Match made in heaven......neither one of them can understand each other.

arrowheadnation 08-27-2010 09:21 AM

He first met the kid on Ellen. She had him on there to show off his guitar skills and Ozzie came out from back stage. The kids jaw dropped to the floor. It was cute.

I am absolutely SHOCKED that the kid is Japanese.

InChiefsHeaven 08-27-2010 09:50 AM

The guitar is almost as big as he is. that's amazing in itself. A ten year old hand shouldn't be about to do the things he does. That's a special talent, and he's totally set. As long as he stays away from the drugs...

DaneMcCloud 08-27-2010 11:25 AM

Um, Gus was doing all the squeals and riffs. The kid did a decent rendition of the solo but it's certainly nothing you can't hear by going into any Guitar Center in Cali.

Bugeater 08-27-2010 11:29 AM

Isn't it illegal for all those people to be filming that? Christ, everyone in the crowd has a camera going. Not to mention that it's pointless because you get shitty quality video.

Yeah, that's fine. But let's not proclaim him to be some sort of savant.

If you go to any GC in SoCal or to the NAMM show in Anaheim in any given year, you'll see the same thing ad nauseam.

It doesn't mean that those kids will become songwriters, producers or artists. It just means they have good coordination and IMO, something like this is far less impressive than the 10 year old that can play anything by Bach, Beethoven, etc.

Not all of us live in SoCal or go to the NAMM ad nauseam to see anything like this.

I'm 37 and have very little guitar skills. This kid to play something like that @ 10 is extraordinary.

Props to the little dude, I hope he has a great career in music.

When I saw Paul McCartney a month ago they encouraged people to take pics/video and post it on his website. Of course, I found out about it after the concert.

BTW, probably the best concert I've ever seen, and I've seen damn near everyone worth their weight.

Huh, I remember back in the day all concert tickets specifically said "Absolutely no recording devices allowed" on the back of them. I've only been to one in the past ten years so maybe things have changed.

Stupid midwestern rubes, no wonder you guys have such an affinity for hair metal and lack the ability to distinguish talent for coordination. :D

Iowanian 08-27-2010 04:10 PM

Ozzy is getting soft. In 19 seventy frickin 9 he'd have bitten that kids head off at the end of the song.

Every one in SoCal is SOO much cooler and more awesome and stuff, this kind of thing happens every day. Kids not on the crazy train he's on the fast train to success. He is getting major exposure, millions of hits and playing on stage with Ozzy ****ing Osbourne at 10 years of age playing Rhandy Rhodes material on a guitar bigger than him. Dane may not be impressed but I sure as hell am. Does it guarantee he will be a future rockstar, no but he is about as far down his chosen path as he can get for his age. Sharon Osbourne is one hell of a promoter as well I might add (Ozzfest) and based upon the fact that he is playing with Ozzy on stage even if it's only one song once something tells me he just might have exposre to all kinds of top metal band openings in a few years.

Dane has a point. There are probably three to seven kids (probably not as young as ten years old though) in everyone's hometown that can nail the solo to "Crazy Train." A competent guitar player is not hard to find.

What do YOU do for a living that makes you the ultimate judge in any form of talent?

Unlike you, I'm very happy to see an extremely talented kid get the recognition he deserves. Even if he doesn't make a living doing what he loves, he was given the opportunity to meet his idol and play on stage in front of a packed house.

I'm not going to pretend to know how many 10 year olds are that good but how many of them are on TV getting millions of hits and playing with Ozzy onstage? Just saying, kids getting exposure, making connections and on the right track. He is pretty impressive as well.

Rausch 08-28-2010 12:38 PM

Ozzy can't keep up with the 10 year old ready to schred...

A month from now, nobody will remember it.

Lzen 08-28-2010 01:55 PM

I think its pretty damn impressive. If there were 10 year olds on every street corner shredding to Crazy Train, sure it wouldn't be anything special. But that is not the case. Is the kid perfect at it? No. But I have not seen too many kids this age that can play like that. And neither have most other people.

Brock 08-28-2010 02:03 PM

Go google "child guitar prodigy". There's about a million of them. I'm vastly more impressed by kids who "shred" Bach and Beethoven on a classical acoustic.

I know who he is, and used to love him but lost all respect for him after seeing The Osbournes. Just because you're capable of getting up on stage doesn't mean you should. He's like the Willie Mays of heavy metal...

BTW , I love Ozzy, saw him in Wichita back around 1980. There was a huge gang fight in the concert where people were ambulanced out. Acid/Crown Royal/Hash , those were the days.

Personally knows Brad Pitt
And damn near everyone and anybody that has anyhting to do with the preforming arts including music/actors.

Close enough for a base hit Dane??

He may know music, but give a young kid props for working hard doing something that he loves to do. So what if he isn't the best person doing what he does. I wish the young fella nothing but luck and that he continues to improve as he gets older with more publicity. Being a kid at that age and meeting Ozzy face to face on Ellen will be a memory the kid takes to his grave. But, getting up on stage with his idol and playing in front of a packed house must have made the kid feel like he was on top of the world.

Heh. You know, the day that Dane thought highly of me is the day I realize that I'm definitely headed in the wrong direction.

I don't get drawn into pissing matches typically. this is the 2nd one, the first I think was with Ultra Peanut in DC during the election. I just have better things to do.

You're a hypocritical ****ing asshole that's insulted me, unprovoked. You've accused me of hating Christians (because I support the property rights owners in NY) and you've insulted me because of the state in which I reside.

You're a ****ing asshole, through and through. Nice to see you've fooled yourself (and probably a more than a few others).

Go **** yourself with your precious "CD".

ROFL

**** off.

Oh, and BTW: My life ****ing destroys yours. No competition, no comparison.

****ing obliterates.

It must, what with all the energy you waste spitting all your vitriol out on the web. It must just rule.

Anyway I think the kid is a good guitar player. Especially for his age. Just sayin'.

Damn son, get a life. Seriously. I'm not much for pissing matches or personal attacks. If I said something to you specifically, I was probably in a bad mood. The fact that you have carried this with you and remember it, well...apparently you do care what I think. Or you feel the need to be the BIGMAN on the web. Either way, put me on iggy. I honestly don't give you a second thought.

Really. I'm sorry you feel the way you do. But I just can't bring myself to care.

Of course you don't.

You're a typical hypocritical "Christian" piece of ****ing shit.

You attack others at will but when called on it, retreat and make excuses.

And yes, I listened to your "music" when Joe linked your band and sadly, it's lame. ****ing lame vocals, lame phrasing and lame songs. The type of songs you write pretty much began and ended with KISS in the 70's.

It was a waste of my time.

As are you.

:shake:

Again, typical. I'm sure you know everything about the music business in general, which is why you've sold 2 million records.

LMAO

And FWIW, I'm older than you, Dummy.

But go ahead and continue to be your usual, hypocritical, condescending self.

Apparently, that's what you do best.

Hands down.

No argument.

Your ears suck worse than your songs or your singing. No surprise.

Gus is playing the rhythm guitars, the squeals and all the riffs in between the verses and choruses.

The 10 year old kid is buried in the mix, even when he solos. He does the original Rhodes solo, although his timing is off. It's a simple solo, something kids in the early 80's learned routinely. We're not talking "Over The Mountain", we're talking "Crazy Train".

Once again, you prove yourself to be completely inept and unable to distinguish fact from fiction.

No surprise.

Don't be so f***ing full of yourself, Dane. Yeah you have a high paying job... BIG ****ing DEAL!!! Money doesn't make you the better man.

Considering you can't tell the difference between the 10 year-old and Gus G., I'm not surprised.

Although I'd wager that anyone that's seen you perform live or purchased one of your amazing CD's, would whole-heartedly agree.

Ouch.

At least we know you stand tall with hypocritical "Christians".

Go **** yourself.

I'm sure everyone in the trailer park is waiting for a show.

Chiefaholic 08-29-2010 09:45 PM

**** off, Dane. You'll get yours eventually.

LMAO

Not likely.

But keep wishing, asshole.

It's probably all you've got.

And the mods need to strip your username.

How can a Chiefaholic only have 1,700 posts in more than 10 years?

Oh, I've got it!!!!

Butt hurt.
