dirk digler 01-02-2011 06:13 PM

I think this will be a pretty good matchup as long as our O-Line mans up

Hammock Parties 01-02-2011 06:13 PM

The Chiefs lose. I guarantee it.

They'll blow in the playoffs.

Chieftain58 01-02-2011 06:13 PM

You are like Rosemary's baby so I feel confident in whatever opposite you feel.

Did you predict you'd be 28, with no real job living at home when you were younger?

Reaper16 01-02-2011 06:13 PM

Haloti Ngata is going to destroy KC.

RINGLEADER 01-02-2011 06:14 PM

Too bad Kerry Collins doesn't know how to take a snap -- I predict arepeat of today next week at Arrowhead.

Kerry Collins is an idiot.

Now I have to root for the Jets against the Colts before we face the Ravens...

Lbedrock1 01-02-2011 06:14 PM

we can beat Baltimore, they just beat cinci.

I thought our O-Line could stand their ground until the game today. And while I hope KC improves and makes adjustments, etc. I fully expect the Ravens to come into this game with the same plan that the Raiders used. Pressure off the edges and tight man coverage with a safety either blitzing or playing the run every down.

I'm guessing we'll get the day game and the Jets vs. Colts game will be the night game.

Isn't it typically one AFC and one NFC game per day?

GloryDayz 01-02-2011 06:17 PM

Can our O-line juice for the week? I'll be there, but after what our O-line didn't do today, I'm concerned that the Ravens line will have their way with them too. Don't get me wrong, I pray to God we figure a way around the problem, but big-and-strong D-lines tend to cause our O-line just a few problems.

But F*** that, have them eat their Wheaties, run a bunch of quick-slants, and KICK SOME ASS... WOO-HOO!!!

The Chief's were embarrassed at home today. They have a chance to redeem themselves in front of the home crowd. Bring on Baltimore and let's see what happens.

Cindy threw for 300 yards today and Reed was injured. Much like Pitt with Polumalu, Balt. D is much different with Reed in the lineup.

They don't have the corners to man up against Bowe and they are ranked 20th against the pass

Huge match-up problem for KC here. Going to need some ingenuity from Weis/Haley because we're too light up the middle.

I agree. We have almost zero chance of winning this game. If we score 14 I'll be impressed.

Reed
Rice

Boldin
McCalister

The Bad Guy 01-02-2011 06:22 PM

I think I read Ed Reed is banged up again and Michael Oher left with an injury.

Ravens passing offense can pose problems, but honestly Flacco is junk. Holds the ball too long, not very accurate.

The Ravens corners can't cover Bowe. They can be run on.

Yep. This isn't a bad matchup. Obviously we are going to have to shore up our O-Line and be able to stop the run. If we don't do that then it is going to be a looooooooooooooooooooooong day

the
game

?

Hammock Parties 01-02-2011 06:24 PM

In lieu of starting a new thread, we should use this one to scout the Ravens.

Here's what I like:
they lack gamebreaking speed on offense. All of their receivers are possession guys. Also, they only had 27 sacks this year. That's pitiful.

What I hate:
I don't see that we have an answer for Haloti Ngata, Kelly Gregg and Ray Lewis. I have posted this about 100 times in the last month. I also hate the fact that they have a huge offensive line. If our offense doesn't come to play, the fact they are a bigger team on both OL and DL could be a factor.

notorious 01-02-2011 06:24 PM

Great, we are about to be contaminated with Raven Douche Trolls again.

I think Ngata is going to be the huge matchup problem. But there is no easy route... if we play the Jets Bowe will have to match up with Revis and Cromartie all day and the Jets will be blitz the daylights out of you.

Seahawks/Rams vs Saints is at 4:30 Eastern on Saturday. Gonna open the playoffs with a win.

I assume given today's games we'll get the Steelers next season while the Chargers have to deal with the Ravens.

Rams better worry about Seattle first, or next week won't matter.

Well I guess it doesn't make much difference at this point -- we almost beat the Ravens on their field with Brodie behind center last year (yeah, yeah, it was the first game, so what)...If we can look more like we did against the Titans rather than the Raiders then great. On paper, I think the Ravens will play us more like the Raiders but honestly who knows...

On the road they are 5-3 with losses to Cincy, New England (in OT), and Atlanta.

Their road wins were against the Jets (by 1), Pittsburgh (by 3), Carolina (by 24), Houston (by 6, in OT), and Cleveland (by 10).

In their past eight games they are 6-2.

They are averaging giving up 17.25 ppg on the road.
They are averaging giving up 16.125 ppg at home.

They are scoring an average of 21.25 ppg on the road.
They are scoring an average of 23.625 ppg at home.

That'd be right. If the Chargers had lost today, they'd actually finished in 3rd place and ended up getting the Texans/Browns instead of the Jags/Ravens.

Of course all that depends on whether they expand to 18 games next year, I guess. Then who knows.

We had our ass handed to us today by a mediocre team at best at home. What team did we beat this year that should make us think we can beat a vet team that has won playoff games? Our schedule was so easy that we didn't play a 10 win team.

I love KC and the direction we are headed but we are over matched in this game for sure. On both sides of the ball and Matt is at the helm.
