OCC vs PJD vs JJ
Which bike did you prefer in the biker buildoff?
|
When was this on?
|
Nevermind, its on here in a half hour.
I don't give a shit about all the drama on that show, just the bikes. |
where have you been? Let's play poker! I miss those days, you, me Donger and GE Steve! Life's so rad.
|
Jesse is a fool and a clown, but he actually builds a bike you can ride.
I haven't seen the bikes, but I guarantee that the OCC dudes will construct some kind of monstrosity with bells, whistles, and an automatic gonger on the exhaust while Jesse will actually build a chopper. So, I vote Jesse. FAX |
Jesse James did build a bike you can ride. However, no where in terms of the build off did it say it had to be a daily driver or be able to get you further than 20 miles. Having said that, PJR built a bike that may not be a bike you could ride in traffic, but the design was very well done indeed. A mixture of the nostalgic lines of a 1920's era HD, with the theme of a WWII era P51 warbird. It was flawless IMO, and the reason PJR won.
I think all the trash talking by Jesse was him covering up for the fact he knew he just built another bike. I think Sr. put it best about Jesse's build. It was something he already has in his garage. The insult went right over Jesse's head, of course. PSr. didn't build a bike. But PJR had it right when he said it was innovative. If I had to rank each builds I would definitely have PJR at the top. PSr. as 2nd and Jesse last. I'm not saying I dislike Jesse's build, there just was nothing special about it that made it stand out above the rest. It was just another custom chopper. |
I think Paul Jr built the best bike
|
I never watch this show but did see it tonight. I was immediately drawn to Jr's bike. That thing kicked ass. JJ's was just another bike to me. I don't know WTF Sr. did.
|
20 miles? What are you talking about, Mr. RubberSponge?
Do you live on a circle? FAX |

Supposedly the PJR bike will only run for about twenty miles by the amount of fuel it holds. |

im going to vote for a bike someone can actually ride, James

any pics of the bikes out there? i missed the show.
thanks, sec |
I liked Jesse's bike the best. Then again, I'm a sucker for bobbers.
And, I liked the fact that he built the entire bike (sans wheels and engine) by hand. Which was refreshing to see. Don't get me wrong, I love concept bikes that aren't really intended to be ridden, but rather show pieces. But something about the bobbers strike a chord with me. However, between OCC and PJD, Jr. has a way better product/deisng than OCC. To me, Jesse edged out Jr by a smidge IMO. It's clear that the success, innovation, and concepts from the early days of OCC were primiarly Jr.'s doing. I'm not sure WTF OCC built / why they built it. That kid - Jason I think his name is - is a colossal tool. Personally, I think he's in over his head most times. |

I used to love the show but eventually I got so annoyed with SR. being the biggest douche on the planet, I can't even watch it anymore. Literally have experienced a negative physical reaction just channel surfing across it.
I don't particularly love any of these 3 but JR wins hands down imo compared to the others. JJ's is nice but generic... SR......... wtf dumbass... nice snowmobile? Idiot. |

and, SR's 'bike'....it's electric powered.
anyone see the "Horse" Bike OCC built for a client that raised Arabian horses? lol. talke about a WTF moment. the bikes that stick out to me (in a good way) lately were Jr.s 9/11 memorial bike, and the Cadillac bike. |
JR has the best looking bike by a mile.
JJ's bike is probably the most functional, which is what he was going for. "SR's bike" isn't even a ****ing bike. JJ was half right when he said the "Teutul's dont build bikes." SR sure as hell doesn't build "his" bikes, he may have at one time to get his company where it is, but that's no longer the case. JR does build bikes. In the end I wouldn't ride any ****ing one of them. |

yeah, that too. I forgot about that one.
That trike was killer. |

I guess that, when it comes to motorcycles, I'm old-school or something.
I'm not sure I want a bike that you have to fill-up every 20 miles. You'll look awesome walking back home with a gas tank. To me, this whole bike-building mania is good in that it raises awareness that riders exist and they're not all hoodlums and killers. On the other hand, I'm not crazy about some of the designs I've seen OCC come up with. Some, in fact, are simply ... well ... stupid, not to put too fine a point on it. Give me a stock Norton 961SE and I'd be plenty happy. FAX |

http://www.bikeexif.com/wp-content/u...da-cb750-2.jpg I could ride that cross country. I've actually picked up a '74 CB750 that I'm going to build around that. |
one of these days I'll have to post up pics I took at the Chopper exhibit here in KC. Truly works of art; lots of them could be ridden I suppose, but most were just art pieces (not that it's a bad thing). Stunning to look at some of them.

I'm going to build the CB and sell the rocket. The CB will be my toy and I'm looking at a Triumph Speed Triple for distance. |

Triple, Z1000, even the Concours would be up my alley. I rode a Aprillia Shiver; it was fun. Then I rode the Tuono, and had flashes of the tickets in my future if I got one. |
