This is a Must Lose Game

Looking at the schedule, with 2 winnable games after this weekend, it's imperative that this team starts out 0-3. If we were to somehow rally the troops and score 2 special teams TDs, it would be a mistake. Playing at home vs the Vikes at 1-2 could actually turn into 2-2 and then 3-2 vs the lowly Colts.

We need to be 0-5 at the bye. 1-4 tops. With 2 weeks of speculation during the bye, the hype machine alone would be enough to do this team in.

Suck for Luck.

Please.

I'm in a pick'em pool. You can only pick a team once. If your team wins, you get the number of points they won by. If your team loses, you're not automatically out. You just lose the number of points that your team lost by. This week, I'm trying to choose between San Diego and Pittsburgh. I'd be tied for first place right now, but there were a guy who chose the Lions last week that bumped him up from behind into first place. I'm now in a four way tie for second.

tooge 09-22-2011 07:29 AM

I'm not too worried about this week. I think we easily lose. It's the next two that worry me. Minnisota at home? Indy minus Payton? I'm very worried about those two.

Mr_Tomahawk 09-22-2011 07:30 AM

What has this team shown you that qualifies any game as winnable?

The offense will have to score at least 50+ pts...or our defense will have to shutout the opponent.

Which one seems more likely?

MahiMike 09-22-2011 07:32 AM

We won last year with special teams. Chargers still have trouble in that area. That, and turnovers are the only chance of winning. I'm confident we'll lose, but I was confident we'd lose last year too.

The offense may not have 50 going into the bye and the efense may give up 50 this week. Neither of your options is likely.

Exactly.

I am not worried about the next few games.

Old Dog 09-22-2011 07:53 AM

Unlike some on here, I HAVE been wrong before, but with our innability to stop the run, Minnesota is a lock. Some think @ Indy is one we should win, but realizing that Collins hasn't even been with the Colts a month yet (signed 25 August and played only in the 4th preseason game) I don't think that's going to be a pushover either.

KurtCobain 09-22-2011 07:54 AM

Hope we win!

Mr_Tomahawk 09-22-2011 07:54 AM

How is this team going to score?

Rely on Cassel throwing the ball?

HA!

the Talking Can 09-22-2011 08:10 AM

the chargers, coming off a loss, are going to rape us to death...and the keep raping us

You do realize the team is giving up near 50 points a game due to the offense commiting soooo many turnovers...6 turnovers against Detroit and it lead to probably half thier points. If they take care of the ball it won't be so ugly.

The Vikings have almost as much trouble completing the forward pass as the Chiefs do. Stopping the run is nothing compared to the teams inability to hold on to the football thier last 4 real games going back to last year.

Amnorix 09-22-2011 08:59 AM

I'm in a pick'em, knockout pool -- only pick a team once, last one left standing wins. 56+% are picking the Chargers.

So I'm a HUGE Chiefs fan this week. :D

SUCK FOR LUCK

The Franchise 09-22-2011 09:44 AM

2 winnable games?

Do you actually think that this team has a chance to stop Adrian Peterson? ROFL Yeah right....

That's what I was thinking. Peterson could run for 200 yards.

The Franchise 09-22-2011 10:02 AM

We have two winnable games.

1. Colts
2. Denver at home.

Jaric 09-22-2011 10:27 AM

You guys are definitely in danger of winning week 5. Todd Haley could probably rush for 100 yards against our defense and offensively we can't really do all that much.

lcarus 09-22-2011 10:32 AM

Every game is a must lose game.

Nah I don't think so. In your house.

Bottom line, Collins, while old, still throws a much, much better ball than Cassel.

His problem is that he's so new to the system. Only a matter of time.

... Or if Peyton ever gets back this season. Still don't know what's going on there.

Ming the Merciless 09-22-2011 10:35 AM

I'm gonna laugh my ass off at all the pussies when we win a few games.

Fritz88 09-22-2011 10:38 AM

We are going to get buttraped.

Same here. I won't be able to contain my laughter at the Chiefs for screwing up their draft position.

Yeah, because winning a few games means so very much. We'll all be proud of our team of reeruns then!

Bump 09-22-2011 10:41 AM

OU could beat us right now, I'm not worried about it. With the way this "team" looks, there's no way we could win a game especially with the injuries.

That's assuming Collins makes it out of the Pittsburgh game alive. I can't in good faith predict that happening.

too bad you can't think about the long term.

CHENZ A! 09-22-2011 10:51 AM

**** the Chargers, and Andrew Luck! Go Chiefs!

MahiMike 09-22-2011 11:05 AM

The difference between 1st pick and 2nd next year will be totally skewed from year's past. With the rookie salary cap in place and the top 5 teams in need of a QB, there's gonna be some HUGE offers made to move up. So glad he didn't come out last year along with 7 other guys.

Thig Lyfe 09-22-2011 01:21 PM

In a weird way this is the most excited I've been about the Chiefs in a long time. We are on the precipice of becoming a real contender. We just have to lose every game first.

whoman69 09-22-2011 01:58 PM

There have been some really bad threads on Chiefsplanet. This is the worst.

I agree that the Chiefs need to lose this game to further increase their chances at getting the #1 pick. But, I think the main game is Indy. That is a must lose for them.

Hammock Parties 09-22-2011 02:08 PM

This is one of the three best quarterbacks we will face all year.

We got this.

Indeed. The Chargers are going to rape us on a pinball machine.

Don't worry man. Cassel is bound to have a good (read as below average for a normal QB) day sooner or later, and the Chiefs will win a game, and I'm sure you'll be here, boy butter stain on your chin and all talking about how awesome he is.

I would love the Chiefs to win, but honestly, 2 or 3 stupid wins where the opposing team just totally looks past the Chiefs, and therefor gets beat doesn't amount to much.
