what a drag it is getting old

Crap, I just realized Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix have been dead for more than 40 years! I feel old.

This also means it has been nearly half a century that I have made music with some of my friends. Crap, now I feel older.:doh!:

Not only have my musical heroes been gone, it has been the same number of years since the Chiefs were on top. I think I need a shot of Jack.

DMAC 10-21-2011 03:48 PM

Quit bitchin, grandpa.

Hammock Parties 10-21-2011 03:49 PM

stevieray 10-21-2011 04:01 PM

I saw Paul McCartney at the Sprint Center this year. Age doesn't seem to affect him. One of the best shows I've ever seen.

BoneKrusher 10-21-2011 04:03 PM

i hear ya man

and i liked the famous words of Mick Jagger/Keith Richards in your thread title.

whoman69 10-21-2011 06:35 PM

I have to admit I was more effected by the loss of Jim Croce.

Backwards Masking 10-21-2011 07:43 PM

Roger Waters at 68 just wrapped up doing a worldwide Pink Floyd The Wall tour. No twenty something on earth could put on a better show if their life depended on it.

....cool....listened to the best of wings the other night.

....saw plant/krauss at starlight....he's still got a great voice.

I'm enjoying my life much more at 52 than I was at 32. Mostly because I'm not as much of a dumbass now as I was then. I'm still a dumbass, but 20 years ago I was an extraordinary dumbass. I figure if I can make it to about 75 I should really have my shit together.

KcMizzou 10-21-2011 09:27 PM

I recognize the thread title from the cover Tesla did on "5 Man Acoustical Jam". And even I feel old.

Marcellus 10-21-2011 09:40 PM

Getting old sucks but it beats the hell out of the alternative.

Okie_Apparition 10-21-2011 09:42 PM

They read excerpts from your autobiography in church Sunday

Earthling 10-22-2011 08:06 AM

Getting old is better than getting none.

My wife is/was a big fan of the Janis Joplin, Hendix and the Doors.

Never a fan myself.

Give me Neal Diamond and the Monkeys.

I'm 32.

Last night I drove by a house that had a truck parked at it with its dome light on.

I went up to the door, and a somewhat attractive early 20s girl answered the door.

I said, "Hi, your dome light is on.". She replied, "OH! Thanks Mister!".

Damn....

Some people think it makes them look cool to be a prick on a message board. Never understood what the purpose it serves or what they get out of it myself.....

I'm 44. Strangely, I get hit on by those same early 20's girls. Daddy issues I guess.

I work at Davidson college, and I went to take some clothes to the laundry for dry cleaning and they asked me what my student number was lol that made me feel pretty good. (I'll be 30 in a couple of weeks) I have always been real baby-faced though, hell until I was about 25 I'm don't think a single cashier believed my ID was legit.
