Was the Haley "slap" of Muir's headset a sign of bigger problems within the Chiefs?

Petro has brought it up at least 60 times the last 2 days - he's mentioned it 5 times while on with Kevin Harlan this morning.

My question is simple - is it REALLY that big of a deal?

Old Dog 12-07-2011 12:02 PM

Looked to me like he just readjusted his microphone....I'm going with "no"

Nightfyre 12-07-2011 12:04 PM

So, you got tired of hearing about it on the radio so you decided to taint Chiefsplanet iwth it?

milkman 12-07-2011 12:05 PM

Nothing wrong with the headset.

He was just checking for life.

The Franchise 12-07-2011 12:05 PM

Is there a video or a picture of it?

Yeah. Haley adjusted the old guy's mic. That was it. It was absolutely nothing. Meant nothing. Is nothing.

I bet that was the worst Day of his life.

Petro is turning into Jack Harry & if you told him that he'd be proud of it

Hammock Parties 12-07-2011 12:35 PM

Just an old guy who shouldn't be on an NFL sideline.

bricks 12-07-2011 12:35 PM

I really don't see that as a big deal. Talk about blowing stuff out of proportion. It doesn't surprise me since it seems like these reporters have nothing else better to do.

Hydrae 12-07-2011 12:37 PM

From that video posted (I didn't get to see the game, had to listen online) it looks like he just adjusted the mike so that people could actually hear Muir. He moved it up, closer to his mouth. Pretty simple if you ask me.

you know the Chiefs are having a bad season when the cameraman watches the coach instead of the actual game on the field...that we won.

Looks to me like Muir says "What?" and Haley something like "Do your job" and put the mic closer to his face to reinforce "Do your job"...anyway, that's how it struck me.

mikey23545 12-07-2011 12:54 PM

You have got to be shitting me.

This is the first time I've seen it, and anyone trying to make this into a big production is an absolute vagina.

All Todd did was make a slight adjustment to his mike. I thought from all the talk about it he bitch slapped Muir hard enough to twist him into the ground.

Buehler445 12-07-2011 12:59 PM

He was telling him to get his mic closer so he can hear him. I'd bet money.

They dont. Ive brought this up multiple times, but the media has waaaay too much airtime to fill up now days and because of that they end up filling it with junk rumors and speculation. We are all guilty as fans because we are the ones who drive the demand for more sportstalk. TV and radio.

Nightfyre 12-07-2011 01:05 PM

"Do your job." I think haley stole that line!

Fish 12-07-2011 01:13 PM

I'm more concerned with the fact that Grandpa Muir obviously can't manage all that durn newfangled technology. He's having trouble managing his headset, and he's supposed to be in charge of the offense?

Frazod 12-07-2011 01:15 PM

How is that a slap? Good lord, these media dildos will stop at nothing to make shit up. :shake:

Mr. Laz 12-07-2011 01:15 PM

jesus ... he didn't slap it

It looked like he was moving the mic closer to Muir's mouth. Probably because Muir was talking and Haley couldn't understand him because the mic was too low.

"Talk into your ****ing mic, old man." Disgusted grabbing of Grandpa's headset.

Is it a sign of larger problems? Of course. I say this from the perspective that the organization allowed Muir to be the puppet OC in the first place. It shows a lack of leadership, direction, and common sense from Pioli and Haley.

Clark fired Carl at the first opportune moment. He had only really been in charge of the team for two years at that point.

The gif cuts off at the only point in the exchange where you can read Haley's lips, but when his head turns he clearly says words to the effect of "up to your mouth so we can hear you".

It almost gives the impression at the very end that he looks down as if he's looking for the mic that was just adjusted. I'm giggling way too much at his expense.

FringeNC 12-07-2011 02:26 PM

First time I have watched that. That's a slap? Wow. We're 5-7, primarily because we have no passing attack, and this is what sports talk hosts are discussing? How about talking about stuff like...I dunno...would a new QB fix the problem, is it Haley's fault, etc. Yet they talk about this?
