The Royals have dumped on Frank White several times in his career. Don't know why. They'd never treat George Brett like this.

They really have. And he's a KC guy, to boot. One of my favorite players growing up, him, Brett, and Freddie Patek. The Royals can eat shit.

Frank is a friend (I sold him a home) and a Very nice and descent guy. He should been a Royals Manager years ago instead of the scrubs they have brought in. Royals have no class at all.

The ironic thing about this is that George Brett is an asshole (seen it first hand and he has a bit of a reputation). And Frank White couldn't be a nicer guy. He's almost too genuine.

So the nice guy gets crapped on and the asshole is treated like KC royalty.

I don't think he was a good color guy. Likeable and all but he probably belongs in scouting or instruction.

Frank's not as polished as Splitt was, but he always called it like it was, and he wasn't afraid to be critical when it was called for. But TV is not a job for tree huggers, people get whacked all the time.

Frank was one of the good reasons to watch the Royals. You would learn intricacies of the game from him all the time. Besides just being a genuinly nice guy and my childhood hero, the man knew more about baseball than anyone else in that stadium. Including the players!

Frank introduced me to Pepsi Zero. I've never tried it, but through Frnk, I now know what Pepsi Zero is.

It was Moss and Fescoe, and they were not being honestly critical of the team, they were being belligerent and disruptive at Moore's introductory press conference. It was high order douchebaggery. I'm sure you can find it online.

Fescoe is a douche of Mt. Rushmore proportions.

On the Frank White thing: The announcers are hired by Fox Sports Midwest and approved by the Royals. It could be that Fox and Frank couldn't come to a new contract agreement, maybe they want somebody who is a little more polished as a broadcaster, or whatever. I think he did an OK job. He's certainly as good as Jeff Montgomery, who they have on sometimes. The guy they need to can is Joel Goldberg. Remember the Guy Fieri fiasco?

Royals should put Frank White to work in the front office. He's a smart baseball guy. He went to the Red Sox for awhile, then came home.

If it is true that he was fired, he probably thanked them. I don't think he enjoyed all the travel and listening to Ryan act like a friggin idiot during the dog days

Really dumb move. Loved Frank White's commentary, and he's one of the top 4 or 5 icons in all of KC sports. Horrible decision.

It's especially horrible when you consider how much the Royals try to parade "tradition" and tug at people's nostalgia with memories from 1985.

I think this is probably good for Frank. He doesn't need to watch this team, hopefully he gets paid somewhere along the line and some team takes care of him. I don't know how he stayed so fresh, other than the dude seems to take care of his health. After the long ass ballgames he put in I am surprised he just didn't say something worse. I love him describing second base ball. He was a true master at that position. An artist, master, magic man over there.

HAHA! I watched the whole thing through and actually thought it was a disaster because of what a horrible, embarrassing, lame interview it was. Then I read the youtube description and realized he's a fake. Awesome!

Thankfully I was following Guy on twitter at the time. and he cleared it up. That was a classic royals moment

Met with fox sports guy, told he was too negative, he asked for specific times/statements.. Didn't receive any, Frank then just got up and walked away from the meeting.

Probably not... I was pretty sure he was going to crush them after the interview. He'd almost certainly lost his job if he would have done that.

Mr. Kaufman is truely rolling in his grave. He wouldn't have put up with anybody in the organization treating one of their legends like that.

I love Frank White. He was really the best thing about tuning into the TV broadcast. Why didn't they fire LaFebre and re-up Frank White. This just pisses me off.

**** this entire organization. Here I was ready to purchase a package of tickets for this season and this shit happens. **** the Royals. They can leave town now for all I care. Yes, Frank White means that much to me. This man went to spring training every year to give his time to our team. He was the epitome of a class player. 8 time gold glove winner, AL MVP and just a total class act all the way around. For this organization to treat him like this as an atrocity to Kansas City Royals baseball.

If Frank White was being negative he was being honest. It's not his fault he knows more about baseball than the people running our team. And dare I say, it's not his fault if he cares more about the Royals being a good, solid club more than the people running this team.

Unknown... Not even Fox Sports was able to answer that question.

I watched most all of the broadcast games and don't recall him being negative.

More or less pointing out mistakes a player would make in fielding a ball or perhaps a decision for a player to bunt in a situation that was uncalled for. I can't ever think of a time where he directly called out the owner or manager or anything other than to say something like "Yost needs to tell this guy that he has to get the bat on the ball" or "Yost needs to havet his guy do a hit and run because he is struggling and that always helped me when I was struggling at the plate"

In other words Frank called the game from the position of an 8-time gold glove winner with a World Series ring who lolved the Royals, loved Kansas City and wanted to see them make us proud. And he was always classy.

Fox Sports telling Frank to take a hike would be the equivelant of the Chiefs telling Lenny to take a hike.

So the broadcaster showed more knowledge than the organization got it. That's pretty embarrassing and must have stopped a few from coming out to T-Shirt night in July with the team 15 games under .500.

I really wish I could have listened to it. I am heart sick about this. Frank was my idol of the Royals and childhood hero. I wanted to play the game like Frank White. I wanted to be #20. He played the game the way it was meant to be played and should be in the HoF as one of the greatest 2nd basemen to ever step on a professional baseball field. This team and this city was lucky to have such a class player like Frank. You should have seen him in spring training. Always made time to sign autographs, especially for the kids. Always made time to talk with the fans. I was 36 years old when I met him down there and got his autograph and when I told him he was my childhood hero he looked me in the eye and said "thanks, that really makes me happy to hear that" with a very genuine tone. The guy was total class. **** George Brett and his shitty pants.

As far as announcers go, I have heard more negative people than Frank. Far less negative and far less classy. Frank never got irate or upset or started flying off the handle. He was always calm and cool and would say "if Olivo stands two steps back and let's the ball come to him he makes the tag at the plate". People would learn more about baseball listening to Frank for a few games than they ever would anyone else.

Frank White and his size 8 head was one of my favorite Royals, George Brett is one of my least favorite Royals of all time. Par for the course with the Royals though.

The thing that blows my mind is Dayton Moore is a Kansas native who grew up as a Royals fan. He of all people should know how beloved and respected Frank is in KC. I'll always be a Royals fan, but the organization is no different from any other company or corporate entity in America where loyalty and good service means nothing if you hurt the feelings of the wrong people.

Little insight on Kansas native, Dayton Moore. The last year I had season tickets I called my Lancer and told him I was disappointed with the attitude of the front office and the service at the stadium and such. He said he and several other Lancers were quitting because they felt the same way about the front office. Moore brought in a bunch of west coast people to run things and they are taking Kansas City out of the Kansas City Royals.

Frank White was the greatest person to ever wear a Royals Uniform, and Dayton Moore is a huge piece of shit.

Remember when they put David Glasses face on the side of a pepsi can? Oh that's right they didn't. They put put Frank White on the side of one because he is a living legend and world series champion. When David Glass dies he will infamously be remembered as one of the cheapest sports owners of all time.

I never thought he was negative about the team. I just don't think he was a great color commentator. Everybody loves Frank White of course, but broadcasting was not his calling. It's shaky as a PR move, but I don't think the team has lost a great broadcaster.

Frank White's kid played on my baseball team that I coached. He was a great Dad. He totally stayed out of playing time decisions. He wanted no part of helping coach. Wouldn't even come and pick up his son at practices. But he made it 90% of the games.

I am going to get flamed all to daylights end about this, but oh well.

This thread is exactly why I'm not sure it would've been a good idea to ever make Frank White manager. If he had failed I don't think people could handle it. The guy is an icon. That doesn't mean he should've been fired from his broadcast duties though. But still, we just don't know... we already knew Frank wasn't happy with our front office because they passed him over for baseball jobs. Of course he's not going to like Dayton Moore. But you are never going to win the battle of public opinion against a legend.

It seems like 610 isnt gonna get the interview online. Royals PR probably called them and told them not to.
