Some cool pics from my flight today.
I just got back from running a few guys to Nogales, Az, and here are a few sweet pics I took of the aircraft graveyard in Tucson.
B-52's, C-5's, B-1's F-14's, F-111's, etc. Enjoy! http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/4060/1003013x.jpg http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/8573/1003014c.jpg http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/9785/1003018o.jpg http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/1456/1003020q.jpg http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/6220/1003024h.jpg |

Bump for the daytime airplane lovers.

How dare you take your hands off the wheel.
|
Awesome.
|
I'm kinda surprised that's not restricted airspace.

Good old Davis-Monthan AFB. I was stationed there for 4 years.

very cool

Those are awesome pictures.
To capture the massive, worthless piss-away of billions upon billions of tax payer dollars in a few succinct shots is fantastic. |

Crazy. Think of all that scrap material just sitting around.
They probably have to have roving guards just to keep the meth heads out. |

I also know that they didn't do jack shit in terms of anything other than costing US taxpayers a millionkazillionjillion dollars and flying around. The funny part was the "they kept the Soviets from dominating the world" comment. |

I wonder if they'd sell me a B-52 to use as a cabin out in the woods. That'd be the best guy clubhouse ever.

I drive thru the bone yard every day to/from work, it is freaking huge, miles upon miles o' aircraft. I've always wanted to jump the fence and have a closer look, but better judgement and fear of federal prosecution has prevailed so far.....so far hehe.
If you're ever in Tucson, and are into aircraft, you should have a look, and visit the Pima Air and Space Museum while you're at it, you won't be disappointed. |

For the DM boneyard, traffic permitting you can get frequently get a low altitude clearance to delay around the Boneyard and helos may be given air taxi permission but I'd recommend contacting the 309th AMARG prior as they own the boneyard. "NEVADA TEST AND TRAINING RANGE (NTTR) COMPLEX - Airspace composed of the Desert MOA, with overlying Air Traffic Control Assigned Airspace (ATCAA), Reveille North and South MOA and ATCAA, Restricted Areas R-4806 East/West, R-4809, and R-4807A/B. The Desert MOA is subdivided into Sally Corridor, Elgin, Caliente, and Coyote training areas. Restricted Areas R-4806 East/West, R-4809 and R-4807 A/B are joint use airspace and subdivided as follows: AlamoA, B, & C, Areas 61, 62B & C, 63, 64A, B, C, & D, 65N, 65S, 71N, 71S, 74A, 74B, 74C, 75E, 75W,76, 76A, Tolicha, Pahute A & B, ECE, ECW, ECS and Cactus EC. R-4808N and portions of R-4808S are non-joint use restricted areas under control of DOE." |
Thats cool as shit, but I don't think I could appreciate it fully unless I was walking through it.
