Report: Egotistical Charlie Weis and Todd Haley Often Screamed at Each Other
http://network.yardbarker.com/nfl/ar..._other/3925793
A head-scratching news item was revealed last weekend, just before Kansas City’s season finale against the Raiders. It was reported and then confirmed that Charlie Weis would be leaving his position as offensive coordinator of the Chiefs for the same role at the University of Florida. Because Weis was not ascending in the coaching ranks — and arguably descending going from the NFL to college — many people wondered what sparked the move. The carefully crafted public relations message conveyed was that Weis was moving to Florida to coach along with his son who is going to be a freshman in Gainesville. I never believed that nonsense, as only a sucker would, but I still wondered what the real reason was. Well luckily I got to hear an interview with KCSP host Nick Wright on JT The Brick’s Show on FOX Sports Radio, and let’s just say Wright did not hold back. Check out all the information he offered that most people would be afraid to say: Quote:

Oh Noes!!!!!!!!!!! Coaches have different points of view! Oh Noes!!!! 2 intelligent football coaches have different ideas...
And they... They, yell at eachother. |
The guys source is Nick Wright. Only slightly more reliable than that other Nick.

This dude reasons like my kids when they were 6. I don't like THIS story so I am going to believe the OTHER story. Only thing missing was the neener neener neener.
|
LOL coaches screamed at each other? Now coaches might even start screaming at their players too, God what is this world coming to.
|
Frauds!

I don't know anything (other that what I read here) about Nick Wright, but I used to listen to JT The Brick and he was, although entertaining, generally full of shit.
And we're supposed to be surprised that Haley and Weis shouted at each other? |
That ****ing Nick "I can't tell a goddamn ****ing difference between my ****ing elbow and my ****ing ass" Wrong is full of goddamn shit. He was the dumb**** that said that the Chiefs were in the brink of losing Charles.
Somebody needs to find that cockattentionwhore and kick him squarely in the GODDAMN NUTS. |
ROFL
Nick Wright. I want to sell that guy some real estate. FAX |
At the end if the day, who the **** cares?
He's leaving. It's already old news. All I care about is that they find a good repalcement. |

Vic Carruci discussed the Weis situation while on WEEI today, and he's certainly a lot closer to Weis than Wright is. You can listen to it here:

It would be fascinating to occasionally reflect on all the nonsense and it would also make a great email. Plus, it might help keep some of the more easily enchanted Planeteers from harming themselves every time he opens his pole hole. FAX |
JFC. Have you ever held a job? People disagree at work all the time and many times those disagreements are heated and yelling is involved. You need to get out of the basement more often and actually interact with people.

This is absolutely true. When highly motivated, highly talented people work closely in the same environment and you don't have conflict, there's a problem. FAX |
Eh Nick called this from the beginning of the season.

When Weis got hired (maybe when it was just rumored that he would be highly considered for the job) Haley talked about how the two had serious arguments while working together in the same room with Charlie for the Jets. They were able to keep a collective while arguing and both were probably better for it.
Its a shame to see Charlie leaving after just one year (I still feel a little stabbed in the back by the move, if it were after 2 years it would have been 100% acceptable IMO) but hopefully it turns out that we had an opportunity to grab a younger version of him in many ways (McD) or to groom our own guy for the position (Siriani). |

To me, the way he's spewing this BS, it's like he saying that in the workplace, there shouldn't be any disagreements and if there was one, one unhappy ****er was gonna move on. |
Of course it comes out after it's announced Charlie is leaving. Pleah. Media Scum
|
The same Nick Wright who 2 days ago said Bowe was out with and Ankle injury and not an illness. The same one who said the "ilness" was a smoke screen. That the Chiefs were lying.
The guys a douche bag who's always trying to make a story out of nothing. |

Haley likes confrontation between his coaches. He as much as said so when Weiss was hired. In his mind it's healthy in respects to coaching.

Yeah, he said he didn't want a bunch of yes men. |

That really seems like a very logical reason for him to go to UF, I don't see how Wright can dismiss it so easily for a theory he has no evidence for except that Haley and Weis yelled at each other. It really seems to me that being at the same school as his son would be an ideal coaching situation for him, and I can see how he would want to do it. |

If Charlie Saban gets us to the Superbowl, I'll forgive him. If not, he can die in a Florida smamp!

I have no doubt that he's hoping for a playoff win as much as anyone. He's just an epic attention whore. |
Nick: I only want to be your friend Mr Chiefs player

Coaches yelled at each other! OMG the world is coming to an end. Tom Cable punched a dude in the mouth and we had people on here saying they wouldn't mind him as a coach. Who the **** cares man? Haley has been the shit. Perfect? No. The shit? Yes. He's been the best hire and what this franchise has needed. A smart coach who has a chip on his shoulder, and wants to win. When you have team leaders like Tamba, Vrabel, Flowers, etc all talking about how great he is, then guys like Bowe changing his stripes and becoming a pro bowler, not much else to care about. Haley is an offensive minded coach, so I don't really care about Weis leaving as much as I care about Romeo staying. Once we get Romeo a little more help this offseason this team is going to be one that no one is going to want to **** with. |
I'd think if Weiss got tired of Haley yelling at him he'd just largemouth bass him and have him swallowed in two gulps.
I saw enough O play calling to wonder if Charlie was busy sucking down BBQ instead of paying attention. Good luck on your new job. |
Haley fisted Carthon on national tv...what the hell do you think goes on behind closed doors?

A couple of assistants about come to blows on the sidelines a couple weeks ago
They need to get some WWF training -break out some folding chairs and shit |
who's got the link the the presser a few weeks ago where Wright tried to insinuate to Haley that he thought Weis was the reason for his injured leg?
|
Good, I hope TH hurt his leg kicking that fat SOB in the temple! He can take is SPED self down to Fla and put some slack in the umbilical cord, and cover up all his DA son's mistakes in the college ranks.

IIRC, Weis was hired to "fix" the quarterback. I think that mission was accomplished. OC & DC don't tend to stay with the teams for that long in the first place. Most of them move around and or get promoted to HC at some point. A Head Coach is hired to win games and usually last as long as the Ws are greater than the Ls. If a HC starts loseing games or dosn't show much sign of growth he usually gets the AX. (exeption Cenci Coach) This is the life of the NFL.
Weis has nothing to prove to any body, he has achieved winning Super Bowls. All he was asked to do this year was to help turn around a struggling franchise. He did that. He doesn't have to report to any body. Tod Haley is the Head Coach he is the one responsible for our success and he took his ego apart and hired Weis. Who gives a shit about Weis ego, if his ego was that big he would have wanted a HC job somewhere not to go to his sons college & be again a OC. Nick is just grasping at straws to come up with something controversial. My bigger issue isn't Weis leaving, he can be replaced. This weekend I don't want to see our first three drives with TJ running on first and second down for two yards and putting Cassel in a 3 & long over and over again that don't get things going. That has been my biggest pet peeve for this season. Other than that we have played good most of the year and the players have responded even after a big ass kicking. 10 &6 playoffs KICK ASS after being in suckville since Dick Vermiel was HC. |

Well, I don't believe for one minute he's going to Florida to be with his son. That's just stupid. If anything parents get away from their kids when they go to college. He's gonna help coach as a freshman??? That seems a little odd unless he's just gonna be an errand boy or help w/ equipment etc. But CW's ego is too big for him to be working under his former subordinate. I bet within a few seasons he will be a HC in college again at a big school.
Either Florida is paying him much MUCH more than anything Hunt/Pioli would pony up for him, or he eventually wants to be a HC at the college level at a major program because it allows him to have almost 100% control on everything football operations wise/recruiting etc. He's got too big of an ego/resume to be a OC for a rebuilding NFL team. He wasn't going to stay here for very long anyways. I think a lot of us knew that. Think about good coordinators is that they're good coordinators for only so long - meaning that others want them, they're high in demand each offseason, so don't be surprised if Romeo gets another gig somewhere. I'm sure Haley and Weis disagreed on some issues. Maybe even argued a little. But I don't think for once there were shouting matches and that CW wanted out of there ASAP because him and Haley didn't get along. If that was the case, he never would have come here to begin with. He didn't come to KC.....KC came to CW once his stint with Notre Dame was finished. He could have easily said no and I would bet another NFL would have given him a shot somewhere, but he wanted to (and I quote) "wanted to go somewhere and work with people he was used to". If that wasn't the case, he would have gone somewhere else. |
