(4) - Lower Level Tickets Available
I've got 4 tickets available for face value. If you're interested let me know. I would be willing to split them in pairs, but would prefer to sell them all 4.
Section 111 Row 15 Seats 7-10 I'm pretty sure this puts you right next to Iowanian, Bob Dole and First Down Elvis. |
How much?
|
The tickets are $112 and I paid a $9.60 ticketmaster service fee.
$121.60 |
Good luck with the sale, Bill.
I'm amazed at the number of tickets available. People just aren't interested in going, or have no clue how much tickets actually cost. People think (incorrectly) that prices on CL and Ebay are too high and aren't buying. My tickets, for example, are upper level and cost $115 per. For some reason, people are expecting to get tickets at regular season face value. |
First home playoff game in 7 years and demand is low? Incredible....what has happened to our fanbase??

Search completed listings on Ebay, and you'll see a bunch that didn't sell, and a lot that sold for face value or LESS. I had an extra pair of 1st row uppers and didn't get a bite. |

Seven years ago, if you wanted to get tickets to a playoff game and didn't get in during the Chiefs sale, you'd have to buy tickets from a scalper or on eBay, while people who bought tickets but weren't able to go end up either eating their tickets or giving them away to friends. Now, you've got a ton of options (Ticket Exchange, StubHub, eBay) that make it easier than ever for people to buy tickets from other people. Easier exchange = more tickets "available" = lower prices. (Though there's no question that the economy/withering fan base interest has a lot to do with it as well.) |
What the hell? Mine were $99 each after all fees and I am in Sec 111 row 27. I bought them two weeks ago through my season ticket account. Go figure...

P.S. Part of the reason why teams have raised prices over the past decade was to try and reduce secondary sales. They don't make any money when a ticket is sold over face. So, they raise prices up closer to market value so that the team can make the profit instead of the scalper. Sounds to me like the Chiefs priced the playoff tickets pretty close to market value this time around.

I think you missed part of my post - people aren't willing to buy even at face value. |

I just sold my last 4 tickets at face value, they'd been up on Craigslist at what I thought was a reasonable premium for standing out in the cold for 2 hours when they went on sale to Jackson County, got no takers. Found a friend of a friend who is a Chiefs fan and sold them at face value.

However, I also saw a huge spike in available tickets after the abortion on Sunday. I honestly think there are a LOT of people that don't want to spend the money to watch us get whipped - their thoughts, obviously not mine, as I'm traveling 4 hours each way for this. In a metro area of 2M, tickets should be at a premium for a playoff game, much less when it's the first one in forever. That is, if people gave a damn. There aren't THAT many tickets out there. Hell, there's only 500 listings on Ebay right now. That's nothing. |

I bought 4 tickets pretty high up on Stubhub early on and then came across some better seats. I ended up selling the original tickets for about a $50 loss. I went through 2 full auctions on eBay and had them on CL just trying to get my money back and didn't get any interest at all.
I probably overpaid for them, but I was really surprised at the lack of demand. I thought it would ramp up once the schedule was set, but the market actually got worse. |

Sounds like there's going to be a lot of Ravens fans on Sunday.
One thing's for sure, at its peak Arrowhead beats Qwest Field, but overall those fans >> KC fans by a large margin. |
I possibly have two in Section 122, Row 18 for $131 each ($262) total...
|
Thanks to Jasonsauto and Munson they are sold!

I think the Chiefs dismal performance Sunday put the majority of Chiefs fans off. The majority of ticket buyers aren't spending playoff ticket money to go sit in the cold for a repeat of last Sunday so that's why the market is jacked. It's good for Ravens fans. They'll soak up a lot of tickets at face or very near it. I regret more that I sold them to a personal friend of mine. I feel bad for him. But I guess it's not my fault the Chiefs got destroyed by the Raiders. When I sold them to him last week, he got a very good price. |

Agree 100%. Which is sad. IMO, you can't take playoff appearances for granted. There's no telling when the next one will be. |

This is a heavily abused fanbase. I can't say I blame them.

At some point people take a step back and ask themselves if "a game" is really worth it, especially in times like these. Mostly, when people start "cutting back" on expenses, usually the leisure/entertainment sector is the first to get cut, etc. |
They think they can't sell out now......wait and see what happens if there is a lockout in 2011.

I'll ask a couple of the people I have mentioned my tickets too. That close to my awesomeness might be enough to add value.
Playoff tickets...lower bowl.....for a playoff game.....this is a great deal. |

Ultimately if crowd noise really makes a huge difference in the game, the team would have been better off to give those seats away to people at Chiefs rallies...the die hards who would be pounding the bejezus out of those seats like you guys did MNF. A home playoff win would mean a lot more to the team than profit in the long term, IMO. But that's not how business works.

I guarantee I can have $200 worth of fun Sunday. |
I've flip flopped so many times over the last couple weeks whether or not I should go. I finally made up my mind. I tried to buy some tickets yesterday, but that fell through. Now, thanks to Bill Lundberg, I'll be in the stands making some noise. I haven't been to a playoff game since January '96, when a certain kicker ruined our Super Bowl dreams. Its been 15 years, and I need redemption!

Not that I wasn't pissed that I showed up last week and the Chiefs decided it wasn't important enough to give much of an effort towards beating the Raiders... but to think that they'll be absent this weekend is absurd. They might get beat, but it'll be due to playing a better, more experienced, more battle-tested team. I was arguing a few weeks ago that there's no reason to expect Chiefs fans to pay $100+ to see the Chiefs/Titans, and I understand the empty seats last week... but this is completely different. It's the playoffs, and if there aren't 78,000 Chiefs fans willing to show up Sunday, I'm going with "this fanbase sucks balls." |

I yelled so loud for so long a the Indy Playoff game, that I thought I had a brain aneurysm...I literally blacked out. My head hurt as bad as it ever has, and I could "feel" bruised veins in my head for days afterwards...and had no voice.
I've been practicing for this game all year. I've got a 5 and 2yr old who have been helping me keep my vocals in tune for this very occasion. I just hope I don't have to say "StOP THAT" and "CASSEL DON'T" very much. |
Are there any of the VIP/Club Level (not sure which is correct) left?

I'm going to be a loud mother ****er at the game...this is my first game at Arrowhead this year and the first game at Arrowhead that meant anything since the Thanksgiving game a few years back... I'm bringing my A game to the game Sunday. |

Remember the numbers that are involved here, fellas.
If you go on EBAY/Craigslist and find 1,000 tickets available, it sounds like a ton. However, 1,000 empty seats out of 77K is nothing. And moreover, those seats will probably still sell. Ultimately you're just talking about a very large stadium to fill, a lot of seats availalbe to sit in and thus a lot of folks that are going to not be able to make it for one reason or another. Oh yeah, and the economy still blows. I'm not going to disparage the fanbase here. We wandered the wilderness for a lot of years with this club and it's going to take a bit to get folks excited again, especially in a down economy. |
