Chiefs would be a fool to not pick him up...

ChiefsCountry 11-22-2011 03:01 PM

Chiefs should put in a claim on him. We will need a good backup/potential early season starter for our rookie QB next year.

KC_Lee 11-22-2011 03:01 PM

Won't make it past the Houston Texans.

evenfall 11-22-2011 03:02 PM

Good backup candidate for next year. Bring him in for a look.

Why would a team cut the only quarterback on their roster?

We'll have a shot at him, IMO.

I don't see any of the other 4-win-or-less teams putting in a claim.

Actually, isn't there a clause that guys with X years of service just become FA's when waived? Or am I wrong on that?

DBOSHO 11-22-2011 03:04 PM

I would totally bring him in. Underrated guy.

Bane 11-22-2011 03:04 PM

At least he knows you can't throw a field goal.

Sofa King 11-22-2011 03:04 PM

Sweet. He is probably better than Cassel. I hope the front office makes this move.

It seems stupid to me too...

I seriously think Elway hates Tebow winning and knows until the NFL figures him out the fans will have his head on a stick if he pulls him.

Yes there is a rule but during the season every team can clain him first 24 hours

Q is do the Chiefs FO have the balls to put in a claim to p/up the Broncos castoff? I sure as hell would. Swallow and do what you gotta do.

Tennessee put a claim in.

WTF? Some team is going to get a very serviceable QB. Good for Orton. Get out of that situation and find somewhere better for him.

Hell Orton may wind back up in Chicago

We know what Orton is. We don't want anymore garbage wins this season ruining our draft selection.

Lets see what Stanzi has and draft a QB.

Not too bad, even if that means Stanzi not getting a shot until later.

It makes me puke in my mouth a little to see how the NFL can't figure out how to stop that yet....

HemiEd 11-22-2011 03:19 PM

Bring him in, it would be nice to see these wide receivers actually have a QB that can get them the ball.
We saw in improvement in the team effort last night, until they figured out Palko sucked worse than Cassel.
Imagine what they would play like if they have a fairly legit QB behind center.

With your schedule you probably are not going to succeed with anyone this year but with Orton, you wouldn't be embarrassed like last night... Your Defense played lights out in the first half last night.

This. If I thought we had a chance in hell of winning, I'd be all for it. But at this point, it's all about next year/the Draft.

And who's to say Indy won't pick him up? If they don't, there needs to be an investigation about them purposely tanking (hell, there probably needs to be one anyway).

I'd also be worried our dumbass GM thinks he could win with Neckbeard.

Screw that packing the shit in for next year talk... Screw the draft picks.. I was embarrassed when my Raiders had the first pick, that meant they were the worst ****ing team in the NFL.

Aren't you tired of the next year shit by now?

There is no "this year" with or without Orton. There's no playoffs or Super Bowl on the immediate horizon.

I agree 100%. I hate it when this team gets embarrassed, living in Bears country, I have been hearing about it all day.

"Hey, your new QB, what was he doing?"

"You had a good one, what happened to him?"

"Glad to see you got Thomas Jones, he is great, they should run him more!"

"Well at least they gave them a good game, for a while."

pr_capone 11-22-2011 03:31 PM

LMFAO at all the CP'ers here who did nothing but shit on the guy while he was starting in Dungver but now he is a legit starting QB and want him here.

I'd bring him in just to have another body but I sure as shit would not expect great things from neckbeard.

R8RFAN 11-22-2011 03:32 PM

Raiders are a pretty good (not great) team... When they hit the lowest of lows, All I wanted to see was for them to be competitive, you had something to hope for and build on... You are not building on anything with Palko in there... I would give that Stanzi kid all the reps this week and let him start and then you will see exactly how raw he is.

You guys need a vet bad, Orton would be an excellent pickup for this team and get this team competitive and give confidence to that new WR and entice hope for Bowe to want to be a Chief next year.

Carlota69 11-22-2011 03:32 PM

We wont bring Orton in for a look. Why would we? We havent brought anyone in for a look with any of the MAJOR injuries we've had this year. I get the sneaky feeling the FO does not want to win this year. Ive thought that all year. Why else would we sit on our hands and do nothing in regards to bringing in players to replace the injured ones? Clark wants his $$$ not wins.

Well, kinda, but I'm really ****ing tired of seeing guys who couldn't start elsewhere be my team's starting quarterback. And like I said, I'm scared that we'd beat Denver 14-13 in the last game of the year and that not only would it screw up our draft position, but I'm also scared our dumbass GM would take it as a sign that he can build a competitive team without using a high pick on a QB. Then we'd take a LT in the 1st and start all the bullshit over again.

And like I said, if they weren't tanking, Orton shouldn't make it past Indy. **** the Colts.

How would Culter/Orton work being on the same team. Would they compete for the starting job next season?

Agreed. I really feel this FO isnt interested in winning. They are not getting the players we need to fill the injury void. I dont see Orton coming here. I want to win. I still root and hope, but if the FO wont give the team and coaches the players, what are we rooting for?

It would be pretty humorous to see Orton get re-signed by the Bears. It would make sense for them to make an effort to try and pick him up since he could probably be able to play in that offense almost immediately.

I said it before and I will say it again, As long as those stands are full every week they are not going to spend... If the fans got together and put up a billboard in KC and produce a bunch of empty seats they would change their ways.

I despise the Chiefs but the fans love that team and deserve to atleast try to better the team and spend the money... If they spend the money and fail, so be it, they are trying but to sit on all that money when Berry Charles and Moeki & Cassel went down is just dumb... Hate the Raiders, call their picks stupid or overpaying etc etc but they are 2 mill over the cap and they are atleast trying to win.
