Harbaugh glad Ravens broke Rapelessburgers nose

I would be surprised if he isn't fined for these comments:

John Harbaugh: I’m glad Ravens broke Ben Roethlisberger’s nose
Posted by Michael David Smith on January 10, 2011, 7:24 PM EST

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was left with a broken nose when Ravens defensive tackle Haloti Ngata drilled him last month. The NFL fined Ngata $15,000, but Ravens coach John Harbaugh doesn’t think his team should feel any remorse.

“He’s a tough guy,” Harbaugh said of Roethlisberger. “He had the broken nose. I was glad we broke his nose and then I was very impressed that he played through it. Obviously, you can throw very effectively with a broken nose – he proved that.”

Harbaugh says he expects his players to go after Roethlisberger on Saturday the same way they did in December.

“[W]e’re going to try to get after him like we always do,” Harbaugh said. “It’s going to be real important, and he knows that. That’s a key to stopping him. You’ve got to get him down.”

And if the Ravens take Roethlisberger down too hard, Harbaugh is OK with that.

Well at least he didn't get stabbed to death.

Shogun 01-10-2011 10:22 PM

He better be glad Ray didn't smell the blood or else Big Rape would have to be playing with about 2 dozen holes in him as well

Brock 01-10-2011 10:22 PM

I hope something horrible happens to Joe Flacco.

This will be the game 'o the week, no question.

The smack is even stronger than usual.

tk13 01-10-2011 10:40 PM

This will be the most violent football game of the year. And that's saying something... it's amazing the bloodbath these two always get into. There will be concussions and head trauma.

Doesn't sound like something Harbs would say; do you have a link to the original article?

It is a questionable comment to make if it's true ... but given the nature of our rivalry, it's no big deal. We've said much worse to each other.

Dylan 01-10-2011 10:55 PM

BANG -- And down goes Flacco!

LMAO

Nevermind, I found it.

Says the comment was made jokingly.

the refs are gonna ruin this game.

The good news for Baltimore and their low rent, cheap shotting thugs, is that Pittsburg ALSO has some linebackers who like to blitz, hit like trains and don't mind hurting someone.

I dislike Pitt a great deal, but compared to the Ravens.......I hope they pluck the legs and wings off of every one of those purple grasshoppers and burn them with magnifying glasses after the game.

This game is already showing the Hypocrisy of the NFL. They will actively promote the violence, but yet they keep trying to regulate it like earlier this year.

Personally,I'd just as soon see both clubs beat the hell out of each other so bad that neither could field a complete team for the championship.

Agreed.

I just want the Ravens to have an extra week to ice their wounds...and get back to their offseason thuggery where hopefully they can make it until spring without one of their teamates being responsible for the death of another human being.

Wallcrawler 01-11-2011 09:45 AM

Did you hear that?

That was the sound of Harrison's leash being removed.

Pretty bold (or stupid) statement made by Harbaugh, knowing that the league's most feared (and fined) hitter is on that Pittsburgh defense. It looked accidental when it happened, but when you start implying that you did the shit on purpose, or youre glad you did it, youre just asking for trouble for your QB.

I can totally see Harrison's teammates passing around the donation can in the locker room to pay for the impending fine for attempted murder of Joe Flacco, and with the way that O-line was caving against KC, Flacco has a lot of cause for worry in this one should the shit get personal.

Iowanian 01-11-2011 11:35 AM

Raplisburger should read that and offer to pay the fines for any unnecessary roughness this weekend and turn loose the barbarian horde.
