Taiwan Jones

I'd take him the second, no questions asked. I know he's injury prone, but we'll use him the same way we use Charles, 15 carries each. That'll help ease those injury concerns.

Lets not forget, we're a running team. And right now, we're a running team with only one back. Putting this guy with Charles and McCluster would give us the most explosive and versatile backfield the NFL has seen in years. Haley's imagination can run wild with that trio.

"Eastern Washington RB Taiwan Jones ran the forty-yard dash at 4.32 and 4.35 seconds at Thursday's Pro Day workout.
Jones reportedly clocked between 4.29 and 4.35 on all stopwatches. It's an emphatic sign that he's fully recovered from late-season foot surgery. Checking in at 6'1", 196 pounds with "nary an ounce of body fat," Jones also recorded an impressive 39 1/2-inch vertical jump and an 11-foot broad jump -- just five inches short of the record. Jones is the most explosive athlete in this year's running back class. Thursday's performance, in front of representatives from 26 teams, should lock him into the draft's second day. His stock is skyrocketing"

Easy 6 04-14-2011 12:24 PM

I'm definitely looking forward to this movie.

Sfeihc 04-14-2011 12:24 PM

Stole him in the CP mock for the Steelers at the end of the sixth round.

ToxSocks 04-14-2011 12:27 PM

My worry is that teams are looking for the next CJ/JC or DeSean Jackson and they might steal him before he can even slip to us.

The NFL is changing and those fast skinny guys are in very high demand. Gone are the days of the bruisers IMO.

No way this kid lasts to the 6th IMO. I think he's gone in the 2nd. If he falls to the third, some team is getting a steal. Too much play making ability and his Pro Day just proved he is one hell of an Athlete.

the Talking Can 04-14-2011 01:10 PM

i thought we drafted him last year

Reaper16 04-15-2011 12:01 AM

He's pretty awesome; glad to see him rise up the charts.

Isn't Darren Sproles a FA this year? Make a run at him again?

salame 04-15-2011 01:05 AM

what is up with Sproles sucking lately?

Chiefs=Champions 04-15-2011 02:22 AM

He runs so upright..

Showing signs of wear, as small backs have a short shelf life in the NFL, even compared to RBs who all have a short shelf life, with only a few exceptions.

Urc Burry 04-15-2011 11:19 PM

Sooo are we trying to give even less carries to Charles now? If we were to take a RB in the second, and i'm not saying we should I would much rather go DT or Ryan Williams...Williams is going to be a beast if he can stay healthy

But he has magnificent balance. Wow I'd be happy with him in the 3rd. I would say 2nd but its a curse to be a Chiefs second round pick.

Chiefshrink 04-16-2011 04:07 PM

Remember who this guy is running against in these clips. But I will say that he has power and does not go down easy, always running down hill falling forward, catches the ball out of the backfield well and can take it to the house.

What kind of injuries?

There will be plenty of crow for folks to eat on McCluster in a couple of years IMO.

just how long do you think McCluster's career is going to last?

Bush is bigger than McD and he's falling apart
Sproles is thicker than McD and he is showing signs

and they have both lasted longer than most small fries

Better than average chance that "in a couple of years" McClusters career is almost over.

I don't have the psychic visions that you soothsayers have...sorry. I'm also not getting into another little man debate.

He needs to step up and show more next season. That is for sure.

Since when do you have to be a soothsayer to know that running backs have a short shelf life in the NFL and that "small" running backs usually have even shorter careers?

On top of that, apparently the chiefs are going to use him even more at RB this coming season. DmC also didn't show any real natural ability to avoid the big hit. He's been getting popped from day 1 and now we are going to put him at the position that might as well be listed on the endangered species list for the league?

Nobody can predict the future but i don't think it's a stretch to to be concerned about DmC's long term viability.

Depends on if he's playing playing RB or WR.
