Some interesting gift ideas for the lady types in your life...

I know I'm gonna get a world of grief for posting this... but I just found out about 3 new services that seem like an pretty cool concept...

BirchBox, MyGlam and EcoEmi are companies that for $10-$15/month send a box of samples of different beauty-girly-fancy stuff. The cost is the flat rate, no additional charges for shipping.

In my mind, that seems like something chicks would really dig... feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

www.birchbox.com
www.myglam.com
www.ecoemi.com

Feedback appreciated...

I agree and it makes the guy look like he is consistently thinking of her all the time because she gets something every month. Every man comes off looking like the true romantic that every woman wants in her man thus rather than the same ole sex routine now the guy gets "JUNGLE F**KED" at every turn!!!!

Assuming now you don't tell her this is just an automatic service once a month thing and you have no investment of time in picking it out. That is the key. You don't say sh**!! Make her think you are thinking of her all the time and you have a variety of tastes and like her to try different things because you see her as special and versatile with style!!!

Thanks Austin for this great idea!!!

Links please

Added links to the OP.. doing a little more research on them now... looks like MyGlam is winning right now as the best pure gift idea. Plus it's only $100 for an entire year.

They don't ship very well. I assume you want a LIVE puppy.

trndobrd 12-18-2011 08:59 PM

So once a month the lady gets a box in the mail that says "Hey Woman! You need this make to look better."

No thanks. I'll take my chances with a new iron for Christmas.

Need somewhere more convenient to store the clean clothes, I see.

I'll buy you a couple puppies. Of course, you'll have to let me play with them once you get them.

This reminds me... the people that dress up their dogs in clothes need to get bitch slapped. :# Oh, and you're a perv. :D

I'm pretty sure that if you, (or anyone for that matter), bought me a couple of puppies, I would be playing w/ them constantly. :)

If there's one thing I've learned about puppies, is that they don't mind the attention two people bring to them at the same time.

Ok, let's pretend for a moment that I would be the least bit interested in this girly crap, here are my thoughts...

www.birchbox.com: By the pic on their site, it appears that they have a larger selection of products that are more popular. This is a good sign. One thing you don't want to do is buy a bunch of crap for your lady that she's never heard of before. Plus, when it comes to cosmetics, some products can make skin break out. I've learned that this usually happens w/ off-brand cosmetics.

www.myglam.com: I wasn't impressed w/ the website at all. They displayed a pic w/ only a few items showing. My guess is they have a bunch of crappy off-brand cosmetics and such.

www.ecoemi.com: Holy hippie hell, Batman!! Eco-friendly girly crap? Seriously? I just glanced at their site for a split-second, but now I have a deep desire to throw on some Covergirl and run outside and chop down a tree.

As far as my overall view on getting this crap for your lady friend... go with your gut feeling. If your gf/wife likes this type of stuff, you should be fine. However, if they don't, it would more than likely be a waste of money. I mean sure, she'll smile, say, "aw, how sweet", but then you will find the crap collecting dust on a shelf.

Mrs. RJ asked for a new recliner.

It's not romantic.....yet.

Yeah. You were the guy sitting in the corner w/ raw meat in one handing and fapping w/ the other, right? Wait, were you talking about the perv meeting or the crazy ****ers that dress their animals up like people meeting?

I'm with ya on the eco crap.. but ...from what I have seen in my research.. the MyGlam stuff is actually the higher end FANCY crap... their last "box" was seriously high end cosmetics... I'll keep looking into it... and report back if I can without looking too gay... either way, I appreciate the feedback!

Actually, I might get mine the eco one. Mine is always looking for paraben free stuff. Soaps without triclosan, etc. Sometimes the stuff that claims to be green, though, just has green written on it and some oatmeal in it, and then the same chemicals as everyone else.
Looking at her site though, she seems legit.

I know a girl who is completely into stuff like that.

I'll just add on to Lumpy's reviews. My comments are in red.

I like this site as well. A lot of stuff to choose from, etc.

This site seems like it would be for the make-up impaired female. How-to videos on how to apply their products? If they need instructional videos, then this probably isn't the type of stuff they want.

www.ecoemi.com: Holy hippie hell, Batman!! Eco-friendly girly crap? Seriously? I just glanced at their site for a split-second, but now I have a deep desire to throw on some Covergirl and run outside and chop down a tree.

As I mentioned already, I do know a female who would be totally into stuff like this. If you've got a green-friendly woman who looks for natural ingredients, etc., then she might actually like this. If not, I wouldn't waste my time researching this site.
