Do you get to watch every Chiefs game?
Poll to follow
|
tivo is a hell of a drug
|
When the team is halfway decent they show them all here. But the last few years they've been occasionally showing other games the last half of the season.
|
Just moved to Columbia...I have no idea if I'll get the Chiefs on the days when the Rams are playing an AFC team.
|
the big-lousy .. wichita shows all me games
|
Have Season Tickets, pay enough that I feel obligated to go to all of them. And all the away games are on TV, so yes... I watch them all.
|
I only watch the wins...

I moved to Arizona, but I want NFL Sunday Ticket bad. Last year I had to go to the sports bars or watch them online. When we get more on our feet I'm getting the ticket. I went forever without having to go to sports bars or watch them online. I miss just being able to turn the tv on and boom they're there. I don't think I've missed a game in a very long time though.
|
btw, is it too late to get NFLST?

I get a a few on TV every year, notably when they play Denver. What I don't manage to watch on TV I stream
|
Yeah I should have probably put: Able to watch some games on TV at home, but then the rest online, sports bar or friends house.

Being in WY, we get a few other AFC west games. |
Only twice I havent been able to watch the Chiefs on local tv. 2003 against Detroit and 2004 against Atlanta. Rams were good back then and FOX affilates in both Springfield and Columbia showed the Rams.

I'm sensing some blackouts this year, unless they play a lot better than I expect.

I've watched every Chiefs game back to the early 70's when I was a toddler and kid growing up.
My dad was in the Super Bowl band with Tony DiPardo (a lifelong family friend). We went to nearly every game in the awful 70's and 80's. In the 90's, I'd drive an hour to catch a Chiefs game on a 19" TV, 50 foot away in some dopey corner. In 2003, we bought our home and have had Direct TV since the day we moved in. I NEVER miss games. EVER. |

I'd always run into a guy less than half a mile from my home, higher up on the hill from me. Totally cool guy, lean, in his 60's. One day, he was telling me about his trip to Sicily and how cool it was, plus, there was a new Sicilian restaurant in Hollywood (that is unbelievably rare - everything's Northern Italian out here). So I asked: "Are you Italian?". He replied, "No, I'm Sicilian from Kansas City". I said "You are SHITTING me! Did you grow up on the North End? Did you know my dad (xxxxxx)? Did you know Frank Ancona?" He said "Did I know your Dad? Holy SHIT, yeah! And I used to LIVE at the Ancona's, literally!". The guy is a very well respected college professor and is one of the funniest ****ing people I've ever met. And, he's from KC. Small ****ing world. |

I remember Ancona, pretty sure dad used to do biz with him & knew him personally. |

I don't think I've missed a game in at least 15 years.
|
yes i do,i just hope its less painfull this year! go chiefs!
|
Sunday ticket for the last 8 years :cuss:
|
I used to have Directv and the Ticket. Now I have a new job that requires me to work Sundays.
|
I go to a bar every week.
|
Yes.I honestly can't remember the last KC game that I missed.
|
Lrt's just say the Chiefs game is always on,but with 7 tv's I have to admit if it's late in the season and KC sucks I'll move their game to a small tv and watch a play-off implication game on the big screen.
|
It's a mixed bag for me.
Most of their games are on TV for me but I'd say I average about 6 games a season or so that I have to stream because they have another pro game on instead. :( |
I watch every game that is on TV. In other words, I expect to miss a few this year.
|
This year I get too watch it on my 42 inch Zenith:D.
I'm happy I live close enough to KC that if I can get tickets and gas money I can tailgate, also don't have to worry about black outs. It's a consperacy when something comes up (mostly family issues or events) that make me miss a game. My ex wifes were bad about that allways trying to make me miss a GD game. They know how much it is to me, just like breathing air. I do every thing I can not to miss a Chiefs game. This year am trying to catch as many college games as I can too. Last year being homeless sucked but didn't miss a Chiefs game. Went to the local pub, was happy the games were at noon all year. BBQ, chips & alvocado dip, Chiefs Football Hell yea!!! |

Mostly listen to the games on the internet, although 2009 was an unusual year for me since I got to see the Chiefs live twice (Balt/Wash).
Used to go to the bar, but they usually have the Chiefs game on the smallest screen or one tucked in a corner so they can highlight all the local teams. I'd rather grab some micro-brew, a bag of chips and salsa and listen to Mitch and Lenny on the internet. |
I don't live in the area, I refuse to pay for Sunday Ticket since I work a lot of Sundays. I used to go to a pretty good sports bar on the Sundays I was off but they closed up shop and turned it in to an Irish Pub.
I need to find a good sports bar that isn't so full of obnoxious Charger fans. All it will take is for them to have a crappy year and the Band Wagon will unload pretty damn quick. |
Moved to OKC in 2006, Chiefs were on all the time. Even the preseason... When DV retired, we lost all the games and the preseason, had to get Sunday Ticket... Cant imagine why.
Now that they are turning back around from the depths of hell. We will probably get them here more often. But still have Sunday Ticket just in case. |

Made my own stand on the deck, put it back far enough that it still would get signal... Made a couple of cable anchors, screwed them to the floor of the deck and was off and rolling.... |
Streaming on the laptop and bitching in the game thread FTW!

I've got the Sunday ticket. I have had it for many years. But my interest is not near as great as it once was. I'm must be getting old or something.
|
I used to be firmly against putting any sports on PPV, But I think the NFL would stand to make a boat load of money if they would open up the market. The fan base has grown to where more and more fans live out of an area. NFLST is a very expensive proposition for someone who works 2 or more Sundays a month. But if I could pay a reasonable price to watch the games on days that I am off I would be all over it.

I have the opportunity to watch every game, but haven't paid for cable in a few years and of course I don't have a DVR, so I think last year I only watched 4 or 5 from beginning to end, including the 3 I went to. The "must see every game" mentality is long lost, and I don't have the patience to sit through 1.5 hours of commercials to watch a 1.5 hour game if I don't get tickets, and I'm not spending 3 hours at a sports bar watching crap football like the Chiefs/Raiders unless there's a much better game on next to it. I'll probably end up at 4 or 5 this year, and catch a couple on justin.tv or at a bar.
|
Seen em all but the miami game a few years back.
somewhere theres a thread where the KC game was gonna be blacked out for a stl. game. I posted the NFl offices # and all hell broke loose. good stuff. |
I have seen every game regular and pre-season
Since 1989 with the exception of one. I think it was 1990 the Lions came to KC and the Local CBS station up here didn't show it. Other than that our NBC station always showed the Chiefs until ST came out and have had that ever since. |
I go to every home game, and occasional away games. The rest I watch at the bar. Last game I missed was the night game against New England, November like 4 yrs ago, Maybe 5 years ago, because I was locked up. Total bummer man.

Where is the option that says I have season tickets so I go to every home game but watch every away game at home in my man cave.
|
I can't remember the last game I haven't watched or attended. That includes the blacked-out Cleveland game last year that I had to stream over the Internet. That was a pain, but it sort of worked.
|
Unfortunately, I'm a glutton for punishment so I watch all the games. Either I hit my buddy's house who has Sunday Ticket or hit a local sports bar. If I'm too hung over from the night before sometimes I'll just stream 101 the Fox and listen to Lenny.

Watch every Chiefs game??
Hell I don't hate my self that much :D |
We had our house built in '96, moved in in '97 & I immediately put up a dish so I could get the ticket. Been getting it ever since. Before that when Seattle was in the AFC West I was able to go up to the Kingdome once a year.
Before that I drove OTR & depending what part of the country I was in I'd shut her down on Sundays if I could get a Chiefs game. Nowadays drivers' have dishes & can get whatever they want. Also while driving I was able to hook up with a friend & go to Arrowhead a few times. Great time. |
Poll is flawed. So, I voted, NO the Chiefs suck ass.

Living in Denver, I can generally get at least a half-dozen games at home because they'll tend to show AFC West games even if the lying cheating Broncos aren't involved. I think my record for at-home games was ten or so back when the Chiefs won more often than every leap year. For the games I can't see at home, I go to a sports bar, where I can watch it even if I can't always get the sound. If you're a good football fan, you don't need sound.

Hey, Is anybody else having trouble with Springfield's Fox network? I've got Direct TV HD, live in NC Arkansas and the actual game picture only covers like 60% of my screen. Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful to get it, but I know that CTN has a good HD picture now because I've watched re-runs on NFL Network. But the feed through Springfield is terrible. I have written complaints to KSFX, but still nothing. Is there anything that I can do, settings, etc?
