Drew Brees, Rolando McClain AP

Raiders linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested and stands accused of illegally firing a gun in his hometown of Decatur, Alabama.

CSNBayArea.com reports that McClain has been arrested for discharging a firearm within city limits, third degree assault, menacing, and reckless endangerment.

Decatur Police Lt. John Crouch told Comcast SportsNet that McClain is currently in jail.

“I can tell you that Rolando McClain is under arrest,” Crouch said. “He’s been charged with third degree assault, menacing, reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm in city limits. He is still in custody.”

McClain, who went home this week for his grandfather’s funeral, was reportedly involved in a fight on Wednesday night before the shooting broke out.

awesome news and remember kids, it's not a stereotype if it's always true.

Not like "ANY" Raider getting arrested is really news? Just another Raider in the pokey.

Then again he should get a hero's welcome there...since the majority of their fan base is listed as Active in the Incarceration listings.

Rolo just fked his team brutally. While he is no Willis, Urlacher or Lewis.....his replacement Blackstock wouldn`t start for a high school team. The Raider defense is fked more than it was.....

Also, the Raiders are only 1 game ahead against the Doncs and the Raiders have the tougher schedule.....they need to be 100% focused on Miami and every game here on out but now this debacle......Thanks douche bag McLame....

Lookin` like TeBlows Doncs are going to take the west....

Sorry, Mr. S&BJW. No offense.

I just figured that, as a Faider fan, you would want to immerse yourself in one of your hobbies as a means to put this horrific episode out of your mind.

I believe this to be true.

Also, the only real difference between a Faider and a gang-banger is that a gang-banger can write his name - although they use spray paint to do it.

I also think that, in the NFL, a lot of guys have this idea that they need pistoleros for protection. I know that a ton of Tacks players carry ... even the more or less normal guys. When you come into the league, the first thing you do is purchase some bling, a couple tats, and a Glock. It makes you feel like you're really part of the club.

Something is a miss on this deal. The victim was injured, and a gun was pointed at him. I dont know the laws in Alabama but the charges do not fit. This could fall into both 1st degree and 2nd degree assault and both are felony charges. This on the surface appears as a "something happened and we might be able to make these charges stick" case. I would not be surprised if the charges end up dropped all together. If what is being reported happened and the cops have reasonable proof, they ring this guy up with much stiffer charges. If true it sure as hell aint no misdemeanor case~

There were 3 guys involved, yes? Rolo's buddy did all of the beating, then the victim was crawling to his car. At this point Rolo steps to the victim and puts the gun to his head. Rolo didn't do any of the ass beating, IIUC.

Second degree assault may be charged in any of the following situations:
•An actor intentionally inflicts substantial bodily harm on another;
•Intentionally and unlawfully causes substantial harm to an unborn child by assaulting a pregnant mother;
Utilized a deadly weapon during an assault;
•Causes someone to ingest a harmful substance;
•Assaults another while attempting to commit a felony;
•Knowingly tortures another.

If true this is a felony case easy as he was at least present while the beating happened and pulled a gun threatening to kill the victim~
