BWillie 09-21-2010 03:46 PM

It appears pro football talk is indicating the same thing

Basileus777 09-21-2010 03:48 PM

Vick is clearly a better QB than Kolb, but I figured they'd give the young guy a few more weeks to show why he isn't an NFL starter before they went this direction.

allen_kcCard 09-21-2010 03:48 PM

Fux. Figures when I drafted kolb in FF and was too low in the waivers to get Vick last week.

CaliforniaChief 09-21-2010 03:49 PM

My fantasy team rejoices.

talastan 09-21-2010 03:50 PM

How many here would take Kolb over Cassel? :hmmm:

blaise 09-21-2010 03:51 PM

That was a no brainer.

Shogun 09-21-2010 03:52 PM

We should've scooped him up with all of that extra money

ShowtimeSBMVP 09-21-2010 03:53 PM

Adam_Schefter From the way the Eagles are handling this Mike Vick announcement, it sounds as if he has won the job for good. Amazing.

Frazod 09-21-2010 03:53 PM

I wonder if McNabb's rethinking that whole "Let's bring Mike in!" thing?

RealSNR 09-21-2010 03:55 PM

Lesean McCoy owners rejoice. Vick makes that running game work.

Stewie 09-21-2010 03:55 PM

Vick has looked really good. Now that defenses can scheme against him I wonder how good he'll be.

He won't be playing the Lions every week either. Still, he's better than Kolb, especially behind that shaky oline.

DMAC 09-21-2010 03:58 PM

Welcome to the playoffs, Philly.

Rain Man 09-21-2010 03:59 PM

Apparently Andy Reid took Kolb outside and killed him with a shovel.

Donger 09-21-2010 04:00 PM

What is philly shooting for Locker this year? Hell playing detroit would make cassel look like the a young Joe Montana. But the simple reality is, while vick is an outstanding athlete, he always has, and always will be a terrible QB. Top 10 pick for Philly this year.

Demonpenz 09-21-2010 04:10 PM

Thig Lyfe 09-21-2010 04:12 PM

Hahaha holy shit

ZootedGranny 09-21-2010 04:17 PM

Reid making a smart decision, a rarity for him.

I think it's the right way to go for now, but I can't wait for how quickly they'll turn on Vick once he has a shit game.

Sure-Oz 09-21-2010 04:18 PM

Michael Vick-QB- Eagles Sep. 21 - 5:44 pm et

The Eagles announced that Michael Vick will take over as the starting quarterback starting this week at Jacksonville.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen and CSN Philly's Derrick Gunn both have sources confirming that the decision is permanent and has nothing to do with Kevin Kolb's health. Perhaps Andy Reid came to the conclusion after watching game film showing that Vick was undeniably a superior option going forward. The Jaguars have perhaps the league's most burnable secondary, leaving Vick as an elite QB1 option for a second straight week. If you snagged him off the waiver wire last week, well done. You have a weekly starter.

BIG_DADDY 09-21-2010 04:21 PM

**** I just got rid of him in my FFL because of Reid. :cuss:

Never did like that guy

kstater 09-21-2010 04:33 PM

So they got rid of McNabb to start Vick?

I imagine they are just cutting their losses at this point, besides, they got 2 draft picks for McNabb.

The Eagles just want black quarterbacks to succeed.

It wasn't the plan, but sometimes you gotta say screw the plan.

Gonzo 09-21-2010 06:19 PM

Heh, I guess the nfl network had a typo on their crawl earlier. They were announcing the opposite.

The first thing that crossed my mind when they signed Vick was that they were possibly hedging their bets in case Kolb was a pile of shit.

No.

Against the Browns defense that was ranked 31 last year, Cassel threw no TDs, and 2 interceptions.

Matt Cassel is pathetic. He could not lace Mike Vick's shoes on his BEST day.

ziggysocki 09-21-2010 08:36 PM

I had a feeling when they named Kolb the starter, that it was the least controversial way to make Vick the starter -- indirectly. Avoid all the controversy. Start Kolb, who had a couple nice games, wait for him to fail-yank him stick Vick in against a shitty team and tada... new starter. And FWIW, I would take Vick over Cassel.

Chiefs Pantalones 09-21-2010 10:03 PM

I've always believed you start whoever gives you the best chance to win. But because he's a piece of shit who deserves to get eaten alive by dogs and shouldn't even be in the league, or in society, I think Kolb should start. I'm not a fan of piece of shit people.

Mecca 09-21-2010 10:07 PM

After the way he played the first 2 games, he deserves to keep playing.

Also think they can trade us Kolb? That might make us a playoff contender.

Eh, he said he's sorry. Time to let it go. It's not like he's Leonard Little.

I don't care. For someone to be sick enough to do something like that, he needs 24/7 counseling. Is he really sorry, or is he sorry he got caught? We'll never know I guess.

I wouldn't mind trading for Kolb...

blaise 09-21-2010 10:16 PM

I don't hold it against Vick. He served his time. I do get sick of some of his fans though. When he wins it's, "Hey, all he does is win games" but when he loses it turns into, "They don't know how to use him".

Mecca 09-21-2010 10:22 PM

Yea he paid his debt to society, I figure it's time to move on from all that.
