Vikings running back Adrian Peterson recently found himself out and needing to use the bathroom at 3 in the morning. So he went to a McDonald’s drive-through window.

An assistant manager saw Peterson, recognized him and let him in. But soon after that she was fired, apparently because her bosses found out that she let someone into the restaurant after hours.

“He’s a public figure. . . I know him better than some of the maintenance people that come in and out,” the woman told Consumerist. “I never thought in a million years that that decision was going to cost me my career.”

If it never occurred to her that she could get fired for letting someone use the bathroom, she apparently isn’t a fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm, on which Larry David once got a nanny fired for letting him inside to use the bathroom during an outdoor party.

However, there’s a happy ending: After the media caught wind of the story, McDonald’s gave the woman her job back.

I would consider someone in a management position, even at McD's, a career.

Well, in his defense, he hadn't gone all day.

I have a friend in Liberty that is the assistant store manager of McD's. Sometimes he has to do overnight. He gets paid really well, and in 2 years he will most likely be a store manager somewhere in KCMO, and get paid very well for his work. He is only 25 too.

As much as some people want to knock it, it is a career.

Managing a restaurant can be a pretty good living, especially a place like McDonald's where you can eventually get your own franchise.

And I'm glad she got her job back. It was only Adrian Peterson. It's not like it Brett Favre or Ben Roethlisberger or some other dangerous person.

Or he could've just used the parking lot.

If she wouldn't open the store to let the average customer come in and use the restroom, she shouldn't make an exception for an NFL player other than Najeh Davenport.

We all seem to be assuming that he had to piss... perhaps he had to seek a toilet to release the raging flood waters of the mighty brown river.

This...people like to look down on these jobs, but somebody has to do it right? We all have eaten there @ one time or another. Nothing shameful about it.

Management at fast food restaurants are considered careers in my back.

Not many...but if it's a hot girl working overnight at the drive thru...I bet she has REALLY low self esteem.

I cannot agree with you more. I've been managing a dominos pizza for the last 8 years. I have made no less than 45000 a year, hell some of the managers in springfield are making 75k+. These little smug ****ers that think they're so much better than everyone should do the world a favor and drink an antifreeze cocktail.
