Three reasons the Chiefs choke and miss the playoffs.

At least two of these guys are going to run all over the Chiefs.

3rd reason?

Simply Red 12-14-2010 10:17 AM

Well they're black, so yeah - duh.

booyaf2 12-14-2010 10:20 AM

Those 3 guys all have one thing in common. None of them have a QB that can singlehandedly beat us. And that includes the rook from St. Louis.

I couldn't help but notice that the Patriots seem a little, well, pale compared to other teams. I don't know if that's correct, however.

LMAO

If I'm worried about any of them.....it's McFadden or CJ.

Other than their entire O-line, Welkah, Woodhead, and Gronk, I have no idea what you're talking about....

Hoover 12-14-2010 10:32 AM

Really?

Jackson averages 3.9 years per rush, and only have 4 tds.

Johnson averages 4.4 yards per rush, has not done anything as of late, and has 11 tds this year.

McFadden worries me the most. He averages 5.2 yards per rush and has 7 tds

Oh, and you also forget to mention that JC is better than all three of those guys, and Thomas Jones isn't that bad either.

Chiefnj2 12-14-2010 10:33 AM

Stop trying to replace Whitlock.

talastan 12-14-2010 10:34 AM

Romeo needs to find a creative way to stuff the running games while confusing the QB with different coverages. Flowers hopefully will be able to run a little faster, and Berry just needs to keep up the performance that he's done in the last couple of weeks. Pressure on Bradford, Collins, and Campbell will need to be delivered on a regular basis. But most importantly, stuff the freaking run!! No 100+ rushing games against our D in these last three weeks and I'd say it is pretty safe to say we'll win all three! :thumb:

Knowshon Moreno was averaging less than 4 YPC and he went off for 160 against the Chiefs...at Arrowhead.

Why dont you go look up the Chargers' rushing totals against the Raiders a week before they played the Chiefs.

Hoover 12-14-2010 10:43 AM

Dude, none of our remaining opponents have a good passing game. The Chargers and Broncos were much more difficult to defend because they are two of the top passing teams in the league.

How awesome was Oakland's passing game the first time we played them?

Yawn. Did you happen to see what kind of defense the Chiefs were in?

2bikemike 12-14-2010 10:49 AM

After watching the last couple of Raider games it appears to me their O-line has been playing very well. Their defense has played pretty well too. This will be the game that worries me the most. They will be pretty motivated to ruin our season and complete their sweep of the AFCW. I also believe this will be the game that decides the AFCW. The Chargers will win out and so must we.

I will worry about the Rams game if Cassel isn't playing. Simply for the fact that Croyle can't win a game. I think the rest of the team will respond well after the embarassment of last weekend.

Tennessee worried me more when VY was playing. Now I think we shutdown the run and the rest will take care of itself.

What a shocking thread from GC. I would never have expected it.

Skyy God 12-14-2010 11:02 AM

The Rams have a losing record (despite a last-place schedule), the latter 2 games are at home, and the atmosphere at the Jones Dome will be like a home game.

I'm not worried. Unless Croyle starts, in which case all bets are off.

Let me know what 3 remaining QBs can put up passing numbers like Orton or like Philip Rivers?

The Chiefs sold out on the pass and let the Broncos run.

The Chiefs were flat against SD.

I agree with ChiefsNJ, Whitlock you are not.

If they'd only run the ball against us 8 times, I bet we would have held them down pretty good too.

would be considered "choking" by not making the playoffs
then again I look for reasons to avoid gas scalp massages with a fire rinse

The fan in me loves to see the Chiefs make the playoffs this year. But the realist in me thinks missing it is not the end of the world. The Chiefs have already exceeded our expectation.

I look at New England and I think we will be slaughtered somewhere in the POs maybe with negative ramifications on our young team. Making the playoffs will only serve to have us pick AFTER some teams with better records than us in the draft. I might, just might, even prefer for this team to stay hungry for next year and have the best position it can get in the draft.

Is this a Liberal approach ? Losing stinks. Does not breed confidence in young players, winning does. So you think losing now is better than losing in the playoffs.:shake:

No wonder you have a hard time with politics.;)

BIG_DADDY 12-14-2010 04:19 PM

Here's one that might surprise you, look out for SF in SD this week. If they bring their A game they actually have a chance.

I'm usually pretty accepting of other people's opinions, but this is just.......

If we make the playoffs it means we won the division, and have a game at home, and it won't be against the Pats.

We could win a home game. That would make a team hungry even if they get stomped in the next round. Losing the lead in the division, and missing the POs will not help anything.......at all...nothing....whatsoever.

WOW GoChiefs, you had so much potential in the early days. Your articles were written (not always the best) but from the heart and with a purpose...

The Raiders stopped Jones. Charles had 5 yards per carry. The coaches were the reason the reason the "Raiders stuffed our running game". But you knew that being the football guru you are.

BTW Croyle looked good, eh?

No potential. You obviously haven't been paying attention. And he's never written a good article. He's written some things I agree with. But the writing is always poorly done. And he writes as if he speaks for everyone else. When in reality, its a minute few that agree with him.

He attracts childish type people. Because his lack of responsibility, low self respect and absense of inegrity makes it difficult for a man to build a raport with him. H'e still 15 years old in his mental and social development.

Excellent point... If it's do or die, Weis will lay all the cards out on the table and give Charles the rock 80% of the time. Shove the ball down their throats and give Bowe the ball on multiple slant routes.

But since it's essentially do-or-die every game (assuming SD wins out), let's worry about the Rai-turds in 3 weeks. For now it's the Lambs...

Quite frankly, I predicted 7 wins for the Chiefs this year; they're at 8 and everything from here out is gravy.

I love how one week you're bashing Cassel and saying he's the complete failure of the franchise and then the next you're literally saying he's a god. It gets a little annoying when you can change your mind depending on what you had for breakfast.

Are you people inventing things now? This never happened. Show me one shred of evidence.

I said Cassel had a good game but let's not get this twisted.

I purposely avoided jizzing all over the Chiefs during their NFC West/Denver Broncos winning streak because I was deathly afraid of what was going to happen when they finally played a decent football team.

And look what happened.
