Car Wreck of a Season

With so much doom and gloom on the CP this week, here's a little video to cheer everybody up....

We just need to get the car out on the track and head in the right direction!

You're choice of words is appropriate right now. Have a friend who hit a lady coming home from the last pre-season game. She was on foot, killed her. Not his fault.

Then a member of this site hit a pedestrian in Oklahoma on his way home from Sunday's game. He's going to live but he's messed up.

The Oklahoma pedestrian was, yes. Not the driver/member of this site.

Dude was trying to cross a highway at 10:30pm. If not for some quick reaction/stunt driving, dude would have been hit head-on and certainly killed.

Ace Gunner 09-14-2011 09:35 AM

oh holy hell. that is horrible news.

Pants 09-14-2011 09:41 AM

That is terrible.

I almost hit some dumbass on my way home from work the other day. I was going down College at about 45mph in the left lane and this dude came out of nowhere from the median to cross the road. There are bushes growing on the median tall enough to hide any person trying to cross so you literally can't see them coming until they're almost on the road. There's no way anyone can react in time going at the speed limit if someone decides they want to cross at the wrong time...

Wow good thing you weren't drinking. That would have been ugly.

I was heading to work a week ago or so, and had a child of about 2 step into the street in front of my car. Pathetic excuse for a mother was sitting on a bench at the bus stop. What got me though, is that instead of jumping into the street to rescue her child when I slammed on the brakes, she proceeded to look up from her mobile phone and yell at the kid to get out of the street. Never lifted her fat ass up off the bench.

I really wanted to stop and beat her to death with a tire iron.

The former had 2 beers at the pre-game tailgate. But they drew blood and cleared him. Completed decapitated the lady.

Wasn't him. Will let the member speak for himself if he chooses to reveal it.

I hit a pedestrian once, many years ago. Came over a hill, had just come off the highway but was doing the speed limit at 50 MPH. The sun was setting, making visibility difficult and this couple ran across the 5 lane road. By the time I noticed her shadow it was too late. She rolled up the passenger side of the windsield and then off. One of her shoes was 100 feet down the road. Broke her hip and put in the hospital for a week. Cops cleared me and gave her a jaywalking ticket.

I may not have been at fault but I can still see it happening in my mind 30 years later.

Well, this was a cheerful freakin' thread!

Sorry, having recently read the article in SI from earlier this year about the first Indy 500 and the guy who died when the car flipped, I couldn't help but think about that while watching these old accidents. Nice try but I got no enjoyment out of watching it.

You have nobody to blame but yourself.
