Berry's injury could be serious

Berry's injury could be serious

Chiefs safety Eric Berry left Sunday's game in the first half with a knee injury, and he didn't return in Kansas City's 41-7 loss to Buffalo.

Chiefs coach Todd Haley said afterward that he didn't yet know the extent of Berry's injury.

But there was concern inside the locker room that the injury could be serious. Berry was tended to earlier in the contest before returning; a few minutes later, the second-year safety was helped off the field.

Bwana 09-11-2011 03:00 PM

Well shit.

Josef Mengele 09-11-2011 03:00 PM

Probably better if it is serious. I am not sure his hype could justify being on the field with the rest of those pud lickers.

Phobia 09-11-2011 03:01 PM

It's okay. I really enjoy watching McGraw playing LB.

CrazyPhuD 09-11-2011 03:01 PM

Well if you're going to **** a season, no sense in doing it half assed.

Rain Man 09-11-2011 03:01 PM

Any time a guy goes down without being touched, it's usually serious. However, Berry didn't appear to be in a lot of pain, so I'm hoping this is the exception to the rule.

But if he is out, we've got Piscitelli to step in and ... oh, who am I kidding? We're screwed.

beach tribe 09-11-2011 03:02 PM

OMG. If Berry is seriously hurt we are in real trouble. I want to kill S. Johnson right now.

Hammock Parties 09-11-2011 03:02 PM

I'd like to see Stevie Johnson suffer a career ending injury. In this career and future careers.

Micjones 09-11-2011 03:02 PM

I hope it's not.
Safety might be the position with the worst depth quality on the entire team.

Is it too late to trade a 7th for Taylor Mays? Our 7th should almost be a 6th.

Thig Lyfe 09-11-2011 03:02 PM

He's just doing his part to help us get Luck.

McGoo, Scabby & Jerry Lewis... and i had such high hopes for the year.

He was touched. S. Johnson cut blocked him right in the side of the knee.

Gravedigger 09-11-2011 03:04 PM

That reciever who took his legs out from behind needs to be castrated for being a bitch.

KC native 09-11-2011 03:04 PM

We're ****ed if he's out for the season or an extended period of time. Once he went out, the bills went right at mcgraw and piscatelli.

The first time he was down? I couldn't see what happened. I was thinking about the second time.

KCrockaholic 09-11-2011 03:04 PM

I would be pretty upset if it's serious.

He's my favorite defensive player in the league. That's just me personally. I love his upside. I love his potential. I love his physical play, and playmaking ability. I've been following him since his freshman year at Tennessee. He's amazing.

I would feel similar to how Colts fans feel about not getting to see Manning play this year.

Bewbies 09-11-2011 03:05 PM

If he's out for the year you can probably add 3-4 games to our loss column because of how far our defense will fall.

Quesadilla Joe 09-11-2011 03:05 PM

Damn that sucks. Dude played every defensive/special teams snap of every game last year and he goes out and gets hurt in the first game of the season.

I would trade an 0-16 season to get rid of him. Probably throw in Dorsey, Bowe and someone else that's good too if it would help. LMAO

It's the way he went down. Steve Johnson totally blindsided him with a cut block twenty yards down the field.

Pioli has some great karma going on with his first rounders...

Baldwin is out, Berry is now out and T Jackson plays like he's out.

Speaking of injuries, is it wrong of me to hope Cassel gets injured so we don't have to see his crappy play anymore? Lol

lcarus 09-11-2011 03:45 PM

You all aren't seeing the Scott Pioli secret master evil plan. He's saying **** this season. Berry faked an injury so we can save him for next year. In the meantime, he's gonna allow Cassel to get killed (wouldn't be surprised if he was assassinated by a sniper from the jumbotron...you think a guy named Pioli doesn't have ties to assassins?). Then we can get Luck next year. Boom. Multiple Super Bowls.

With Berry with an ACL torn sucks because they may not be the same when they come back.

I disagree... it was a physical play that ended badly for Berry on which there was NO penalty on (because it is still illegal) and Stevie Johnson has no prior examples of dirty play to speak of.

I don't see it... he's not Bill Romanowski!!!!

Taking a shot at our best players knee in the open is the very definition of a dirty play.

Dirty play = Dirty Player

Besides, there isn't a player in NFL history that can compare to Criminowski.

I am very frustrated, but that play really set me off. There was no reason for him to go at his knee like he did.

notorious 09-11-2011 04:17 PM

Helmet-to-helmet hit = 50,000

Blowing up a players knee with a cheap shot = Nothing to see here

mcaj22 09-11-2011 04:18 PM

yea that play was worse than when shitty Joe Mays went after Tony Moeaki with club elbow to the helmet on an onside kick last season

I don't think you'd see it that way if Dwayne Bowe did it to Drayton Florence, because to me it is football if there is no flag and no mention of it after the game and beyond. It is only mentioned here... I don't get it.

Come on, man. Really?

The Bills dominated today, and showed that they are a far better team. As for cheap shots, I am the first one to get pissed at Chiefs players if they do it. It's Bush League, and there is no room for that shit on the field.

Leave it to our "classy" Bills fans to act as if it wasn't a sorrry ass cheap shot that takes out our best guy on defense with a shot that has the potential to end a guy's career. Berry is one of the few bright spots on this team and I hope Johnson gets a similar injury of his own by a different cheap shot artist in the league.

Berry was standing on the sideline in uniform during the second half. Seems like if it was serious, he wouldn't have been out there.
