Good defenses don't get creamed? Interesting...

Tell that to the #1-ranked Giants who've had 30+ hung on it by the "feeble" Cowboys...TWICE.
They've also surrendered 35 to the Colts.

The #2-ranked Chargers gave up 35 to Oakland.
The #3-ranked Saints gave 30 to Cleveland AND Arizona.

I don't think the Chiefs defense is comparable to any of the three I cited...My point is simply...even the BEST defenses get dogwalked from time-to-time.

I'm not sure ANY QB could've saved us from a 5 TD deficit.

If they can't get inspired by the whooping they received, then they're screwed.

I fully expect them to rip off 3 straight impressive wins going into the San Diego game. And that includes trashing Denver's ass in 3 weeks.

If we had a real QB we would not have been down 35-0 at any point.

Maybe we would have been down by 10 or 14 points but we would have finished our own drives and put up touchdowns and been in the ****ing game.

Last time I checked we're a running team first...if you can't run the ball, or stop the run, you usually lose..It's exactly why that foundation is trying to be established.

Where were these great throws?

Was it against the Cover 4 shell when the corners were playing 10 yards off the WR and giving up everything short?

Or was it in the time when the game was in doubt and he was sailing every imaginable throw over every open receiver's head?

Everyone looks confident and accurate playing against a prevent defense.

And the sack-fumble he took was all on him, and every bit as bad as any Favre pick 6.

I hope they do open it up more. Unfortunately for Matt, he's not always gonna see a prevent D.

Then you better prepare yourself for a lot of Buffalo '09 games, where he grades out perfectly while throwing four picks. The guy cannot read a defense.

and the run game isn't always going to stall...and the defense isn't always going to give up four consecutive scores. (twice now)

This team has been trending downward for six games. Many of the same problems that existed before the draft and free agency exist now and most people thought that they couldn't be fixed in 2010.

If this team wins more than three out of their next seven, I'll be pleasantly surprised. IMO, two seems more likely.

I honestly tried to support Matt Cassel. I can't do it anymore. If the defense is going to start giving up massive pass plays just like last year, we need to at least be able to score. Just had to get that off my chest.

The Chargers gave up a safety on a punt block, a touchdown on a punt block, and a fumble return for a TD, so that's really 19 points.

I wonder how many people put the Pit loss against NE at the feet of Big Ben. I mean, they did give up 39 pts. Or I guess McNabb was the main reason Phi hung 59 on Wash.

Sure, they didn't help. It's a team game after all, but I bet they aren't seen with the same level of vitriol on this board. You guys really do need help with your Cassel obsessions.

One minute he can't hit an open receiver...The next, he's only hitting them because the defense is playing soft coverage (so they're...y'know open). Which is it?

Actually there's a PERFECT reason for not hitting his target there.

Passes sail when QB's can't step into throws and follow through. Something tells me that the LB barreling in on him might've had something to do with that.

I remember Chief fans were bragging 3 weeks how footballsoutsiders.com has them ranked #1 in DVOA or some shit like that. ROFL

It's like during you Chief fans forgot who you were for a second. You don't have a long history of greatness where you are supposed to expect to win. You're the Chiefs. Not the Raiders, not the Cowboys, Packers, or 49ers, or Steelers. But the Chiefs.

Anyone who disagrees w/ this is simply a moron. It's a fact that this happens to the best defenses just about every single year. You can go find the best defenses of all time, and yes, they may not have gotten beat to death in any single game but that's why they're the best ever. Defenses such as those mentioned don't come around very often, far less than every year. The Chiefs aren't even the best in the league in the current year, but to say they aren't a good defense with some of the performances they've had is just dumb.

This is what separates Cassel from good.

A good QB satnds in, steps into his throw and takes that hit when delivering the ball.

Cassel simply stands flat footed and makes no attempt to follow through.

The Raiders haven't been expected to win since 2003! ROFL

As much as I hate the Raiders, historically, they are one of the top 5-6 franchises in the league.

I agree that he is not living up to his expectations at all, and I wouldnt really mind seeing Brodie play a little if cassel continues to make the same mistakes.

We've had almost two seasons to see what cassel is all about. What I dislike about him the most is ignoring a wide open receiver, AND FFS SOMEONE SHOW HIM HOW TO PUMPFAKE!@
