Is Bowe done here?

I don't see anyway he'd want to return to a franchise in so much turmoil.
He's 63 yards from his third 1,000-yard season (in five) with the Chiefs.
Is there ANY way he doesn't test the market and look for a contending team to join?

DaKCMan AP 12-12-2011 12:43 PM

Franchi$e.

ToxSocks 12-12-2011 12:43 PM

Money talks. I just don't see Pioli paying him.

Mr. Arrowhead 12-12-2011 12:43 PM

yea its called the franchise tag

So? Another year of a WR in his prime.

One more is better than no more.

O.city 12-12-2011 12:45 PM

Franchise him or sign him and franchise Carr.

One of the two will be here next year.

DaWolf 12-12-2011 12:45 PM

Depends on if the next coach thinks he can be of any use. Bowe will go wherever the money is, so if we want him, we just pay him...

I, personally, would like to see him stay here another 4-5 years.

This is the problem with this post. D Bowe, just like 95% of all other athletes will go to wherever he gets paid the most.

Has nothing to do with contending team. That's for the guys chasing when they're 35 and only a few years left.

O.city 12-12-2011 12:46 PM

Honestly I think a high percentage of professional athletes could give a shit about winning. As long as I'm getting paid, I'll play wherever.

Eh...I'd rather trade him then if they don't think he'll figure into our long-term plans.

I think you misunderstood. If Bowe has the choice of signing another contract with the Chiefs or, say, New England...don't you think he'd rather play with Brady than _______ in KC?

Which contact pays more? If they're the same? Sure he'd choose Brady.

Thread over. These guys are all mercenaries.

No doubt, but if he doesn't want to sign here long-term (don't have any info one way or the other) then you might as well get another year.

Molitoth 12-12-2011 12:52 PM

TBH I really don't care. He makes some great plays, and is somewhat of a threat to the opposing defense.... but I'll be damned if he can ever catch a pass that he is supposed to make. He is WAY too inconsistent for my liking.

That's who he is. He was the same way in college. He's improved some in that respect in the NFL, but he's as advertised when we drafted him.

gblowfish 12-12-2011 12:55 PM

He would like to thank The Clarks for his years here in KC. And he's sorry about dropping those passes. Whoops...

Easy 6 12-12-2011 01:13 PM

He's probably done here, Pioli will pull out all of the stops & bring in some scrubass the pats cut this offseason.

Demonpenz 12-12-2011 01:20 PM

You have suffered a Fatal Injury. You are done here.

He's the best WR this club has had in 25 years. He drops on occasion but then again, he's made some catches this year that all stars make. He's vastly improved on his consistency recently and I'd hate to see him go.
Him and the other two have the makings to be the best group in the league if they had a QB that wasn't a full reerun.

I've always been positive on Bowe, and while I agree a good QB could make Bowe better.... I've seen him drop too many balls that are right in his hands/chest.

I'd prefer to keep him here and for him to improve, but I wouldn't cry if he was traded.

Demonpenz 12-12-2011 01:35 PM

I would we got to see more of Jeremy Urban, that guy reminds me of Ed Mcaffrey.

All mini-camp Urban looked fast with great routes and hands.

Everytime I've seen him in game this year (When he's not injured), he looked slow and WTF.

I don't get what happened.

Micjones 12-12-2011 01:58 PM

If they wanna keep him they had better offer him a contract now.

All things being close to equal a player wants to win.

durtyrute 12-12-2011 02:03 PM

If he is talking about leaving, trade him and lock Carr up. Would like to see him go, but I really don't care if he does.

Define close. ;)

I know that's hard to answer and I'm not saying players don't want to win. I'm just saying if they're only a couple mil apart? I still think DBowe goes for the money. Whoever offers more.

Probably a moot point. He'll likely get tagged anyways.

They'd have to franchise him first, no?

ChiefsCountry 12-12-2011 02:30 PM

Nick Wright just blew this theory out the window.

I hope The Chiefs get as much for Bowe as they can before the league realizes how inconsistent he is. I'm tired of watching him drop easy catches.

Brock 12-12-2011 03:22 PM

They'll just franchise him.

Every wide receiver drops passes, and most of the great ones drop them on a regular basis too. Bowe is among the best in the game. An occasional drop doesn't change that.

You can't trade him unless you own his rights which we can only do by signing him or franchising him.

How about we keep Bowe and you just stop watching.

Resign Carr, and package a franchised Bowe and our first to the Rams so we can jump Wash/Cle/Miami for RG3

007 12-12-2011 04:01 PM

he will be tagged

kcpasco 12-12-2011 04:14 PM

BOWE will get thrown under the bus for his inability to make Cassel a better Qb.

I would say he first corrects the grammar to "couldn't care less" but I doubt Pujols would notice.

DBOSHO 12-12-2011 05:05 PM

LOL trade bowe because he dropped a high pass in the endzone of a game we were down 25 points in.

The ONLY way I trade Bowe is if its the only way to trade up for a quarterback which, in a way would be counterproductive for a young quarterback to lose one of the best weapons in the league.

big nasty kcnut 12-12-2011 05:08 PM

He and carr both stay and we get a qb or start stanzi and we talking playoff.

Okie_Apparition 12-12-2011 05:37 PM

Probably a repost & I'll have to admit to listening to NIck Wright
But supposedly Haley said some nasty things to Bowe, that had Bowe talk to his agent or Scott Pioli about
Exageration probably could be in play
