Here's the list of the Chiefs first practice squad:
What do you think of the practice squad? About what you expected? |
I thought the might bring Lokey back but other than that it's about what I expected.
|
|
Was Garrett Brown originally cut by us or was he on another team? What is the scoop on this kid?
|
harris
cool |
Over half our practice squad are folks who didn't make it on our team.
So... let's bring them back in, shall we? |

How long has this guy been filling the back end of our roster? Isn't this his third season here? Just give the guy a ****ing shot. |

He was picked up by us as an UDFA rookie that played last season at the University of Minnesota. One of those guys that could have went in the fourth round or undrafted. He was the later. Purportedly a good guy, a very hard worker that needs to get stronger in the weight room and on the field, but has some potential, i.e., practice squad material. |

Pierre Walters is a better LB than that Justin Cole guy. I've never even ****ing heard of him.
|

He was also a pretty productive player at SJSU. |
Cole was strong on special teams.
I've seen absolutely nothing out of Walters that justifies keeping him. |

Oh, and Pierre Walters has done........well, nothing. |

Herron popped up on the replay. And now has been cut. |

#57 unless the ref got the number wrong. |

I had never heard of Tucker before, but he actually looked pretty decent in the Green Bay game.

would be pretty surprised if he doesn't play for us at some point this year |
can someone tell me what the Chiefs see in Palko??

just curious how much money do practice squad players make?

This will be his second season in the league. This is exactly what I predicted yesterday. He was starting before the injury and rather than place him on IR (where he'd be lost for the year) or the PUP (six weeks), he can now practice with the team (or not) and can be placed on the active roster at any time. |
It's utterly ****ing amazing to me that Scott Pioli burned a 5th round pick on Colin Brown last year when he most likely would have gone undrafted.
Then, he stashes him on IR for the year, even though the severity of the injury was never mentioned. A year later, the ****ing guy isn't even worth putting on the Practice Squad? Are you kidding me? Nice scouting, Pioli. |

Call me a "Drafturbator" or "Draftabulator" or whatever you'd like, but the bottom line is that is that I correctly predicted the awful nature of our 2009 NFL draft (along with Goff, Thomas, Engram, et al). I wish I had been wrong. Or at least, I wish someone had paid me $5 million a year in 2009 to be right. If Tyson Jackson and Alex Magee continue to tread water, it will set this franchise back even further because they'll need at least two more 3-4, 5 tech defensive ends before truly being able to compete, along with at least one inside linebacker and a QB. More to the point, the Chiefs will need the same exact players in 2011 as they drafted/traded for in 2009. |
Quote:
Not to defend him in any case, since ultimately it is his ass on the line, but this year was drafted much (we hope) better than last. |
Darryl Harris...the Dane McCloud dream lives on.

The Chiefs scouts turned in their reports, which Pioli promptly tossed in the trash. He used all of his reports compiled by New England's scouts for the 2009 draft. |
Quote:
I just hope that someday soon, he owns the position and keeps it for a decade. |
The scouting excuse pisses me off to no end. Isn't scouting and assessing talent a year long job? I don't care if you change teams you should be aware of what talent is out there and draft accordingly. There is no excuse to draft that poorly given the fact that Pioli was supposed to be the best available GM out there. JFC.

The Chiefs have too much money invested in TyJack and Cassel than to just cut them after one year (that would be $30 million out the door with minimal to no return on investment). I guess they'd rather shell out another $30 million before determining their fate. |
Quote:
There's still some conjecture that Jackson maybe needs to get that message, too, but I can't say either way on that. As far as Cassel goes, the problem with cutting him now is that he was the only first string QB throughout the offseason and preseason it would leave Croyle as the only QB on the roster. If they were going to make that move, it needed to be done in March, not now. |
Quote:
The only good moves Pioli has made other than the Thomas Jones signing have been SUCH gimmes. Cutting Mike Brown, signing Lilja (representing offensive line help), Chambers, drafting Eric Berry, etc. These are all moves 99.9% of the tards here on Chiefsplanet would have made. They're so obvious. No amount of NFL experience was necessary to make these choices. People said, "PIOLI IS REDEEMED" with the home run pick of Berry. Uhh... no, not really. Scott Pioli wouldn't have been able to show his face at an NFL executive meeting without others pointing and laughing at him if he didn't pick. Hell, he's made so many goddamn mistakes that he probably wanted to take some asshole like Okung but instead drafted Berry out of fear. I will give him credit. His personal connections did land us two pretty damn good coordinators. All of his other moves have been dogshit. |
Quote:
There are some here that think Cassel won't be cut in 2011, regardless of his 2010 performance because that would mean Pioli admitting defeat. I'm not to condemn him at this point but it'll be interesting to see how it plays out. But IMO, there is no reason why Magee should be on the squad. None. |

which would probably mean we keep him for 4 years and all the pats fans, pioli zombies, and pawnsmokers spend two more years celebrating the time we're wasting on a fraud... and then we start all over again in 2012 i honestly believe this is the most probable series of events...and it makes me want to kill all the candy and sunshine in the world |

He used the info he had accumulated from the Patriots scouts while still in New England and brought in a buddy to help him conduct the draft. That '09 draft is all on Pioli. |

Gretz reported that Pioli tossed the Chiefs scouting reports in the trash and used information strictly gathered by his New England people for the 2009 selections. It's a fact. |

Although as I've said a number of times, I think a significant issue with the '09 draft was the '09 draft class itself, which I believe was a historically poor collection of talent as a whole. But that's just my opinion. |
