**** The Official Meltdown Thread ****

The entire team is sucking today.

Defense, Offense and special teams.

I would have probably been more pissed but I am going to call this one a hangover from MNF.

Therefore, chill and give this team anther chance.

SD will lose and Tebow made Hajj so he's going to win this game against the Faiders.

We'll still have a shot at first place next Sunday.

Buck 11-06-2011 02:40 PM

It was the asterisks. You pushed it too far, man.

cabletech94 11-06-2011 02:40 PM

It's not a hangover. We were ill prepared.

I hope Haley slashes his jugular when he shaves that stupid beard.

I hope we win. I'd lol if we beat a 7-0 team after you lost to an 0-7 team.

The way this season is playing out, I wouldn't be surprised.

NO lost to a shit ass Stl team, makes no sense.

GB is the only true dominant team. So far.

prhom 11-06-2011 02:53 PM

How can we be in meltdown mode? This isn't a division loss and if anyone thought we were going to do anything beyond winning the division then, well, I'm sorry. The loss sucks, but isn't completely shocking.

Buck 11-06-2011 02:54 PM

Well it's raining here in SD so maybe Rodgers will have a bad day.

notorious 11-06-2011 02:54 PM

No meltdown here, just mellow.

I expected a loss today, and still know that we aren't going anywhere unless we get a new QB.

Erm, you still have to win some out of division games to win the division.

You insult the beard mere hours before it's set free to roam the countryside righting past wrongs? Not smart.

This.

Bacillus Anthracis 11-06-2011 02:59 PM

I think the loss to the Phins today resulted from the devastating combination of having to face a team that has a healthy starting quarterback as well as the rest of their starting skill players on offense. Hell, Miami came in to the game as one of the hottest teams in the NFL at 0-7. It was also made tougher by the fact that the Chiefs had to play at home.

ROFL

I'm sure the emotional hangover had something to do with it too. ROFL

FAX 11-06-2011 02:59 PM

Lenny just mumbled something about the Fins quarterback having a 147 quarterback rating?

It just got worse in the 2nd half, there were a collection of some of the worst passes I've ever seen in the NFL on display there.

God I hope the coaches are seeing it.

I know, I just don't see why we're now in meltdown mode. BTW, I only said that winning the AFC west was the BEST we could hope for. Did this game really change how you viewed this team?

whoman69 11-06-2011 03:08 PM

Maybe this is the game that makes it clear to Pioli that this team needs a franchise QB.

And they would have been 'One and Done' in the playoffs AGAIN.

if Pioli admits his mistake, it would be after the New England or Pittsburgh game that Cassel would be put on notice. Though Pioli's ego will get in the way and will keep going all-in with Matt.

Very likely. I love the Chiefs but it was borderline that we had playoff success this year WITH Berry, Charles, and Moeaki. Losing those guys was a big loss. I'm not being a hater, it's just hard for a team to overcome that kind of loss. I like the fight these guys have and they clearly have good chemistry. We just have to keep building and getting better, and adding depth. It takes time.

I agree. This is NOT a playoff caliber team yet...with or without Cassel. A playoff caliber team would have won this game going way. We're need more depth across the board. I didn't get to see the game, but it sounds like my concern about the size/weight of our O-line was a real problem today. Back when the Chiefs had one of the better lines in the NFL, they were large and athletic. I don't like undersized lines. Same goes for D-line, we need bigger, better, guys up front.

O.city 11-06-2011 05:37 PM

We need at NT to push the pocket. We need to replace Lilja and Richardson up front.

.. and on offensive line, and a pass rush, and a defense that can cover a TE, and an OC and a HC that has the team prepared to play.

O.city 11-06-2011 05:40 PM

Don't think there was really anything the coaches could have done today. We were due for a hangover after MNF. A loss is a loss. Lets move on.

Ugh. That's exactly the type of shit good coaches take care of. Get them ready to play when they're facing adversity.

Every team that wins a tough MNF game comes out 100% flat their next game? Is Vegas aware of this?

TheGuardian 11-06-2011 05:50 PM

The reason a lot LOT of people picked this as an upset is that coming out flat after a big emotional win is very common.

No biggie really.

The o-line was generally poor in pass protection, but surprisingly opened up a few holes for Battle. Play-calling didn't help us though as we kept trying to run Battle around the end and almost always resulted in negative yards. This may be the worst I've seen the D-line play all year. Even when we blitzed (which was not very often) we couldn't reach Moore.

At this point I'll meltdown when we are winning. **** Pioli and **** any pick that's not #1 overall.

Bowser 10-14-2012 12:47 PM

Meh.

Meltdowns would mean that there is enough emotion for me to get fired up. I really don't have that emotion right now for this team.

I'm just going to sit back and watch as hilarity ensues the rest of the season.

Right! OK, here we go.

I had been holding out that we could have a good season. Last week's Baltimore game was close, we still have a lot of talent, and an easy schedule coming up.

No more.

This team is bad. This team is bad because they don't have a good quarterback, and because they don't care. I'm just chalking this up to a bad season with an underperforming team. Hopefully the key players will stay healthy, we can get Hillis and Bowe back next year, and we can get a decent quarterback that can give us some sort of spark. For the rest of this season, I'll be enjoying watching whoever's on TV, and the NFL in general, while hoping for a good season next year.

Again.
