Gretz Premium work....
Gretz Posted on his site that as of Sept 1st he is taking it premium (pay) for the second year.
$25 for early sign up, $35 after Sept 1st. Did anybody pay to follow Bob's writing last season? Was it worth it? Did he have good info during the season that would be insightful for someone that follows the Chiefs closely and daily? I'm tempted as I normally read his site but with so much free stuff out there, it kinda ticks me off that he charges once the seasons starts. |
Dude, this is the age of the internet. Gretz isn't gonna give you shit that you're not going to find out 15 minutes later and if you want opinions there's plenty here.
I'd pass. |
Gretz is not an entertaining opinion columnist and he does not have more access than anyone else.
Don't waste your money. |
would people actually pay for his drivel? I don't read his shit for free. And thats saying something.

there's already suckers who pay top dollar for war paintROFL

That really boggles the mind. I paid for insider for one month when I first found the site and immediately realized CI was just throwing shit against the wall, with obviously zero inside knowledge.
He came over to the Royals forum on scout.com and was claiming the Royals were going to trade for Arod. They all made fun of him and he left, but it was really really weird. That site is so shitty though you can't go back more than a year on old posts. Really make's CI's job easier. |
I signed up last year as I enjoy his training camp reports. He never misses a practice, and has some good insight to share. During the season however, there was really nothing of value.

He's the best Chiefs reporter. Not saying much since Joe Po and Fatlock are gone now.

From what you all say, he sucks and isn't worth reading for free.
And in the age of the Interwebz, I don't see how anyone pays for anyone's "inside info". Fer crissake, I don't even have Twitter, never saw Twitter, and wouldn't know Twitter if it bit me in the ass, and even I know that almost everyone related to the NFL uses Twitter (both reporters and athletes) and if you just sign up for a bunch of Chiefs-related feeds you'll know shit ten seconds after it happens. |
lol at anyone willing to pay for that garbage
|
I signed up last year, and aside from excellent preseason reporting, there was nothing to exclusive about what he had to report. If you like a somewhat negative take on chiefs news disguised as honest and subjective reporting then maybe it is the site for you. As for me I get enough chiefs pessimism from the site.

Gretz' premium work. Oxymoron, anyone?
|
I'm not a fan of the guy but if you're a diehard Chiefs fan and have the disposable income then ante up. I don't think anybody will make a living using that model though.

I replied to his posting that he is going to start charging, what are you going to offer me that I can't get anywhere else online, radio talk shows, ect. for free?
A bunch of followers posted he is such a great writer and that $25 is not very much and that Bob has been around for a long time....I responded, I remembered Bob from his articles in the Chief's Reports in the 80's and have been a Chiefs fan since '73 so I have been around awhile. I just wanted to hear "From Bob what he was going to offer me since he wasn't an "insider" at Arrowhead? I just think it's kinda egotistical for him to say at regular season time my stuff is so good that you gotta pay to read it. I would rather he just charge all season long than say this. |
IMO Bob's preseason/training camp reports and news are THE best source of Chiefs info.
Since he doesn't appear to really have inside info, I don't think much can be gained from his regular season articles that you wouldn't get elsewhere. No need to rag on the guy though. |

BTW, I heard Carl was funding Gretz's site...don't know if that's still going on. |

Free Enterprise, nothing wrong with it. If some find it worth the cash, then he is merely providing a solution.

I paid for it last year and the Training Camp reports were pretty good. However, once the season started it was pretty pointless, as you were just getting his view of what you could see for youself or read about at numerous other places. Still, it seemed worth it for the TC reports and Bob's unique Q&A Articles that he does with all members.
This year there is no point in paying. It's really too late now that we're already in Preseason, and to be honest Bob seems like he's got a fly up his butt this year. He's been very negative and his analysis is far too mired in an unusual amount of pessimism. I don't know if he's just grumpy after the hold out, but he does not write like a man who likes these Chiefs. Of course, Babb's Twitter feed is just as bad, and might be more annoying. I hate to say it, but Looney is still the best option. |

And he can't spell for shit. IE - Finding a Couple Silver Linings in KC Route. It's not 'route' Nick. I even pointed that out to him, but he still leaves it stickied like that, either too lazy or too stubborn to fix the title. |
I wonder how many here would stick around if it was 10/year to have a membership at ChiefsPlanet.
Lots of stuff here is "premium content" |

I wonder if Gretz knows if Big Bubba will take the 10 mil from the Royals and sign his contract???
