***Detroit vs. KC: 7/08***

Davies on the bump. Shockingly, the score is 2-0 Detroit, and it's the bottom of the first.

SnakeXJones 07-08-2011 06:19 PM

Shocking he didnt give up 7 in the first

stonedstooge 07-08-2011 06:20 PM

Maybe cut after tonight?

SnakeXJones 07-08-2011 06:21 PM

I saw he gets rocked in the 4th

keg in kc 07-08-2011 06:21 PM

I wonder if I can overcome my well-honed apathy enough to watch an inning or three.

stonedstooge 07-08-2011 06:24 PM

First and third, nobody out and the Royals will put up 1

I think he could murder Moore's whole family and still have a job

gblowfish 07-08-2011 06:42 PM

Jesus H Christmas....does Davies have to work behind EVERY hitter? No wonder he sucks so bad.

gblowfish 07-08-2011 06:45 PM

This guy has GOT to go bye bye. He just can't get it done.

DeezNutz 07-08-2011 06:47 PM

If not Davies, who? Anyone. Please, anyone.

Coleman

Mr. Arrowhead 07-08-2011 06:48 PM

Davies is awesome!!!!

FringeNC 07-08-2011 06:55 PM

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but courtesy of JoPoz:

Lowest quality start percentages (since 1950)
1. Kyle Davies (46 of 141, 32.6%)
2. John Halama (39 of 119, 32.8%)
3. Kevin Jarvis (40 of 118, 33.9%)
4. Casey Fossum (42 of 120, 35%)
5. Brian Meadows (44 of 122, 36.1%)

That Davies has gotten as many starts as he has suggests that he must have good stuff, but he obviously is just too stupid to harness it. Lost cause.

BillSelfsTrophycase 07-08-2011 06:59 PM

**** me, I can't wait for Yost's postgame excuse fest

FringeNC 07-08-2011 07:01 PM

I don't think he'll be trotted out again for his next start. Either he goes to the bullpen, or is given the option of going to Omaha if he isn't claimed. Who is going to claim him?

Dartgod 07-08-2011 07:05 PM

**** you Davies.

Can someone just shoot this POS?

Mr. Arrowhead 07-08-2011 07:10 PM

I wonder if the tigers said whoever strikes out against kyle davies, has to buy the beer tonight lol

DeezNutz 07-08-2011 07:14 PM

There has to be more importing the night before a Davies start than any other time during the ML season.

gblowfish 07-08-2011 07:19 PM

Frank is talking about Belly's "warning track" power. 72 ABs without a Homer.

stonedstooge 07-08-2011 07:21 PM

Mr. Clutch comes through

gblowfish 07-08-2011 07:21 PM

Belly squeeeeezes one through the left side. That'll work. Now if we can just get Davies outta this damn game and quit giving up a run or two every inning.

Mr. Arrowhead 07-08-2011 07:24 PM

unfortunate, our offense is there tonight, on a night where kyle davies is pitching

gblowfish 07-08-2011 07:26 PM

Moosetacos has been sucking it at the plate. We knew that would happen.

He looks like he has some of the tools, but not as many as Hosmer

gblowfish 07-08-2011 07:28 PM

I don't mind watching Moose and Hosmer learn how to play at this level. Hosmer has a great glove, his defense is already there. Moose has a ways to go on both offense and defense. But they're both fun to watch.

stonedstooge 07-08-2011 07:29 PM

Hope the Royals give Moose, Escobar and Hosmer a few years together to see what they get

gblowfish 07-08-2011 07:37 PM

Pena should stick all year now that Kendall is out of the picture.

stonedstooge 07-08-2011 07:39 PM

Yost out to apologize

BillSelfsTrophycase 07-08-2011 07:40 PM

Who the hell's gonna play second?

gblowfish 07-08-2011 07:40 PM

OH....Getz gets run. Who plays second now? Vewwwwwy interesting.....

Blankey 07-08-2011 07:41 PM

Betimit I suppose

gblowfish 07-08-2011 07:41 PM

I'm going to guess: either Betemit, or, Alice goes to second, and Meier to Left Field..... Vewwwy interesting....

Betimet looking confident

Reaper16 07-08-2011 07:44 PM

@rustindodd
In a cosmic twist, Getz was just ejected while highlights honoring PCL player of the month, Johnny Giavotella, were played on Crown Vision.

stupid ****ers never learn about challenging our outfield

petegz28 07-08-2011 07:47 PM

Don't worry, peeps, with Davies on the mound, 2nd base will hardly be an issue

yup, we have had a lot of practice gunning down runners

gblowfish 07-08-2011 07:53 PM

My answer to the trivia question: 5 AL guys who played entire career with one team with 3000 hits:

Brett
Ripken
Yaz
Yount
Kaline

stonedstooge 07-08-2011 07:54 PM

Rose?

i don't even know why they take the chance either.

i mean our pitching sucks so much stank ass that giving us a free out by trying to take the extra base is a gift.

stonedstooge 07-08-2011 08:03 PM

Clemente

gblowfish 07-08-2011 08:04 PM

They have to be American League. Rose and Clemente were national league, and Rose played for more than one team.

Trying to think of the last ones in the National League.

Brianfo 07-08-2011 08:06 PM

If Davies is still on the team tomorrow I will seriously question why I root for this team. How many bags of suck do you have to have. Seriously, the guy sucks. I can pitch as good as him and I will take league minimum. We paid this guy 3mill. WTF IS in charge of our franchise. Seriously, look at his career numbers.

DeezNutz 07-08-2011 08:08 PM

Shit. 5 runs in 6 innings is a high-quality start in Davies world.

Hate to be that guy with back to back posts, but this guy is epic suck! Kyle Davies you should run as far away from this team as you can, because you are a complete abortion, and that doesn't even count todays events. You are so lucky that I don't possess a firearm. I would shoot you so fast, that you wouldn't have time to react. Will you back part of your signing bonus and most of the millions that we gave you go come back this year. I am generally a nice guy but you fukn suck. Too put it blindly. I hope that I don't find you in a gutter someday, but that is completely where you belong.

tk13 07-08-2011 08:17 PM

Davies got his ERA back under 8. Probably should sign him now before his value gets out of our price range.

Deberg_1990 07-08-2011 08:21 PM

But Davies has quality stuff...Dayton Moore told me so....

stonedstooge 07-08-2011 08:22 PM

Too bad there is no place for Betemit. He was having a good year when he played full time

Mr. Arrowhead 07-08-2011 08:32 PM

Billy is slower than slow

Al Bundy 07-08-2011 08:32 PM

**** off Belly.

petegz28 07-08-2011 08:33 PM

Fever..."outstanding play by Peralta.." what a joke. If that's anyone but Belly running that play isn't even close.

Exactly.... Ryan needs to call it like it is.

DeezNutz 07-08-2011 08:35 PM

Billy needs to get in better shape and do speed work during the off-season.

SPchief 07-08-2011 08:36 PM

He does actually have good stuff. If you'd ever actually watched him pitch you'd see that. Having good stuff and using it effectively are two different things.

stonedstooge 07-08-2011 08:37 PM

He thought he was safe at first

Tim Collins can jump

stonedstooge 07-08-2011 08:56 PM

Ryan the womanizer

Al Bundy 07-08-2011 09:02 PM

Another member of the bullpen making sure the Royals don't have a chance to comeback.

Al Bundy 07-08-2011 09:03 PM

I hope we score 1, just to make Collins feel like shit.

GloryDayz 07-08-2011 09:15 PM

Screw the umpire, he's a blind fool. And, as I usually say, for such a bad call, he should be awarded a few games off. A) he was safe, and B) at a minimum, the tie goes to the runner.

It's time to quit protecting MLB officials and letting the players, coaches, and fans have their way with them...

heh....yea....i guess its like any Pro sport, nearly everyone at that level has "stuff". Knowing how to use it....thats a different story....

stonedstooge 07-08-2011 09:18 PM

Come on Alex, jack one

Demonpenz 07-08-2011 09:18 PM

Davis is an inside out Bruce Chen

GloryDayz 07-08-2011 09:19 PM

GloryDayz 07-08-2011 09:22 PM
