Already sick of Notre Dame

I was actually already sick of their coverage last week.

Now, this week:

http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball

Great.. Notre Dame is the main college football story this weekend? Really?

Graystoke 09-10-2011 07:05 AM

RealSNR 09-10-2011 07:06 AM

If you're sick of hearing about them then how about you quit watching people talk about them hyuk hyuk hyuk /some idiot in this thread

The Franchise 09-10-2011 07:12 AM

Suck it

notorious 09-10-2011 07:23 AM

Good Luck with that.

Just laugh them off for the mediocre team that they are.

Pasta Little Brioni 09-10-2011 07:33 AM

As great of a coach Lou Holtz was, he is that bad of an analyst. Just awful.

BmoreBills 09-10-2011 07:36 AM

I hate Kelly after what he did to Cincinnati, especially his players. He deserves to fail, even though they are playing Mi*hitigan.

MIAdragon 09-10-2011 08:00 AM

jealous its not a FL team huh.

KcMizzou 09-10-2011 08:32 AM

But... they're gonna have shamrocks on their helmets.

Setsuna 09-10-2011 08:49 AM

You and me both brother. This ND love fest has been going on for decades. Although FL will never get the same no matter how many ships we win, which is how I like it. Michigan is going to route ND. And btw Wombach was/is/always will be a Florida Gator. Suck it.

ExtremeChief 09-10-2011 08:54 AM

Alabama is only game between ranked opponents so College Gameday of course goes to Michigan.? I don't know if Holtz is a good analyst because I can't understand what the **** he is slurring half the time. Him and Shannon Sharpe shouldn't be analysts.

ILChief 09-10-2011 08:58 AM

ESPN is in the ratings business. It's the same as Yanks/Sox, Cowboys, Lakers, Duke B-Ball, Tiger Woods. They know that when they talk about those teams or players they get better ratings. If they spent equal time talking about the Minnesota Timberwolves or Ottawa Senators their ratings would be in the toilet and thus wouldn't make as much money.

Soo based on what you are saying, you think Bama and PSU is comparable to the Timberwolves and/or Senators? Yeah no.

There's actually some wisdom in that.

i think he is saying that ND vs Michigan is more like yankees vs sox. its a big rivalry and will bring more ratings then the sec matchups...

I think it has more to do with ESPN paying big $$$ to actually show a ND game and it being the first Michigan night home game ever. If the game was on NBC, and not ESPN, they'd probably be in Happy Valley for the SEC/BigX matchup.

Generally speaking this is completely true. What pisses people off about Notre Dame is they're completely medicore and always have been but have always received more coverage (and will continue to see more coverage) than some Top 10 programs and local programs for no reason.

Well, I guess they're a Catholic School, and the Catholics, generally speaking, have the most the money (thanks to us taxpayers), so there IS a reason. Apparently the Church provides a more important service to the public than anyone else (like food, shelter and clothing providers), so they deserve tax exempt status over less important institutions. And we, in exchange, get to hear about Notre Dame over a myraid of more deserving programs til the End Of Time.

Gonzo 09-10-2011 11:02 AM

I used to root for ND back in the day but they've become so over-hyped and their noses are so far in the air that I just can't stand them anymore...

Talk about a team that gets way too much undeserved attention. They haven't really been worth a **** in 10 years.

LiveSteam 09-10-2011 11:04 AM

**** ND!
Its been a lot of fun watching them SUCK! the 20 years

whoman69 09-10-2011 12:14 PM

Hail, Hail to old Notre Dame
You win the game, but we get the fame

Mr. Laz 09-10-2011 12:16 PM

wait until they are actually any good

even more bandwagon fugtards will be jumping on board and the media will be going crazy.

KC Hawks 09-10-2011 12:48 PM

I'm tired of both Notre Dame and Michigan. Every year it's supposed to be their "start of a new era" or "return to glory" blah blah blah...

The Franchise 09-10-2011 02:08 PM

Look....I've been an Irish fan since I was a little kid. I can understand why people hate our team though. We haven't done anything in a long time and we're always on TV. I get it....it's the same reason that I hate the Yankees.

It's not like I like all of the preseason hype that they get. I know damn well that it's just raising all of the fan's expectations and they'll be in for a rude awakening. Shit....I called the loss to USF before the game.

The Franchise 09-10-2011 02:09 PM

But the OP can't be upset because there is one article on the front page of a website. Big ****ing deal. They were talking about the loss.....you can't expect Notre Dame to just be completely ignored in the media.

The Yankees haven't won anything in a long time?

CrazyPhuD 09-10-2011 02:33 PM

Is ND out of the BCS championship already again?

The Yankees deserve a good portion of the publicity they get since at least they yield competitive teams. The same can't be said about ND.

Alabama and Penn St get far more coverage than the wolves or senators. They just don't get as much as Notre dame because they're regional teams where Notre dame has a more national fanbase

You should stop hearing about them before the first of the year when all the good bowl games start.
