Chiefs go 2-2 the rest of the way do they make the playoffs?
 

Chargers run the the table and go 10-6. We go 10-6 and beat Oakland I think we take the division. If we lose to Oakland and we go 10-6 then San Diego takes the division if they go 10-6. Right? I think 10-6 is what is likely going to be the 2010 Chiefs record and beating Oakland @ home is going to decide our season.

I was just talking to a buddy of mine about this game and how I don't have the "we are going to lose" feeling. Same as last week, I just never was worried about the Broncos game even when they were threatening to take the lead.

I'm not saying we are going to win but I just don't have that feeling of dread about this game.

Possibly after the second time the right is taken away the time span they lose it for would double, then after the third time it is taken away permanently.

Same here. On paper we should lose... or at least we should expect a loss. But I've got a good feeling about it. Granted, I'm a homer, but I'm more excited than nervous. This is an opportunity to step up and put a nail in a coffin.

Back to the question - Yes, the Chiefs can make the playoffs by going 2-2 down the stretch, but IF they lose to the Bolts and Raiders, I don't think they will because they will lose just about every tie breaker.

Its the Raiders and its the last week of the season. I still have bad memories about that back in 99. I want this game to mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things. Plus, it would be nice to go into week 17 without a worry.

But there were other seasons other than 99....I cant think of the seasons but the year we beat the raiders the last game of the season ,then one more time in the 1st week of the playoffs.....

I don't think it is about fear of the Raiders at all. From my perspective the Chiefs will have proven much more if they have a playoff berth locked up before the Jan. 02 game. As exciting as a division death match for all the marbles would be, I will feel much better about the development of this team if we just handle business and win the division before the final game of the season.

Look, providing we win in SD Sunday, by then Oakland will have lost at Jacksonville. Following week, Oakland loses at home to Indy, Indy must have to win to have tie breakers with Jacksonville ( providing Indy beats Jacksonville in Indy ). KC locks up the AFC West with only one win the rest of the way, St Louis, Ten, or Oakland game.

I never said that I had a problem with that game being meaningful. Just to answer the OP actual question. If we lose to SD and Oakland we lose the division. If we lose to SD and TEN we lose the division. If we lose to SD and STL we lose the division. Now get this. We only lose to SD and finish 11-5 we potentially play San Diego in the wild card round.

Another interesting scenario, if we beat SD and lose the last three we still potentially make the playoffs as long as Oakland loses to JAC and INDY.

This is assuming that SD wins out of course.
