This thread is for players who the Chiefs have rumored interest in, in terms of scheduling work outs, bringing in for visits, seen chatting with at Pro-days, combine, etc. Not just players that us fans want to draft. Also, to give the thread some credibility, please include a link or source from where you got this info. Thanks! |

2012 Senior Bowl Team Interest
by Alfie Crow on Jan 23, 2012 6:55 PM EST in 2012 NFL Draft Being at the Senior Bowl this year, after practice you can see which teams pull which players aside and chat them up. Shawn Loiseau @ShawnLoiseau
@BleedChiefs ya I've talked to a couple scouts from the chiefs. Pat Sperduto is the best. |
Anyone know much about Boom?

Found one! CB Jamell Fleming
http://newsok.com/ous-jamell-fleming...line_ou-sports “I felt much better today, got my feet under me and got a better feel for what they were asking us to do,” said Fleming, who also was approached by a Kansas City Chiefs scout on his way off the field. Fleming has talked with plenty of other teams this week. Read more: http://newsok.com/ous-jamell-fleming...#ixzz1kRZ8xj1h |
2012 Senior Bowl: Prospect Meetings Report Kansas City - Arkansas defensive end Jake Bequette 2012 Senior Bowl - Player / Team Observations Matt McCants Kendall Reyes Harrison Smith |
Bequette would be an OLB I assume?
|
Quote:
|
Possibly a Mike Vrabel type? He's played Tight End also. Might be a good 4th round selection.
|
|
IMO Bequette woudl be a solid pick. Plays with a high motor. Can rush the passer.
|
If we are copying the Pats then when are we getting our version of Tom Brady? ;)

Judging my last year's thread, the Chiefs drafted or signed 4 of the players that were in this thread FYI.

He's sitting next to a bronco scout, I smell trouble.

I've noticed through the years since Pioli took over that the Chiefs and Ravens are usually scouting the same players. At least our scouts are in good company. |
Would Irvin be around in the second round?

So the Chiefs haven't brought anyone in for workouts?

I need to update this thread; been busy with work.
Definitely need as much participation as possible to get this rocking and accurate. I'm unable to research on my own most of the time, but I am happy to throw the list together when given names. That being said, I haven't heard of many pre-draft work outs just yet, Rust. Most of the stuff I've seen is buzz here and there about who we may be interested in. I'll get this updated soon, fellas. Thanks for your help, and patience. |

He got his GED, played in junior college, and graduated with a college degree while being a stellar athlete. I call that turning a leaf. |
I would take Dan Herron, this guy is vastly underrated because of his suspension and his missed games this year. He isn't a 1st round talent, but he is a second round talent. He has breakaway speed, and he is a tough runner, he doesn't go down easy. He also has good hands, he was a constant threat out of the back field. I think you may be able to get him in the 4th, if so, that would be a steal IMO.
|
I actually like Isiah Pead alot.

Still, I hope his draft stock plummets until Pioli says, "This is ridiculous. The guy is faster than most option QBs in college" and takes him in the 6th round. That would be perfect. |

Bruce Irvin Reportedly Visiting Chiefs
He is appealing both the 3-4 teams as an outside linebacker and 4-3 teams as a defensive end. Among the teams he is visiting are the Bears, Browns, Chiefs, Dolphins, Forty Niners, Jets, Panthers, Patriots, Texans and Titans. Part of the reason so many want to see him is coaches want to put him on the board and watch tape with him, and have a chance to see what makes him tick. |

Marvin McNutt meets with Chiefs, Dolphins, Bengals
Source: Marvin McNutt meets with Chiefs, Dolphins, Bengals
Although ultra-productive Iowa wide receiver Marvin McNutt hasn't drawn as much buzz as other prospects, the NFL has him firmly on its radar. The Hawkeyes' all-time leading receiver has met with the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals. McNutt is a big target at 6-foot-2 1/2 and 212 pounds who has good hands and runs sharp routes. At the NFL scouting combine, McNutt ran a 4.54 in the 40-yard dash and registered a 37-inch vertical leap, a 10-2 broad jump, a 4.07 in the 20-yard shuttle and a 7.15 in the three-cone drill. He played in the Senior Bowl. As a senior, McNutt caught 82 passes for 1,315 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was named the Big Ten Conference Wide Receiver of the Year and named all-conference. As a junior, McNutt caught 53 passes for 861 yards and eight touchdowns and was named second-team all-conference. As a sophomore, McNutt caught 34 passes for 674 yards and eight touchdowns. McNutt finished his career atop the Hawkeyes' charts for receiving yardage (2,861), ranking second with 170 receptions. He tied the single-season mark for catches last season with 82 receptions and set the record for yardage with 1,315. He owns the Iowa records for single-season touchdowns (12) and career touchdowns with 28, ranking 10th in career scoring with 168 points. McNutt chose Iowa over Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin. We met with Doug Martin and attended Ryan Broyles workout. I would love to have either one of them
|
LSU safety Brandon Taylor visited the New York Jets on Thursday, according to a league source.
He also has visits with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins. Taylor has had a dinner meeting with the Arizona Cardinals and had a private workout for the New England Patriots. The 5-foot-11, 209-pounder ran a 4.58 at his Pro Day workout and bench pressed 225 pounds 16 times. The three-year starter and team captain had 160 career tackles, 11 1/2 for losses, 15 pass deflections and four interceptions. Last season, he started every game and finished third on the team with 71 tackles to go with two interceptions. I like the Taylor kid from LSU as a safety.

Doug Martin is sick. What round is he projected? I'd take this dude in the third... maybe even second, depending how comfortable we are with JC's knee and PH's attitude.
|
He will go somewhere in the top of the 2nd most likely. I would love him.. reminds me of Ray Rice
|
Every year so far Pioli has drafted someone that we have had in for a visit with our 1st.
