OOooooh!

Mr. Flopnuts 11-08-2010 01:59 PM

Probably overdue at this point.

BigCatDaddy 11-08-2010 01:59 PM

Can he play NT?

Pants 11-08-2010 02:01 PM

Bring him in for a look. Couldn't hurt.

journeyscarab 11-08-2010 02:03 PM

Guess he made the flight home without Jones tossing him from the plane.

ShowtimeSBMVP 11-08-2010 02:04 PM

Has there ever been a players' coach that succeeded at the NFL level?

Good call. But I attribute all his success to Peyton.

BossChief 11-08-2010 02:20 PM

Whoever hires this guy as their new DC is gonna make a GREAT decision.

This is the guy I wanted as our DC and his defenses have always been very good, he just isnt a HC.

Im happy that we got Romeo, in retrospect, but this guy is gonna turn a defense around somewhere.

I just hope he doesn't pop up in the AFC West.

CrazyPhuD 11-08-2010 02:22 PM

He'd still be a better QB than Cassel.

Mr. Flopnuts 11-08-2010 02:22 PM

Here I sit all broken hearted, tried to shit but only Phillipsed.

MMXcalibur 11-08-2010 02:25 PM

Gee, I wonder if I should take the Giants over the Cowboys next week in my Survivor Pool....hmmm...

blaise 11-08-2010 02:26 PM

Wade Phillips is shuffling out of Cowboys offices, carrying a chair and a box and a paddle with a ball like Steve Martin in the Jerk.

Well the game actually got closer now. The team had quit on Phillips.

HotRoute 11-08-2010 02:29 PM

I just hope that Jerry Jones doesn't try to snake Crennel away from the chiefs somehow

I put it in this thread because I don't have the ability to create new threads.

Manning made the Bucs a better team too?

BigVE 11-08-2010 03:08 PM

Cowgirls instantly got better. Not saying much though.

I have my chair, my box, and my paddle, and that's all I need!

Oh, and this playbook.

Ray Berry was pretty good for a while anyway.

Is Rex Ryan a players' coach? That would be an interesting one.

But yeah, the rule in the NFL generally is that "players' coaches" fail.

Amnorix 11-08-2010 03:28 PM

errr...wasn't Joe Gibbs supposedly a players' coach? I think so, though maybe it was just comparative -- compared to Landry and Parcells and some other hard-asses, he was a players' coach...

gblowfish 11-08-2010 03:31 PM

I was just thinking, "If it blows to be a Mizzou/Chiefs fan today, what about if you were a Texas/Cowboys fan??"

At least they've got a better history to fall back on.

This last weekend was SOP for MU and KC. :grr:

I have no stats to back this up, but anecdotally it has always seemed to me that teams that switch coaches mid-year often win the first game afterward. I don't know if it's true, but I've noticed it.

Of course, then they lose a whole bunch after that.

Dylan 11-08-2010 04:35 PM

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

We play them on Sunday!

No... Stick with the Cowboys!

You're a Cowboys kinda guy :D

Why switch now?

Rain Man 11-08-2010 04:45 PM

The bummer about this is that I lose half of my retread coach ridicule material. Now I'm stuck with Norv.

You should be happy. Now nobody can override Garrets ability to call screen plays in reeruned situations.

Christofire 11-08-2010 04:57 PM

Somebody could have started this thread the day after he was hired. Baffling from the beginning.

One day in the near future, Phillips will coach again. He is an excellent NFL defensive coordinator.

Phillips defense is a very physical defense -- and we know that from history.

Michael Strahan was asked, Which team was the hardest hitting team he had faced in the NFL -- Michael said, the Cowboys under Wade Phillips.

Just my opinion.

Brock 11-08-2010 06:12 PM

He's a good to great DC.

Chieftain58 11-08-2010 06:16 PM

Jones needs to take a look at himself

When did Strahan ever "face" a defense?!?

Garrett is the interim coach.

Sure-Oz 11-08-2010 06:56 PM

Jerry Jones should fire himself
