Where to get a gold parking pass for Sunday?

I'm flying in from out of town with my brother on Saturday morning.

I'm staying in Independence. Is there any stores I can snag a gold parking pass from that's close to there?

aturnis 09-21-2010 09:49 PM

What does Gold get ya?

DaFace 09-21-2010 10:41 PM

I'm no expert on this stuff, but I believe that parking passes only come with season tickets, so you can't buy them in a store unless you're talking about scalpers. You might be able to find them on eBay or craigslist I suppose.

Phobia 09-21-2010 11:18 PM

Why does anybody need a specialty parking pass? You're gonna walk some no matter where you park.

Mr. Flopnuts 09-21-2010 11:21 PM

Is there anyway to get out of paying to park all together? Certainly there's some place to park and walk in, right?

If it's the same as Kauffman they'll stop everybody else to let you through if you've got a gold pass. It allows you to get into the stadium much more quickly.

Ride the bus. You'll pay for it, of course, but it's a lot cheaper. They'll get you up to the front pretty quickly, too. Lots of people just park on the grass outside of the stadium, too. You'd walk a ways, but it'd be free.

You can't park for free anywhere close to any stadium anywhere.

I'll be driving up from Springfield, so parking outside would be the way to go I think. I just wasn't sure if I could park on that grass out there for free. I don't mind walking, I was just curious if it was even an option. I'm an Arrowhead n00b, where exactly is the free grass at? :bong:

I never, ever paid to park when attending Seattle sporting events. I'd walk 2-3 miles and park somewhere for free. Luckily, my shit never got broken into either. :D

I wouldn't know anything about that. Nope. Not at all. You have to pay. Everybody has to pay.

I agree. But if there were anywhere free to park, it would only be about 1/4 of a mile from Monty's tailgate. In an ideal world.

Bugeater 09-21-2010 11:29 PM

I'm not saying DRU doesn't know what he's talking about, but I'd be very leery of leaving my vehicle on someone else's property without their consent. I'd rather pay the parking fee and know my car is going to still be there after the game.

2-3 miles does not fall into the category of "anywhere close".

What about state property where it says you can park but you have to be 10' from the road?

So there's an actual permanent sign posted on the premises that says it's ok?

Ahem. I thought you were getting in on the RV action.

Otherwise, there's some outside of Gate 6, I believe.

I just assumed it would be filled up at least as long as the Chiefs were winning. I'll happily jump on that bad boy should I be able to find a ticket at a price I can afford to pay and there's room left. I just don't know when or if I'll find one, and I'm trying to be prepared for whatever.

Like any crack addict, I'm ****ing addicted and scrambling to find a way into the game this Sunday. :D

Yeah, I'm assuming that if he's even asking face value for those tickets, they're about 100 each, which unfortunately I can't do at this point in time. Honestly, I'm a ****ing moron for even attempting to make this game, but I just have no impulse control at this point. I'm here, and I'm full on addicted to the experience.

Face value should be lower level corner. $83? Dad's are $89, and he's considered sideline.

The bus costs the same as parking.

Parking at the gate is $27. The bus is $15.

The grass I'm talking about is along-side the road before you actually turn into a gate. You'll need a truck to get up on the curb, but there are always people parked there and I've done it myself quite a few times, too.

At a game I attended last year they ticketed all those vehicles.

Well that would definitely make the price of parking go up. I guess it's a risk. I've never been ticketed there and people do it every game.

DonTellMeShowMe 09-22-2010 09:56 AM

hmmm Im traveling for the game, and staying near the independence center....suggestions as to the best way to get to the game?

is there a different bus schedule for game days? it doesn't appear the bus goes near there

mikeyis4dcats. 09-22-2010 10:01 AM

the obvious but unasked question. If you can't afford face value for tickets, should you really be dropping $50+ on a parking pass?

I've heard rumor of folks parking at the Holiday Inn Express across the street and not getting harassed. And if you play the part as a hotel patron, they'll even shuttle you over to the stadium and back after the game...

So I've heard....
