I hope the Pats beat the ever living sh*t
out of the J-E-T-S this Sunday.
Hey Rex and gang when you finally sport some hardware, then run your mouth if you must. Rex Ryan offers no apology for Cromartie's comments on Brady cromartie_0112.jpgFOXBORO -- Jets coach Rex Ryan just finished his conference call with the New England media and offered no apologizes for his cornerback Antonio Cromartie, who in an interview with the New York Daily News used a crude slur to label Tom Brady. "We're not apologizing for anything," said Ryan. "Did we vote [Brady] to be the starting quarterback in the Pro Bowl? Yes we did. Did we vote him for the NFL Player of the Year? Yeah we did, so there's plenty of respect but we don't have to be all lovey dovey and say, 'Oh he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.' We have a right to our opinion and a comment like that, it's no big deal. A guy makes a comment, big deal." Unlike Bill Belichick, who doesn't like his players giving bulletin board material to opposing teams, Ryan doesn't have a problem with it. "In this country you're allowed to have opinions and all that kind of stuff," Ryan said. "Obviously as an organization we respect Tom Brady, there's no question about it. But hey, is there dislike between us and Brady, and Brady against the Jets? Of course there is. Am I going to punish Cromartie for saying something or whatever? No. I know one thing, we respect New England but we don't fear them. A comment like that, it just [shows] that they're the enemy." In the Daily News article, Cromartie said that the Jets took exception when Brady threw a fourth-quarter touchdown and pointed to the Jets sidelines during the Patriots 45-3 win in Week 13. "We see that a lot. He does that a lot," said Cromartie. "That's the kind of guy he is. We really don't give a damn, to tell you the truth." Cromartie said that he "hates" both Brady and the Patriots. "Everything is personal with me and the Patriots," said Cromartie, who was a rookie with San Diego when the Patriots overcame a 21-13 fourth-quarter deficit to beat the Chargers, 24-21, in the Divisional round of the playoffs in 2006. "So I really don't care. I don't have too much to say about them. I'm just ready to play ball on Sunday." Cromartie also gave a little hint for Sunday's game plan on how to stop Brady and his receivers. "If I beat the (expletive) out of his receivers, he can't throw the ball," Cromartie said. When asked if that was indeed the Jets game plan, Ryan said that the Jets players didn't get the game plan until today. Ryan is a trash-talking coach and his players follow his lead. "I think maybe they do follow my lead in the fact that, you know what, we can say what's on our mind or whatever," said Ryan. "I don't say whatever we do don't say this or don't say that. We're a transparent organization. We let our guys speak and we don't try to tell them what to say and what not to say." _________________________________________________________________ BRADY's RESPONSE...I love the last paragraph Much like his coach, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady isn't about to get into a war of words with anyone on the Jets this week. Brady spoke to the large media assembly at his locker this morning and was asked if he had any response to the obscenity-laced comments made about him by Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie. "I've been called worse," Brady said when informed that Cromartie called him an [expletive]. "I'm sure there's a long list of people that feel that way but he's a good player, [Darrelle] Revis is a great player. They've got a great secondary. They're one of the best defenses we face. We're going to spend a lot of time preparing for them. "What they're capable of doing over there, shutting down the Colts offense like they did, was pretty impressive because we know how good that offense is, but we're going to get ready to play." Brady was also asked about pointing at the sidelines after big plays and other so-called "antics" as described by Jets coach Rex Ryan earlier in the week. "I'm an emotional player, so it's all in the spirit of the game and the competition," Brady said. "I don't know [if there's anything to Ryan's observations], he can probably answer that better than I could." Brady was asked if it was a little more fun to face a team where there is strong dislike on both sides. "Is it more fun? It's always more satisfying to win," Brady said. "Especially in games like this, not that you need more satisfaction to win in a game like this because it's the biggest game we played all season and I'm always satisfied when we win. I think there's certainly big games that we had against them. The last game at home was a very big game, that was very satisfying, so this one will be satisfying also if we win." Regarding all the talk coming out of Jets camp this week, Brady wasn't fazed in the least. "We're spending our time getting ready to play," Brady said. "I don't think we're spending our time figuring out what we can do to combat what people may say about us. Not everybody has great things to say about our team, or our organization, or certain players. And that's kind of the way it's always been so... we're just going to do our talking on the field. I think that's what we've always chosen to do." Brady said the outcome of Sunday's game will determine if all the talk had any effect. We'll see," he said. "We'll see on Sunday afternoon at 7:30 p.m. That's when everybody will be able to tell whether it played a role or not. We'll have to wait and see." The Patriots quarterback was also asked about comments made earlier in the week by Ryan that questioned Brady's commitment to studying the game. "I do what my coach asks me to do and however he feels I need to prepare, he'll let me know," Brady said. "We try to win games, you know? Look at what we've accomplished over 10 years and I think that speaks to the whole preparation of our team. That's why we play, we play to win games more so than anything else. You're not trying to do anything other than win. The goal of playing football is to win, every time you take the field, score more points than the other team, however you need to get that done, that's what you need to do..." "We don't engage in it very often," Brady said about all the pregame talk. "Every once in a while maybe someone will say something, but for the most part our team has just stayed the course, spend our time preparing for the other team... We can sit here and say a whole bunch of things, too, but I think we realize it's really not the point of what this team's all about, what this organization's all about, all the way from the owner of our team, to the head coach of our team, and that trickles down to the players. "Now other teams may have a different view or perspective of how they want to handle things. When you're representative of the organization like the Patriot team is, that's how we try to conduct ourselves." |
Me to. I hope they run the J.E.T.S jets jets jets right out of Gillette stadium
|
The Jets have been playing with fire all week, especially against a team that beat them by 40 points last time.

**** New England. Go Jets!

Meh. I think I'd rather the Jets beat a coach that blatantly cheats than the Pats beat a team that runs their mouth a little.

Woodhead is injured ?

I don't really care who wins, but I do like the fact that Ryan and Jets players actually say interesting things. Makes it more fun for fans. If I want to read cliches, I'll check out a NE or KC presser.

Jets placed RT Damien Woody on injured reserve with a torn left Achilles' tendon, ending his season. He'll undergo surgery Wednesday afternoon. Not only is it a monster blow to the Jets' playoff chances -- Woody is their best run blocker by a good margin -- Achilles' surgery at age 33 is never good news. Wayne Hunter will take over at right tackle, and it's a safe bet that Patriots coach Bill Belichick will work to exploit that downgrade this Sunday. Woody will return at a $3.35 million base salary in 2011, but his best days may be behind him. Jan. 12 - 2:24 pm et |

I hate the Jets as much as anyone here, but I really have a feeling they're gonna come to play on Sunday. It could be a close game. I know it might not be, but I also know it almost certainly will be nothing like the MNF game.

I like seeing rex squirm, he talks way too damn much

I guess the patriots shouldve took exception when braylon edwards was getting in their corners face and dancing after he caught a touchdown on them in week 2. |
This is one of those games I really don't give a shit who wins because I can't stand either team.
Baltimore vs Pitt is going to be epic though. |
For someone who is so unafraid of the patriots, rex sure talks alot about not fearing them.

If you're gonna talk that kinda game, and don't back it up... you'd better be prepared to have it thrown back in your face. |
I hope the Pats keep running the score up.

when Brady says that their gonna spend a lot of time preparing for someone, that usually means an ass whooping is coming in the near future, and Belichick is just going to unload all over Rex's face. My prediction is that Brady embarrasses the Jets secondary, while the camera constantly pans over to Rex's face and looks like...
|
Lets look at the facts here. Rex brings up Bradys wife before the last game they played and was talking shit about the Pats and mumbles. the Pats ream the Jets ass out on national tv and now the Jets are crying about the Pats showing them up in that game? they are becoming very difficult to root for.

I see something like a 31-14 win. Not an extreme blowout but enough to shut ryan up for an offseason.

He's unshuttupable. The good thing about all this is that it helps make the game more interesting. I was just about to stop watching football altogether, but I think I'll dial this one up just to see Rex order his squad to take a team leak on the Pats logo. FAX |

We all know the history between Bill Belichick and his opponents. The general sports rule is you don't disrespect your opponent. Unfortunately, their history makes for an interesting story when Belichick is given the opportunity to openly disrespect the opposing head coach by turning logic on its head.
Belichick thrives on embarrassing teams. Also, it's important to point out how he humiliated Joe Gibbs a Hall of Fame coach when he was down on his luck by running up the score 52-3 and going for it on 4 & inches. How else can you explain Belichick when he disrespects the entire NFL. It's football, not Armaggedon. I hope the Jets bust them in the mouth. ...and to all a good night. |

That's a good point about the emotional involvement. I hadn't really looked at it that way, I guess.
I don't know ... I'm a big homer, I suppose. I hold out hope each year that lightning will strike and we'll become the Cinderella story of the season. Then, when it's all over I just feel depleted and disgusted for awhile ... to the point I just want to cram a football up some hobo's ass. FAX |
You know i do like the trash talking cause let face it. The nfl could use a little more fun. Roger Goodell making the league into a bunch of pussy. I miss the old days of hard hits and cool dances in the end zone. Also to note before all these rules to help slow down injuries now before they were not injury prone in the 90's 80's 70's 60's or 50's cause god forbid you might lose a few talent for the year. That when you can see who will step up and win some games for you.

The Jets crying about someone else talking is rich.

Besides, who doesn't like an ass-kicking when you're doing the kicking or like who's doing the kicking? :D Trust me, if the Chiefs ever get good enough to the point where they can routinely hang 50 on the Broncos, Raiders, or Chargers, you'll be screaming at the TV for them to score more touchdowns even when they're up by 31 points in the 4th. LMAO |

Oh, BTW, take a look at the Great Gazoo Peyton Manning. You want to see someone who whines to the refs like a bitch? Every ****ing play that doesn't go his way, he throws his hands up in the air and gives them Peyton Face. |

I really didn't have a dog in this fight at first but after seeing SuckMarte mumble some kinda of gravel mouthed bullshit that I really didn't understand (had to get on espn.com to find out wtf he said),my views have changed.I hope the Pats hang 50 on them and rub the Jets vagina's in it all day long and make them look like the frauds they are.

The Pats are probably going to beat them by a few touchdowns, but if probably won't stop Ryan from talking. If 45-3 didn't shut him up, I doubt any other losses will.

This actually proves that you don't know what you're talking about. 1. The filming of signals couldn't possibly be done, processed, analyzed and then fed back into BB to make analytical use of by halftime for use in the second half. It's just not feasible. 2. Didn't win a Super Bowl? Yeah, they just had an undefeated season and then lost a Super Bowl with some very lucky/fluky plays went against them. Which I have no problem with. Everyone can use some luck, and the Giants played completely out of their minds that game. They were the better team that day. But it's nto like the Patriots have really struggled since the start of 2007 when all this came out. Obviously that's not remotely true. 3. I don't remember the exact details of the game in terms of score changes, but it was neck and neck throughout and the Giants only came back from one score down at the end. Compare to, say, the AFCC game against the Colts, PRE-SPYGATE, when the Colts roared back in the 2nd half after being down 17 points or whatever at halftime to win. You think you know what you're talking about, but you don't. |

Rex is a smart guy.
Everyone is talking about him. What he said, what he justifies. That's exactly, 100% what he wants. Get the media attention on him, and not the players. Don't focus on the whopping they took a few weeks back and the possible cause of it. Don't focus on Sanchez being shaky in New England. Focus on him so his players get off easily. He's playing the national media. |

The game on MNF when they blew the Jets doors out to seize absolutely control of the AFC East and the entire AFC, getting the #1 seed? That wasn't a big game either of course. Because, you know, they won that one. 2008. Brady's knee 2009. A deeply flawed team with a fair number of character issues. Hell, they went only 10-6 against a pretty soft schedule, and then got blown out at home. It just wasn't a very good team. Quote:
You can't really upset me with this stuff. My father lived to be in his 70s and was a die hard sports fan, especially football and baseball. By the time the Red Sox and Patriots were winning Championships, he didn't know his own name, and died soon thereafter. I've lived to see multiple championships by every Boston sports team there is, except the Bruins who I don't care about anyway. But you're clearly chock full of incorrect "facts". The Rams taping is like the icing on the cake to prove that. |
Quote:
I actually have no problems with the guy or his approach. Sure is refreshingly different. But if I'm a Jets fan, I worry that he keeps writing checks his team can't cash, which may haunt them. It's hard enough in the NFL without putting a bulls-eye on your chest. |
Quote:
Now heres a fact for you to chew on. why was all the evidence destroyed? ROFL hard to get facts when there's nothing to go by anymore, isnt it? the NFL was so embarrassed by this that they destroyed the evidence. wtf kind of shit is that? And dude, I like you, Im just busting your chops. thats what I do here ;) and let me tell you something. my father was a ****ing die hard Rangers fan! he died in may of 1994. 2 weeks before those scumbags won the stanley cup. so I hear where you're coming from. |
Quote:

Quote:
The tape destroying -- the NFL did that, as you probably know. They wanted it done gone and never to be revisited, so that's what they did. Go tell Goodell if you don't like it. The Pats lost a 1st round pick out of that -- a guy who would be a third year player right now and probably contributing quite alot to this team, so it's a price that has an ongoing effect for a long time. |
