Switch QBs
Here's an amusing thought experiment:
The Colts and the Chiefs swap QBs, because God hates the Colts or something. Nothing else on either team changes. What's the Chiefs record, what's the Colts record. Go. |
The Chiefs would be eleventy billion and 0.
|
Chiefs: 12-4. Peyton Manning plus a running game? Hell, 4 losses may be too many.
Colts: 5-11. The Colts greatest strength is their TE/WR. Without a running game, and with the injuries they have on defense, 5 wins might be pushing it. |

Dwayne Bowe would explode.

Chiefs: 15-1
Colts: 0-16 |

stupid. the team is 3-0 and people still are not satisfied. worry when the team loses a game.
|
How much does the shadow of Manning hurt the development of a team's running game? How much real effort does a team dedicate to a running game with Manning on the team?

My guess is that we'd still be 3-0. I don't think Manning is that much of a downgrade.
|
I'm not sure my brain could comprehend that level of success.
|
Just think how tired our defense would be. With 3 and 4 play 90 yrd drives by the offense they would get no rest.

To be serious though, we are winning in spite of Cassel. Man I hope either Wies can make something out of him, or he just shits the bed. Something's gotta give. If he doesn't raise his game, we're gonna have to get another QB. He's gonna hold us back from taking the biggest step. |
Chiefs: 13-3
Colts: 8-8 |
Colts would be lucky to get 5 wins.
KC would cruise to 11+. |

This idea that Manning killed their running game is overdone, it's just now their RB's/running game isn't very good and he knows it.

There have been plenty of posts to this effect over the last couple weeks. I've simply been convinced by the stronger argument. |
with peyton you are a superbowl contender
|
Trading Cassel for Manning makes the Colts a 4 win team at best. Probably worse than that. The reason they're winning games at all right now is because Manning is a badass.

No idea, ill let you know in 6 years when the Chiefs sign Manning as a 40 year old free agent.

Does everyone honestly believe this team can win a playoff game right now with Cassle?? As to the OP, Chiefs would be light years better.. As for Indy's WR's I do think much of them if Peyton is not throwing the ball to them.. He is one of the few QBs around the league that makes people look better then what they are.. Too bad he cannot make his own defense look better.. |
"If Cassel doesn't start playing better....". Um, and what's his qb rating over the last 6 quarters?
|
Caught this question on ChiefsPlanet earlier today: If the Chiefs had Peyton Manning, what would their record be this year? about 5 hours ago via web

Yeah, I know Herm was really concerned about this when he took over Vermeil's offense. The first thing he addressed was the offense's propensity to score. |
switch sanchez for cassel and the chiefs are the best young team in the league
a #1 WR and a nt/lb away from being built for 5 years.... |
Chiefs 12-4, Colts 2-14.
