Michael Floyd coming back to ND

Just read it on ESPN, Floyd will stay for his senior season at Notre Lame, so take him off the wish list.

The Franchise 01-12-2011 12:41 PM

Awesome for me.

DaKCMan AP 01-12-2011 12:46 PM

That sucks. With Green, Jones, Floyd, and Baldwin - someone would have dropped.

Yep, my thoughts exactly.

eazyb81 01-12-2011 01:01 PM

So is this the consensus pre-combine WR ranking?

1. Green

----gap----

2. Jones

3/4. Blackmon
3/4. Baldwin

Yep I believe you are right, that really hurts with Floyd gone.

Archie Bunker 01-12-2011 01:32 PM

Looks like Blackmon is staying in school as well

Justin Blackmon & Michael Floyd to return to school in 11'. The WR position just got incredibly weaker w/ Blackmon, Floyd, & Broyles staying about 2 hours ago via web

"I expect both of them to announce they are returning to school for their senior season," said SportsXtra's Daniel Holdge. "Both can really improve their draft stock, and the possible NFL lockout situation makes it much easier to pass up the money for now."

The Franchise 01-12-2011 01:35 PM

Unless Green, Jones or Baldwin falls.....I fully expect us to go OL or OLB in the 1st round.

The Bad Guy 01-12-2011 01:40 PM

Yeah, no point in going the WR route in the first round now. Akeem Ayers would likely fit beautifully on the other side of Tamba.

The Franchise 01-12-2011 01:41 PM

Maybe I haven't watched enough of Akeem Ayers but I don't see how he's a 1st round pick.

Chiefnj2 01-12-2011 02:14 PM

Call me crazy, but I'm not sure there are 20 players in this years draft that will carry 1st round grades.

I think I have quoted you at least 5 times in agreeance on this issue. I have no idea why people are so high on Ayers??? I have seen him play, he is not that impressive, Von Miller everyday of the week and twice on Sunday over Ayers IMO.

Damn, that really sucks.

I doubt any of those three drop to us.

If Bryant dropped, then Baldwin and Jones can drop.

Hammock Parties 01-12-2011 03:39 PM

We need to trade up for a wide receiver.

Pioli has ****ed around two years and brought not one legitimate WR in.

He created his bed, he has to go lie in it now. We're desperate.

doomy3 01-12-2011 07:04 PM

Shit, that sucks.

Sign Vincent Jackson, Sidney Rice, Steve Breaston or Steve Smith in free agency. Or trade for Fitzgerald. We need another receiver badly.

jd1020 01-12-2011 08:19 PM

I think, with all of these receivers going back to college, that the Chiefs will trade down. I dont see many teams going the OL route in the first and I fully expect guys like Miller and Ayers to be gone by the time 21 comes around. Trade down for a early 2 + ??. Profit.

There will be 4-5 tackles gone by the time we pick.

It's a shitty draft class. Next year will be loaded.

:spock:

This tackle class is pitiful. It's probably the worst since 2007.

****. That.

If we're trading up, it better be for a QB. Aside from this, stay where we're at.

Yeah, it isn't good. I was probably off on what I said, but there are always more tackles drafted in the top 20 picks than people think.

Carimi, Sherrod, Solder and Castanzo will most likely all go in the first round, while Demarcus Love and Tyron Smith will likely be drafted at the top of the second round.

chiefs1111 01-12-2011 08:59 PM

bummer

Too many 1st round picks going back to college. They must be receiving advice about the potential lockout harming them.

Absolutely. It's why Luck went back. Who wants to sit out a year?

There is too much money to miss the entire season. Plus, a likely rookie cap in the future. There have to be more issues that haven't really been flushed out with the public.
