Great move by Pioli, I'm not sure if he intended to sign Jamaal for this amount or if he didn't want/need a gigantic contract, but it seems like a total steal to me (especially considering what LJ got).

Random thought I had the other day: All 3 of the other AFC West teams have used a 1st round pick on their feature RBs (Moreno, McFadden, Mathews) and all of them are far worse than Charles (at least up to this point), who was a 3rd round pick. Goddamn, that '08 draft was badass.

Love how Haley is rewarding the guys who he pressured to play better. Hope we can get Hali and Bowe locked up to a reasonable contract and I pray these guys don't become fat and happy (ie, slow and bad) now that they're getting rewarded.

I was hoping the kid would get a little more, but good for him anyway. I don't think Jamaal is going to slow down just because he got the contract.

This is potentially the first time I've ever heard fans say that a professional athlete didn't get enough money.

This is perfect. By the time he's 29, JC will likely have slowed some from being in the league 8 years. That's the time to dump him, and not pay like we did for LJ.

I'm a big fan of Charles as a player and as a person (from what I know about him) and as such, I want to see him get paid like a top RB should. I didn't want the Chiefs to break the bank on him or anything, but if he's happy with what he's got, then it's all a wash.

He's not only played his drafted position but transitioned TWICE and is now found his home as a pass rushing OLB.

He was an undersized and underprepared 4-3 DE coming out and transitioned perfectly to the 3-4.

My only regret is that we no longer have Jarred Allen to play our ILB role like Levon Kirkland.

No, he had nowhere near he size but his ROLE would have been a perfect fit...
