Who's The Worst Chief?

The Pro Bowl vote will be coming up soon. I think DJ and Tamba will make it, maybe Flowers, but nobody on offense. It got me to thinking, who has been the WORST Chief this year? I'm going to disqualify anybody who was brought in from the practice squad, or late season emergency trade. It has to be a guy who made the season opening 53. Make your pick...say why you made your pick!

Thig Lyfe 12-15-2011 02:14 PM

How is this even a discussion?

Matt Cassel.

Rasputin 12-15-2011 02:18 PM

Kill Cassel

Kill Palko

There put them in bold.

Cassel.

Jones is too old, so that's his pass.
Gym Tan Laundry was known before hand that he sucked.
Richardson sucks, but not as bad as Cassel
Palko we knew sucked going into the season.

Cassel is our 'franchise' qb that Pioli somehow thinks will win in the playoffs and beyond.

So, "Cassel".....final answer.

BigMeatballDave 12-15-2011 02:24 PM

I voted Richardson.

Cassel sucks. Obviously ...

kaplin42 12-15-2011 02:24 PM

Clark Hunt.

He has the final say in all of this. And until I hear otherwise, I assume that it's him that told Pioli to stay so far under the cap. All he is doing is making money, he doesn't give a flying **** about winning.

Based on pure awfulness:

-Sabby
-Palko
-Richardson
-Cassel
-Jones

Based on cost (financial or holding back the franchise):

-Cassel
-Palko
-Richardson
-Jones
-Sabby

gblowfish 12-15-2011 02:28 PM

I picked Richardson. He is an abortion as a starting tackle. His ineffective play has somewhat of a bearing on Cassel and Palko sucking...although those guys provided a lot of fuel on their own.

Slappy Pistachio would be number two for me. How can he possibly be part of "the right 53???"

I don't really hold anything against Palko. He just doesn't have NFL talent.

But, Worst Chief Palko prepares by spending tons of time in the film room.

Therefore, I vote Palko.

That list is a dead heat except for Gaz. That list is so depressing that I am going to shove a burning aids tree up my own ass.

I am going with Cassel, because if he was worth even 25% of the money and time invested in him, the rest wouldn't really be an issue.

The pressure would not be on those other guys nearly as much as it is.

ChiefsCountry 12-15-2011 02:37 PM

Cassel is the worst for all the shit he has put on this franchise since Pioli traded for his worthless ass.

Pioli should be fined by the league for that move right there. ^

Lonewolf Ed 12-15-2011 02:46 PM

After careful ponderance and much mind changing, I will go with Richardson based on a play-by-play basis. Seeing how often he lets someone get past him, and how often he is flagged for a false start or holding penalty, he gets the nod. If he had a little more skill, he might get flagged for an illegal hands to the face, but he never keeps anyone in front of him long enough to get that penalty called.

If Slappy was in for more plays, and I am very glad he is not, I might have chosen him as the worst player. Palko ran for 12 yards once, so at least he has done something himself that was positive.

suds79 12-15-2011 02:49 PM

Cassel. He wins this for being sorry & playing the most important position by far.

Yes Barry Richardson sucks also but his play does not directly determine the success of this franchise. Matt Cassel is the #1 problem with this team.

scho63 12-15-2011 02:59 PM

Based on NFL player rankings, I believe Richardson is the bottom of the barrel.

Palko would be if they gave him any more time. Imagine a year of him? There would be a mass suicide of Chief's fans.

While Cassel is by far the most overrated and overpaid, Richardson is still the worst player on the team. Starter or no.

SenselessChiefsFan 12-15-2011 03:31 PM

Cassel is one of the top 20 players on the team, easily. Now, if we want to argue which has the most negative impact on the team, it could be Cassel.

ie: Having Cassel causes them not to try to get an elite QB, content to start an average NFL QB.

But, as far as pure evaluation of players..... Palko, Richardson, and Sabby are all among the worst players in the NFL.

Cassel would be a starting QB on about half the teams in the NFL.

Chiefs fans are apparently idiots.

Good QB's will make plays and still win games (unlike anything we have), but some chiefs fans are apparently okay with the most important player on their team getting knocked to the ground over and over because Richardson can't hold a block for two ****ing seconds.

A better QB won't make Richardson better. He can just compensate for his suckage... as well as be punished for it physically. Barry can't block in the run or pass game and his sorry ass needs replaced. Especially if we get a QB worth a shit.

I came up with about seven I think he would start for.

Seahawks, Colts (no Manning), Bears (no Cutler), Redskins, Texans (QB injury disaster), Titans (Hasselback injured), Dolphins (maybe)

And there you have it. He'd definitely be starting for 2 teams, maybe 3. Other teams would take him because they have no one else. So yeah, not even close to half. LMAO

Why would he be starting in Tennessee or Miami?

Jake Locker has looked good and they spent a first on him.

Moore has been the 5th best QB in the AFC since taking over for Henne.

The Titans went to Hasselback because they didn't want to start Locker so soon. They'd definitely take Cassel now. And note, I said MAYBE for the Dolphins. Personally, I wouldn't if I ran them, but it wouldn't shock me if they took him over Moore.

scho63 12-15-2011 03:55 PM

Speaking of Richardson, it must have really pissed off Clark Hunt and Pioli to have Haley cut Gaither and have him perform so well in San Diego and watch BR stink up the O-Line like PePe Le Pew. That had to burn just like Palko

darkchief 12-15-2011 04:05 PM

It was a toss up between Richardson and Jones, I went with Jones. Jones is dogpoo, if he gets back to the line of scrimmage its a good play for him.

7 PPG as a starter. It is hard to fathom someone that bad, but he definately fits the bill as one of the worst to play the position in team history.

Cassel's at least an average player who would be a fine backup in the league.

Matt Cassel (The Duke of Dink) = The guy is paid huge millions and is expected to lead the team in the most detrimental position. The CLEAR winner here. He is garbage.

The "Illusive" Thomas Jones = Jones is a reliable RB when you need a couple yards. In his age, and with the other RB's on the roster... nobody should expect him to be a 1000 yard back.

Barry "The Human Speed Bump" Richardson = Ugh. Although I don't see him putting a ton of effort into his job. I think he knows the season was shot with the injuries and Cassel at QB so he didn't bother giving a shit. Regardless; if I were GM I would send him packing as soon as the season is over.

Tyler "Calabaloo" Palko = The dude has been cut by a billion teams, nobody expected him to be good. (And he wasn't)

Sabby Piscatelli (Slappy Pistachio) = Who really would've thought that Berry and McGraw would go down that fast? This guy was on the team for special teams and practice squad fodder... not much is to be expected.

Earthling 12-15-2011 05:17 PM

Every one of those guys has their own unique ability to fail miserably.

But I had to vote for Richardson. That guy might be the worst offensive lineman I've ever seen. Even worse than Jordan Black aka "I-65." I can't understand how an NFL lineman can whiff so consistently when it comes to pass blocking. I think he'd improve if he'd just stop, drop, and roll when the ball gets snapped. He could trip the opposing defender and give the QB a decent amount of time to throw the ball.LMAO
