Andre Gurode?

If he is cut by the Cowboys, bring him in for a look?

Thoughts?

tyton75 08-28-2011 12:31 PM

could be a useful backup to push the starters maybe?

why would he get cut by Dallas though?

O.city 08-28-2011 12:32 PM

cap casualty i think

Bump 08-28-2011 12:36 PM

hell ya and cut Weigmann

ShowtimeSBMVP 08-28-2011 12:41 PM

Andre Gurode - C - Cowboys Matt Mosley of FOX Sports Dallas confirms that Cowboys C Andre Gurode will be released if he does not accept a pay cut.
The writing was on the wall when Dallas deactivated Gurode for Saturday's third preseason game. Mosley tweets that he'd be "surprised" if Gurode agreed to a cut. The 32-year-old will likely end up hitting unrestricted free agency.

yes please.

ReynardMuldrake 08-29-2011 10:09 AM

There are going to be some interesting personnel changes out there due to the cap. I imagine Pioli is watching what happens very closely.

Ace Gunner 08-29-2011 10:10 AM

He played half his career in this offense while Parcells and Haley were there. If he's got anything left, they will bring him in for sure.

BossChief 08-29-2011 10:12 AM

If Weigmann has decided to retire, this would be a move I would be all for.

But, he didnt and we have a young stud waiting for Casey to pass the torch that should be ready sooner rather than later.

O.city 08-29-2011 10:16 AM

Work with me here but could play out this way.

Bring in Gurode to play this year, put Hudson behind gurode and let him learn from him and Casey or let him play LG which i believe he has been working at some . Move Albert to RT, Gaither if healthy at LT.

Gaither, Lilja, Gurode, Asamoah, Albert. Looks pretty good,

Micjones 08-29-2011 10:19 AM

He'd be an upgrade over Wiegmann. Why the Hell not?
He's made the Pro Bowl 5 years straight.

And Brian Waters.

O.city 08-29-2011 10:32 AM

I'm thinking there is no way we bring him in.

Maybe a one year deal or somethin

Fansy the Famous Bard 08-29-2011 10:34 AM

for the type of money he will command, he will not be a Chief as we already have 2 players under contract for that position.

The Franchise 08-29-2011 10:36 AM

If Weigmann was retiring.....sure.....but he's not.

Yeah but he is better than the 2 we have on the roster right now.

There is a reason better players cost more money. They are better. He would be an upgrade at that position. Do I think we will bring him in no. We prob. should but we won't.

It's not like we don't have money to spend.

Epic Fail 007 08-29-2011 10:44 AM

CAN HE PLAY QB?LOL

JD10367 08-29-2011 10:46 AM

I'd bet many teams will be interested in him, including the team I root for (Patriots), but the Chiefs DO have the cash to throw at Gurode if they really want him, and it's not that far of a move for him geographically.

pr_capone 08-29-2011 10:57 AM

It is official.

Love to have an upgrade at RG or Center.

But Gurode ain't playing for the same team as Mr. Haynesworth my friend...

Mr. Laz 08-29-2011 11:02 AM

Don't hold your breath Pioli is not a guy to make late changes like this. Anyone we sign will be a backup/special teams type guy not a guy who will challenge for a starting spot. Imo.

Based on his years with the Patriots, I disagree, though whether that was more BB or SP who knows.

Ted Washington
Jabbar Gaffney
Lawyer Milloy

I'm sure there are others, but training camp trades and surprising cuts of starters have been made before...

More likely (given this completely unlikely scenario):

Gaither, Hudson, Gurode, Asamoah, Albert

I would like to see:

Gaither moved to RT, Albert moved to LG, Gurode inserted next to Weigmann, trade for Joe Thomas, and move Hudson to TE.

Thomas, Albert, Gurode, Weigmann, Asamoah, Gaither, Hudson

good to hear

i'm just going by what he's doing as a Chief. Maybe as the Chiefs get more established he will change as well.

I think Lilja should get a gun and start shootin' bitches.

no respect at all.

As long as he starts with people who map out so many changes on our Oline that I need to get paper and pencil to follow it. I think I have heard every possible iteration of our offensive lineman here over the last couple weeks.

Micjones 08-29-2011 01:11 PM

He's officially been cut. I'll take Gurode and Reserve Safety James Sanders please.
